Do not sign up for Mint Moble services. They have the worst customer service team that keeps you on the phone and run around in circles for 4 to 5 hours when you're trying to fix your cell phone they shut off my cell phone after I currently auto paid my bill and it took them over a week to get it turned back on And on about the problems I had with them, but it's not worth the stress of saving a couple bucks because you have to deal with fixing problems because their phones company doesn't work. It's not worth it. I don't recommend it.

The big picture is when I call mint they act as if they aren't aware that they have a service issue. So they pin it on Apple, I call Apple. They inform me it's a service issue. That's pretty obvious. I checked around on is it down. Turns out service is interrupted for a lot of people. I say it's a trash service. I'm ready to go somewhere else, going to shop around and see what I can find. $25 a month is hard to beat but I need consistency and reliability. And mint isn't that.

Bought international pass. Out of county cannot get customer service even on Wi-Fi calling.
All I can get a a chat box with no human available. Sent email to listed email address and got back no longer monitoring this email. Toll free number does not work from here.
Stuck and cannot call to check on sick elderly person. Pay the money and get a company that cares.

Avoid at al cost!

It's cheap, but it comes at the price of giving you a brain aneurysm any time you try to use it and anything doesn't go 100% as intended. The 3 weeks that my phone "broken" while I ordered a new battery, were the happiest 3 weeks of my entire year: because I wasn't constantly aggravated by mint mobile service working at 2% capacity, for any of their specific services on my cell phone. You might as well not have a phone...

Their customer service is like drinking beer that is piss and water, Ryan Reynolds is a liar and should be sued for false advertising. The only reason I gave this 2, not 1, stars/out of 5... is because it's cheap, but they really take advantage of their customers, and spit on them while they scrape for loose change to pay for the cell phone service. It's not as bad as Big Box telecom demanding our kids to carry on the debt of the parents, for 3 further generations on top of being drugged up enough to not care about what they're signing, metaphorically speaking. Though with mint mobile, you will get a brain clot the size of the signal bars (minimal size, no coverage) and have a stroke for how fastidiously frustrating it is, to use.

I hate mint mobile, and have legitimately lost so much of my life because of mint mobile being unreliable, and that's also accounting for the fact that I got cancelled by the trans/queer communities in that same amount of time, in debt to several grand, and stalked by gang bangers trying to end my life. Mint mobile is a worse thorn on my side! But it's cheap...

I plan to buy the Light Phone II and the 5gb/12 month plan from Mint Mobile, so I can simply count my losses and never deal with the insipid evils that come from using a smart phone, ever again.

The service and pricing are fine. The admin side of things is horrible. Wasted a bunch of time today because their emails don't have the correct specifics – ever. After my initial 3 month promo, I switched to 1 yr for the best price ($15 month when prepaid). The emails I got don't make it clear that I have switched - it appears that I am still on 3 mos after just changing to 1yr (it only lists my current plan and doesn't say anything about the year). Mint says that the email was just a confirmation of me having added a payment method and signing up for autopay. Very confusing. And then today I get an email encouraging me to get more savings by signing up for a year - despite the fact that I have already signed up for a year! This after they misinformed me initially, requiring multiple calls to straighten out THEIR mistakes. They used to be great, but now? FAIL!

I just got off the phone with Mint Mobile and they cannot "confirm or deny" that I can't measure my daily data. This is either with the Mint Mobile app OR my iPhone iOS 17.3.1

And when I posted to REDDIT it was automatically censored.
Use OCR on your phone to obtain the link to Perplexity.ai to illustrate this malfeasance with top brass at Mint Mobile.
Good luck identifying why your data is suddenly hitting its limit.

Horribel
March 21, 2024

Mint mobile is by far the $#*!tiest serving phone company for customer satisfaction ever I just bought a plan and try to use my wife as a referral now mind you I purchased the plan and try to add her within 10 hours of purchasing a plan as the referral she's been a customer with mobile for 2 years now I'm being told that I'm not allowed to add her as a referral which don't make no sense because most companies give you a little lead time for stuff like this promos and stuff I would just stay completely away because one thing I've learned is that they're not about their customers

Promise broken
March 21, 2024

I was with T-Mobile for 6 years
I received a offer via email stating if I use Mint. The limited offer I could have unlimited data for 15.00 a month for three months I then let the representative know ok let's do it I'll prepay the year. Once I activated my phone with Mint my said I only have a allowance of 5 GB per month. When I called to get what I was promised "unlimited data" they told me because I prepaid for a years plan Mint could not honor first time customer offer of unlimited data. I had to come out of pocket a additional 179.00 for unlimited data. What a shame they did not offer to prorate or only have unlimited for three months so I can try their services as solcited. I will add more stars when i get compensated for breaking their limited time deflation promise to their customers. This whole process took 7 days to finally activate my phone and two charges. Not so advanced for today's technology. Very simple to make custom fixes to plans without some much back and forth and telling my story with every rep I speak to.

My family of 4 have are on our 4th month of the Mint Mobile Unlimited (or "throttled at 40gb") plan. My daughters and I can't send pictures/sms msgs to each other, only texts, and data is always extremely slow, no matter if it's the beginning of the month or whenever. We've all come to believe that most likely, since we live in an urban area (100k population), T-mobile has deprioritized Mint Mobile here, permanently. I'm not sure how to get this confirmed, but we were T-mobile before changing to Mint & the network was NOT slow like this. But since Ryan sold out to T-Mobile, I don't feel so bad about giving Mint 2 or 3 stars.

Mint consistently overcharges on autopayments. I enrolled in a $15/month plan, but was charged $30/month instead. Despite providing all the documentation and screenshots confirming my agreed-upon charge, the company instructed me to dispute it with my credit card, as they couldn't issue a refund. They assured me they would correct the error for future charges to reflect the $15/month rate. However, six months later, I was once again charged $30/month. Since autopay is the only option, it's concerning that they consistently overcharge. I promptly switched carriers, as it seemed like a scam.

I purchased Minternational to get ready for my travel to Philippines. I purchased a 7 days pass and a 3 days pass. It cost me around 70 including tax. However, upon arrival in the philippines and activation of minternational, it didn't work. Fearing of being stranded at the airport, I decided to just purchase a new sim and data. I was so disappointed and upset, It felt like I was scammed by mint.

I switched to mint from Verizon. To be fair, I was on an outdated plan on Verizon unlimited calling and internet $70/month. Verizon offered to lower it to 50/month after I finally called them. Mint was offering 45/3months then 40/month after for unlimited calling and internet. However, mint does say there is throttling of internet after 40GB. I wiped out 40GB in the first 4 days. I am just finishing my first month, and after those four days I've felt like pulling my hair out half the time. It takes twice to three times as much time to complete simple tasks like ordering dog food, googling something. Half the time I forget what I was looking for while the pages load.
Was it worth the savings? Absolutely not. The wasted time and mental energy was not worth the potential $10/month savings. I will be looking to call Verizon back soon 🙁

Horrible company!
February 18, 2024

The $15 promo is only for 3 months then the price triples! And don't travel outside the country and buy an international pass, it won't work but they will still take your money because it's company policy. Don't trust Mint Mobile!

I am in Mexico. I bought international roaming credit with mint mobil to use when I do not have access to wifi. I have been with them for about 4 years. It had been working fine. Yesterday I received an email from mint mobile stating that my international roaming credit was now moved to my wallet and it gave some options for some ridiculously expensive international plans. Today my roaming no longer works. I spoke with a supervisor who said i need to buy a plan. 1 week is $40 and i am here for 2.5 more months. So...no. This number is connected to my business and now i am stranded without data. My only option to get a mex sim card but that will be a diff# thus affecting my business as well as then having to notify all contacts of my new number. They did this with no notice whatsoever! And the international roaming credit i bought can only be used to pay my bill or buy into this new plan. I cannot even use what I already bought! And again, no notice! On average i was using $20 a month of data and now they say it is $40 a week or $10 a day. I could get no help whatsoever from them. Do NOT use this service if you plan to travel. The no notice for such a big change is unacceptable!

I contacted Mint Mobile to connect my service on 12/3/2023. I went through 22 customer aggravation specialists. None of them successfully connected my service. They kept telling me that they would have someone call me back from the advanced department and nobody ever did. I was told that I would receive a refund due to them not connecting my service. I was told I would get an email in 3 business days refunding my $73.00 back to my bank. I never did, so I called them back and they confirmed my account was not active.
Today, I received an email that my account needed payment. I called the 23 customer aggravation specialist, and they said that I didn't get the refund as I didn't cancel within 7 days. This is utter bull****! What a shady company. They gave me 14 + days of run around claiming a customer service rep would get back to me, "Please don't give up. We will get your service connected." I kept trying but nobody ever called back like they promised and I had to keep circling back with them. I waited on the phone again today for a supervisor and nobody ever came back. What a bunch of crooks and scumbags!

Mint Mobile is by far the worst company I have ever worked with. After mire than 5 years if being a client I mistakenly added a purchase request of 1 gb of data to my account not knowing my data pocket would get renewed tomorrow. One I figured that out, I contacted the customer service and asked for a refund while I hadn't used any amount of the newly purchased extra data. The customer service surprisingly told me that there is a policy that they can't refund anything being purchased from them. Be aware, this is a scam company and all the transactions you do with them is going to be one-way. I seriously recommend you to use other companies when it comes to choose a provider. Mint is a zero-customer service company.

First I would like to inform anyone researching before switching cellphone providers, that the "Mint Mobile Website" only has fake reviews. Like any clever A.I. Algorithm, they include one or two one-star reviews to make you feel that it is legitimate. If you explore, you will find there is actually NO WAY to write an actual review for this company. (Again VERY clever and rather maniacal.)
Additionally, I would not switch to Mint Mobile unless you enjoy not receiving text messages regularly and not being able to use the data on your phone in most locations. They claim to use the same T-Mobile coverage and yet have far worse service, reception, and data availability. I had T-Mobile previously and am looking to cancel my Mint mobile service so that I can go back to actual, reliable service and so that I can use my phone in any capacity.
I paid for three months and will allegedly get three months free. This service is so terrible that after two months, I'm ready to quit and switch. There's no way I will keep such shotty service for another second! I actually need my phone and I need it to work. Silly right? So, in short, if you want a cell service that allows you to make and receive calls, texts, and use data (you know, the reason we all have cell phones) then don't sign up for this quack of a service! It will not work.
*Side note: you can tell their reviews are lies when you can see the discrepancy in their supposed "reviews". They're website claims they have a 4.2 star rating. Every other website I have seen rarely gives Mint Mobile more than 1-1.7 stars; which I feel is much more of an actual reflection of their horrid product. Don't waste your time or money.

I've had Mint Mobile for a while. I use a 3-month plan. In December, I recharged my plan for 3 mos, which was to be $75. They charged me $135 for 6 mos automatically, which was terrible timing, but I decided at least I don't have to think about it until June, per the info provided in my account.

Today, they suspended my account for non-payment! I called and referred them to my plan and transaction history. They continued to tell me it was time to renew and the payment failed! After more than 15 minutes of repeating myself, they decided to send this to the "back office" for review, as they could see what I was talking about, yet would not simply resolve this with integrity.

My phone still isn't working.

I am starting here, but I certainly am not stopping here - I'm blowing it up!
