You see. What they DON'T tell you is... The only thing that truly matters in the application process is your credit score. These people are a complete scam. I put in an application for a rental paid the $100 only to be denied 2 days later. Spoke to a Rep and advised we just sold our home and that debt is still on our credit report. She told us to view a few more homes and apply to the next one we liked and just simply add the proof of the sale our home to the application. We did... Paid an additional $100 for another application to be DENIED again. With nothing more than your credit is not good enough! They care more about your credit score than getting good paying people in their homes. Explains why they have TONS of houses for rent for months on end. With continuous emails of price reductions in our area. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY and look elsewhere
I have been dealing with this company since June of 2021 and it was alright at the beginning. Then, my boyfriend and I started to slightly fall behind on our rent (all of about 2 months worth). We had called in to try and set up payment arrangements so that we can get caught up and clear this balance. Their solution was to call and make a one time arrangement then to call again and make another arrangement. My boyfriend and I -having busy lives, working full time- forget to make another call and we suddenly get a notice from the company saying that we may be evicted and to contact them no later than a day that had already passed... Now we cant make any partial payments, we have to pay in full so that we do not get evicted.
My old complex that I lived in, let us make as many payments as we needed to catch up on our payments if we fell behind. But here, they give you a late notice that'll arrive late in the mail and immediately put you in an eviction status... Thanks so much, main street.

They will not fix anything and if they do after you complain and complain and complain, they will send you a bill. You will be lucky if talk to someone in the US when you call the resident line and if they have any idea how to help you. If your AC goes out and its 89 degrees in your house, too bad! They will take 2 weeks to send someone out unless you can prove your house is at 90 degrees. If you lie and they find out its only 89 degrees, they will send you a bill. Maintenance never shows up without a phone call then leaves you a note that you weren't home when they show up randomly and THEN will write in the resident portal that the work was completed and close your request.
This leasing company is absolutely garbage. Dont rent from them!

This place is garbage! I put in a work order 22 days ago because my water heater was providing less than 15 minutes of hot water. On February 14th, I placed another because nobody had ever come out to fix it and water is now warm, not hot, and goes cold in 6 minutes. I have children in this home, one who is disabled, so hot water isn't a luxury for us, it is a necessity! I put a detailed complaint in with the BBB. I have faithfully paid by rent for 2 full years! This is ridiculous! 22 days now and nobody!

Whatever you do, do NOT go through this leasing company. It has been nothing but a horrific hassle from the day we signed the lease to now. Customer service is TERRIBLE, they will take weeks (if not months) to get back to you. If something is wrong/damaged with your property, they don't care. They won't send anyone out to fix it or even look at the situation. If you need to contact them with an urgent matter, once again, THEY DO NOT CARE. I've never seen a company this bad. I'm never one to leave negative reviews and usually I like to clear things up before any negativeness gets thrown around, but I can't stress this enough… do not give these people your money.

I don't know how this company is still in business. They are greedy and incompetent to the highest level. The bogus customer service team just gives you the run around when you have an issue. Your issue is never solved. I didn't rent with them. They bought the home I was already renting. It has been a nightmare ever since. They are horrible and they will reap what the sow. They won't be in business very long with way they do "business"

This company overcharges for everything a $250 pet deposit (nonrefundable) per pet as well as an additional $35 per pet added onto rent. It also costs $50 per person just to apply for the house. They give you a ten day window to move in immediately after finding out you got accepted. Makes it impossible to go from one rental property to theirs. Im currently renting a different home and need a new place to go, found one of their properties I love but I'm not willing to pay two rents at a time because they want me to move in ten days after finding out. They make no exceptions, go somewhere else or mainstreet renewal needs to fix their rules.

These people will not repair unless threatened. I'm enclosing photos of feces and gray water they let stay 3 months before repair. Horrible! Uninhabitable!
I put in an application and was told it was denied I was informed that a 2019 court filing was made for non payment however I was able to obtain my payment history and proof of dismissal I disputed with saferent to have that removed Off my credit I hope that MSR will look at my rental history and reconsider as I have no evictions or landlord tenant issues the house was beautiful and the process was quick

Hello everyone! I am just telling you if rent from these people, you have to be careful and follow through with everything. But sometimes when you follow through with everything, it still doesn't help. I signed my lease one week ago. When I went to go and have the water turned on in my name the next day, I was told by the water company that there was a balance on the account and that it must be paid in order for it to be transfered into my name. So, I did the right thing. I called Main Street Renewal. And I have called every day since then (except Saturday and Sunday). Every time they say that they will escalate the matter. Today I called and I informed them that I was getting an attorney if it was not taken care of today. I called them again (second time today) and the matter is still not resolved.
Everyone. I move in Saturday (in about a day and a half) and I do not have water in my name on the property. I will not have running water. I am floored beyond belief. I am astounded. What kind of business are you all running here? I called Morgan and Morgan. They do not deal with this type of issue, but the nice lady there referred me to someone who can. The stress of moving, along with everyone thing else is just too much. Ya'll need to get your stuff together. You are clearly violating my rights as a tenate. Water is a necessity.

It started with a complaint my first week into the home. FOUL ODOR coming from dining area next to kitchen and living room.
Odor so bad we were forced to live in our bedrooms and order takeout food.
They took 8 weeks to finally find extent of problem which was pet urine buildup under the floor, in the baseboards and even in some of the drywall. It was so saturated even the insulation was soaked with it. They made 2/3 attempts to just neutralize the odor by pouring stuff along floorboards to no avail.
Once the severity was uncovered they put us up in a hotel for 5 days to make repairs (which shows just how bad it was).
For 8 weeks i complained/begged that it was making us sick and we were forced to vacate main living areas to hide/live in bedrooms.
NOW... they are trying to blame it on MY pets and refuse any credit for those 8 weeks! And by the way... all my new neighbors know it was the previous owner who had several pets she left unattended everyday and would never allow anyone in her house!
My pets don't cause messes and I'm home with them 24/7. They "claim" i had an unauthorized pet in the home and are trying to charge me another deposit! (i have 2 pets on lease and have just 2 pets) so they denied the credit request!
First of all... NO one pet can cause that much damage in just one week! I reported problem in my first week here!
AND... if they were right then my home would be smelling again by now, 4 weeks after repairs, right? But its not! I keep a clean home always! Odor is gone now.
I have an impeccable LIFELONG history of leaving rentals better than I got them! ALL my prior landlords loved me! I ALWAYS pay on time! Always have!
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!
They're clsim has NOTHING to do with the the problem reported!
Not to mention, being new here to an HOA was told by HOA to not park work truck in driveway so we immediately stopped, no fine, just a freindly letter. Yet this company fines me for it. They never even informed me there was an HOA!
STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! They look for reasons to charge YOU more money! And blame tenants for problems that were their responsibility!

Just another company utilizing technology to serve themselves and not serve the consumers best interest. Everything that is wrong with corporate America wrapped up into one company. Customer service will try to steer you into getting the app & paying an application fee before answering a question. They also hung up on us. Imagine having a maintenance issue. We drove 2 hours to virtual view. Don't waste your time. Tons of bad reviews. We saw 2 houses with no back door. How is that not a Fire hazard? I would think companies who cared about the consumer would IDK have a back door in case of emergency. Main Street Renewal is an immoral company who lies to you starting on the first pic you see. The pics they post compared to what you will see. Photoshopped front yards and driveway extension as well. Please do like we did and dodge this bullet.

We attempted to apply for a property but the website did not accept my payment. We were then told to apply for another property and then request for a transfer to the property that we wanted. The customer service agents each said something different and did not help with anything. They also charged me $100 and delayed the process long enough for the house to be unavailable (based on the reviews I've been reading, it is possible that the house was never available despite the fact that is was posted on their website!). I made phone call after phone call to these customer service agents in an attempt to try and find out why my money was not being taken and the applications were not being accepted. They wasted my time and my $100! I thought the company we are renting with now was bad! Little did I know that a company would show its worst side before we even applied for the house! I am reaching out to my bank as I write this review to report the $100 as a fraudulent charge! Do not, do not, DO NOT waste your time with this pitiful company!

Do not rent do not give them money. They kicked children out during the holidays to have a empty place. Told us we could renew our lease and then 4 days later told us we couldn't and wouldn't take a phone call to save our life. I Hate this company and the evil greed it stands behind. Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
