The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the efficiency and support of specific staff members during the leasing process, highlighting a seamless experience and quick move-in times. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding service delays, inadequate maintenance, and poor communication. Many customers reported unresolved issues, including mold and plumbing problems, alongside frustrations over application fees and lack of responsiveness from management. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the recurring complaints suggest a need for improved customer service and property management practices to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.

Stilled owed $711 from this company! Fought for months, of which they agreed I am owed, and even made a fake invoice indicating they'd send me my check. I've never received it. DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY! You have been warned.
I recently rented a home, where the "management' company is based out of TX. Even though my rental property is in NC. They will not help you! I have been in my home for 5 days, with NO hot water! None. Called the "company"... with the understanding that the staff speaks little, to no English. Upon expressing my concerns, I was met with an email of " did you do this"... eleviating their responsibility as a management company to my concerns as a renter. Do not ever, rent a property outside of TX.
You will be left on your own. As a Nurse, Nurse of 19 years, I have never been subjected to this money grab, ever. My sons and u deserve better than thus ill begotten company.
Do NOT Rent from Main Street Renewal. Ever.

Wow, do not rent from this company. The home was filthy prior to moving in. Disgusting. I contacted them a few times and they will not respond to me. They had several weeks to have it cleaned. Black mold in the freezer, dirty refrigerator, mouse feces in closets, food stuck on cupboards, drawers not cleaned out, pantry had old food, the house was not painted but putty was put on the walls, dirty floors and baseboards, under the fridge is disgusting, sticky shelves and cupboards, dirty stove, food splatter on walls, unkempt yard, the list literally goes on. A gas fireplace was advertised but it does not work and does not have all the parts. One door won't open and the door nob fell off right away. One door won't close. Transition wood isn't attached and I stabbed my foot on a safety pin on the floor. They literally do not care. I regret my decision to sign with them and am disappointed in their service and quality. I would be disgusted with myself if I ran this company.
Regarding their response of contacting me. I received an email asking for more information and emailed back multiple times. They are the ones that did not respond. They literally don'tok care at all. Take my advice, do not rent from this company!
After paying the $100 application fee ($50 per person), I received an email on 11/18 stating that the property we applied for was leased to someone else. However, on 11/21, the agent called to inform us that they had to remove the property from their listings because an unauthorized homeless person was living inside and had vandalized the home.
I requested a refund of our application fee due to this situation but was refused. They essentially scammed us out of $100 because of their failure to adequately secure and exercise due diligence for their property. Despite their insistence that we consider renting another property they manage, I have decided never to engage with this company again.
It is highly dishonest to claim a property is rented to someone else when, in fact, it is inoperable due to their own negligence. Yet, I'm the one out $100? I wouldn't trust this company to be my landlord if this is how they conduct themselves during the application process.

We have been trying to rent a home for over a week. Horrible experience, no one can give an answer just that it it another 24-48 hours for another team to go the next step, they asked for our personal documents over and over again putting all of our personal information online repeatedly. Horrible!
They rented me a roach-infested home and told me I was responsible for pest control. I kept my things packed because I knew I was not renewing. Any time you have a maintenance request, they randomly send someone and then try to charge you for the wasted visit when you're not home. They kept almost $1,000 of my security deposit and my home was left in pristine condition. They kept randomly charging me a late rent fee when I was never late, and I had to keep calling to have it removed, but when my last month was actually late and I requested my "one-time courtesy", they said I was given several, although they could clearly see that these were errors on their part. A neighbor who tormented us, called county about my grass being too high and county put a note asking me to cut my grass. Because of this, Main Street charged me $25. At move-out, I asked for a 3-day additional time extension and they approved it, then charged me the entire month. When I paid only the 3 days, they charged me a late fee. I called every day and the only people you can speak to have no authority what-so-ever and robotically repeat that they have sent an email and someone would get back to me. I have never received a call-back after calling them over 25 times and being told someone would call me. The only call I ever received was from someone offering me $750 off to renew my lease and asking me why I would not renew. I told them they were crazy and that they could read my list of calls and complaints. Unless I could afford to pay a lawyer, they get to keep my money. I feel so helpless...
It has been a nightmare since we moved in. First they moved us into a house where they knew the septic tank was collapsed. Their maintenance men told us they were advised to hide the issue. We had no bathroom for over 3 months before it was fixed. I had to contact the better Business bureau to even get a call. My current problem is my AC broke last month. The contract clearly states they are responsible for repairs. We are responsible for changing the filter which we do. On our rent statement there was an extra $600 tagged on for AC repairs. When we inquired after you are finally able to get through to a person that does not speak English, we were told that they believe the AC breaking was our fault so we had to pay or be evicted. They even charged us a late fee because we had no idea that there was an extra $600 added on. Can't get a call back proof of repair or anything. I suggest everybody who has a problem with this company email the president and their attorney at *******@amherst.com and *******@amhert.com. Even though there are no better than their company.
I recently moved in a home in Aurora, co. I have been in the home less than a week. The day we moved in we smelled gas. Called Mainstreet Maintenace and they advised we call the power and gas company as well as put in a ticket to have issue fixed. We did as advised, the gas company came out and red tagged my home and shut off the gas due to the leak being in the main gas valve of the furnace and water heater. My family and I have been 6 days now with no heat or hot water. There are countless other things wrong with the home that we haven't even started to be able to report due to be so concerned with the heat. There are structural issues, foundations not sealed from the outside, rodents seen in the home, and so many more! I have been told my ticket was being treated as an emergency, been told it been escalated and nothing has come of it yet. I am 6 days into my lease, and this is the worst experience that my wife or I have ever had.
BEWARE. I got SCAMMED out of 100$ in application money. I applied for a home a couple weeks ago and was later to see the home pulled from the market and got a call saying the home actually wasn't available. Which is fine if they gave me my money back. But I called and they said it was impossible since it says "non refundable". Even though the house I applied for was not even available! A complete scam. ALSO. When i applied they charged me $300 total for application, thank god they refunded me the extra money but If I didn't check and ask? If you find a home by them DO NOT APPLY. I want my money back!

These people has been scamming me since day one they charge me a septic fee I live in fl we don't have them. They serve me a three day notice made me pay them for serving them While I've paid my rent on time every month then they serve me a fake eviction and charge me 500 for they fake eviction that never made it to clerk of courts these people have me in debt trying to keep up with all they extra fees for nothing they just want u to always have a remaining balance
I have been late on my rent but not more than 30 days. I have always caught back up. I Have had some financial issues and it DOESNT help that I get nickle and dimed and my rent has increased 3 times in 3 years - Last month I was short 100 dollars on the rent which was their 100 dollar fee for being late to begin with. They charged me a 350 dollar fee and put it in "eviction status"... I get I was late... but charging someone 350 dollars when they already are struggling is predatory. I also again. Was not more than 30 days late.which in missouri is the MINIMUM to begin eviction process - As far as I know nothing has been actually filed, but this makes it impossible to get caught up in good standing. You ask for help and you get nothing. For 3 months I was lied to about past fees that they were supposed to take care of... They didnt because my account "Wasnt paid in full"...I couldnt pay my account in full because of the past fees... Its a vicious cycle. Took them 8 months to fix a cracked sinking patio in the back yard which made us look like complete trash. This is a nice neighborhood and we have to look like a bunch of hoosiers. Clearly this company is making money hand over fist...especially with teh 350 dollar fees they charge people - This wasnt in my first lease.and then they started doing it year 2... What was I supposed to do? Go some where else in a housing market that is awful? I get the stipulation is there...but again... when you are milking every bit of money out of me. How am I supposed to have a chance.,
After 10 months of submitting Maintenace request for HVAC repair (heat and AC) and a recent gas leak. Today, after informing Mainstreet Atlanta of the BBB investigation and attorney I've hired, they deleted all Maintenace request from the company portal. Thankfully, I had a feeling they might and had already taken pictures and emailed to those who will be assisting me in winning this case. All I asked for was my grandchildren (2 and 15) to live in a home with heat, air, hot water and gas for cooking. Mainstreet has failed on purpose to resolve these issues. To date, there has been no relocation or certified technician to fix the CODE VIOLATIONS Atlanta Gas and Light has requested prior to turning the gas back on. This is day 7 of living in inhabitable conditions and 11 months of HELL due to Mainstreet negligence. Instead of fixing the issue so that we can enjoy the bare necessatires we pay for and were promised in lease. They delete request that have already been seen by the best attorney in Atlanta and BBB. You guys are crooks

Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
Answer: Indeed! Integrity n honor is of no value with MSR! Hopefully they will re-evaluate their company and greed will not control them! No one has a clue of each other in the business system they run!
