The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the efficiency and support of specific staff members during the leasing process, highlighting a seamless experience and quick move-in times. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding service delays, inadequate maintenance, and poor communication. Many customers reported unresolved issues, including mold and plumbing problems, alongside frustrations over application fees and lack of responsiveness from management. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the recurring complaints suggest a need for improved customer service and property management practices to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.

Great experience so far. Haven't moved in yet but the process was very smooth from start to finish. Natalie did a great job and was very informative. Thanks. I hope this lease term will be great to me and the company.
I had a problem with my application fee being applied to my email address. So that I could continue to apply for homes. I called many times to get someone to rectify the problem but I kept getting we will leave a note for management and it will take 1-2 business days. You would think it would be a simple task, but it wasn't.
My second gripe with them is that we kept getting locked out their system when we wanted to view a property. And it took them a couple of weeks to fix it. But we were still getting bad codes on the rental property and still having to call them to get a code to see a property. And having to leave a property without even seeing them because of a code problem, wasting my time and gas. Customer service at the common folk level is ok but they have no power and they have no answers for you but the generic "we left a message for management ". I would rather deal with a real life realtor. Don't do it.
I saw all the bad reviews before I move in. However, I decided to give them a change. We did have some problems. For example, the AC was not working properly and leaking all over the wood platform it is on. They kept putting band aids on it then it would stop working again. They FINALLY fixed it almost at the end of our lease. The floorboards started flooding during heavy storms. They finally had a company come out and replace everything. We are in charge of pest control but the problem is, I swear this house is built on ant hill. They come in not from the windows but from the wall. They are all over the outside too.
All of that I could have lived with. However, they really upset me at the end of our lease. We hauled our whole family here - my son changed schools his junior year to come here. We moved mountains to move into this house. As the year end lease was approaching they told me they were selling the house. WHAT? Now we have to change our entire lives again? I'm 100% sure they knew they were selling it. This happed to someone else I know who lived in a house by MSR. They told her they were selling it and she could move (transfer free) into one of their other houses. A week later that house was up for lease again. They gave us the offer to buy it but no one responded on that end and we called them & emailed daily.
The thing that happened to the person I know is that once she moved into one of their other properties, they said she had to pay for cleaning and repair fees at her old house. She said she had no repairs to be made, and left it better than she found it. She hired a professional cleaner to come in and clean it and they still wanted to charge her hundreds of dollars. When she refused to pay, they threatened her with eviction.
This company plays so many cat and mouse games. Read their reviews. Also read their employee reviews. All are horrible. Avoid at all costs.
If I could a negative zero I would. I've only been in this house for 6 months. This has been a complete nightmare since the first day I moved in. Now it October 22nd,2024. Things are worse. My whole kitchen is under construction. It's been a week now and still isn't fixed. They ripped my whole kitchen apart and turned my water off. I was told I need to call the vender myself. When Mrs sent them out there. This house is full of mold an I have proof of it, You think they cared anything about it no. My house wasn't even supposed to be rented due to it being a squatter house. But I wasn't able to look at the home due to not allowing me to do so. I've had so many people in this house it's ridiculous. An nothing has been resolved. I've been so stressed out,I asked them to relocate me or terminate my lease and the want. Now, my next step is civil court.
We rented with Main Street Renewal between 2021-2023, and loved renting with them! We moved into an apartment for financial reasons and have missed Main Street Renewal ever since. We are ecstatic to get back with Main Street in 2024, as they hold their properties to a high standard and everyone on their team has always been helpful and friendly. We never once had any issues renting with them. It's easy to call Main Street Renewal our home and I can't speak highly enough about them.
I have only been in this rental 30 days and the number of issues and stress that have already occurred are starting to become ridiculous. Now I understand things happen but how this company handles things is the problem. Not being able to speak to an actual person for hours (over 5) after any type of flooding is crazy. Days go by before a clear and direct respond is given. If mistakes are made with billing, it's a circus to get the issue resolved. I have literally been going back and forth with this company for over 3 days now. Each time having to explain the issue FROM the beginning with no resolution. Even speaking with a "leader" was no help. I dislike mess and always handle business professionally, so this is just something I am not accustomed to. I truly hope they read and address feedback from their residence. This I'm sure will help retention of families
They turned off my daughter's water on 9/4 in am. Rent has never been late. Why are they not paying the water bill. It is a Florida law to provide water. No response as to why and when it will be resolved. She has an infant. This is criminal.
Today 10/3 - the rental company added the shut off water and turn on water fees to the rent -
It's the management company that pays the water bill
Your company is criminal
I contacted Main Street Renewal as their lease home next door to me has trees growing over, under, and through our fence and the city property line; no to mention now sitting on my yard furniture as well. We were by Main Street Renewal Supervisor Keith today that told it's up to us a non-Main Street Renewal customer, but a 25-year actual homeowner, it was my responsibility to prune my neighbor's trees. I find this completely unacceptable that I have no affiliation with their home nor this leasing company, yet they are telling me to cut it back or have it pruned, at my own expense and risk. This shows a total lack of customer service or appreciation for someone trying to report and issue that is clearly on their property. Finally, it took 4 calls (over 6 months) to Main Street Renewal for someone to finally call me back today and give me this non-acceptable answer. It pains me to give 1 star, as I would have given 0 stars if allowed.
Main Street left me and my child without air for eight days the first time. The temperature was over 98° outside and we both have asthma so therefore we had to stay in a hotel for eight days. They would schedule an appointment and the technician just wouldn't show up so we would be moved to the next day. Then, of course when he finally did show up, he couldn't fix it so there goes another day. Finally was able to fix it. He had unplugged my freezer and by the time I realized it all of my food had gone bad because the freezer was in the garage. About two weeks later it goes out again. So obviously they don't know what they're doing and here we are without air another four days. Main street refuses to pay us back for the food loss or the hotel stay or anything claiming they fixed it in the right amount of time. Their website guarantees 72 hours, I don't believe eight days and 72 hours anyway you look at it
A floor support came up through the floor. It's causing a trip hazard and it's obstructing the front door causing an emergency entrapment.
We were without a shower for over 4 months because the walls of the bathroom caved in with mold, and they refused to do anything in a timely manner or give us any financial compensation (rent remained the same). They then had the audacity to take over half of our security deposit and charge us for things like "cobwebs" and "paint chips on hinges" and "upmowed lawn" while citing photos that were taken over a month after our move out date. Truly horrifc, never rent with this company if you can help it.
I'm very happy for the service I received from them I wanna say thank you for that

Alabama Code § 35-9A-204 requires the landlord to maintain the property in a safe and habitable condition. Currently they are not. I moved into a Main Street property on 7/5/24. It is now 7/12 and I have not had working AC the whole time. It is 85° INSIDE MY HOUSE, with the upstairs area reaching 93°.
A technician came out once (Courtney) to identify the issue, and I had to turn the unit off to allow it to defrost. When it was charged with freon the next day, it worked for a couple hours before failing again. I walked outside to look at it and saw it had frozen up again.
In order to get any scrap of an update, I have to call in because their resident portal does not work (or at least mine doesn't).
So far, this has been a terrible, uncomfortable, downright painful experience and I will be seeking legal assistance to terminate my lease should this not be resolved expeditiously.
Also, the lockbox codes to get the keys do not work and I have not been contacted with information as to how to get them. Currently I can only access the property via the smart lock and the garage.
Mainstreet renewal customer service is a joke. Every time you call, the representatives read from a scrip and tell you the exact same BS. When asked to speak to a supervisor they tell me they do not exist. We had our final walk thru and was told everything was perfect and nothing needed to be done. We are at day 40 and have heard nothing from the company. I have texted, called, and emailed and never get a response. When you call they tell me to be patient! I have been patient and as of today, they are out of compliance per FL law. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. THEIR PRICES ARE SO MUCH HIGHER. YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER AND THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS.
Ms renewal is company, you pay application fee and they do nothing to assist when there is a problem and want you to pay another application fee when the problem is with the link they email to you! Beware, indian scammers! This company stole 100$ from me. And the lady on the phone is incredibly rude, disrespectful and will double talk you! Be aware you had you money over to when doing a application!
Excelente servicio yTheir work team has a very good attitude before problems arise and above all they help you solve problems.

Worst property management company I have ever used. I have been dealing with a septic tank issue for close to a month now that still hasn't been resolved. On 5/17/24 Septic tank overflowed into the master bathroom shower and went through the wall into and under the master bedroom closet floor and into the dining room. 4 days later they send a tech out to "look" into the situation but stated that if the tank needs pumping, he could not do that. Really? Why are you even here then? He tried snaking main line from house to tank with no success. Digs up the line to ensure it's not broken. Removes inspection cover and low and behold, the tank is full. It took until the 23rd of May to get the septic tank pumped out. Now we are having an issue with having the drywall/floor that were soaked in raw sewage being replaced. Put another maintenance request in on the 31st of May for drywall repairs. Tech came out on 6/2/24, looked around, took some pictures and left. I get an email the next day stating that the work was completed. Again, really? Nice recipe for a case of cholera. I have been out of the house since the night of 5/17/24 living in hotel rooms that the property manager has only covered 3 day of and still paying rent. This is totally unacceptable and I have legal counsel lined up to take action. Do not… I repeat, do not rent from these legalized slumlords
Main Street Renewal has been horrible to work with. No one returns our calls or texts, even after being promised someone would reach out. They are a total scam and fraud. Do not waste your time or money with this laughable company.
The home was not move-in ready on the day of move-in which was scheduled 3 weeks out. MSR did not perform a walk-through to prepare the home for me. The home was filthy starting at the garage and extending to the back door. Dead roaches and small live roaches were noted in the home. Started to move and had to abandon the task due to all the bedroom carpets were covered with pet hair. Since I have an allergy to cats, I immediately experienced feeling of runny nose, itchy eyes, sneezing, and hives. I had to vacate the home to prevent breathing complications. Notified MSR of pet allergies and it took almost three weeks for someone to be assigned to finally clean the carpets to rid them of the pet hair, odor, and dander. The stains remain. You have 14 days to complete the move-in checklist. Thankfully, my daughter was able to complete this for me. Uploaded list with photos documenting all the filth. MSR sent out a technician to perform a "walk-through" two weeks after the initial move-in date. No cleaning was done. The house remained filthy. I was instructed to ask for a rental concession after the move-in was completed. Once the carpets were cleaned, I was able to move in. However, the rental concession was denied because the house was "habitable." MSFR does not look at the checklist or photos or consider health concerns due to filth and allergies from unclean home. I wish I had read all the reviews before using the company. I would not recommend MSR to my enemy. Included a few photos of some of the filthy areas.
Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
Answer: Indeed! Integrity n honor is of no value with MSR! Hopefully they will re-evaluate their company and greed will not control them! No one has a clue of each other in the business system they run!
