No customer service
October 12, 2023

I purchased brand new Samsung Galaxy S10e. Phone came defective. I only get delay tactics and buck passing. No help from customer service. One especially good delay tactic was for Mint Mobile customer service agent to enter the information incorrectly and not say anything. At no time do they reach out to you to update.

All I can say is do not believe anything you see or hear from Mint Mobile. They go on national media claiming what seems to be a great price...however they cleverly veil the fact that the quoted prices are only if you purchase 12 month blocks of service. Mint Mobile also has their own definition of 'Unlimited'. Unlimited to Mint Mobile means either 40 or 60 GB of 'high speed data', depending on the plan. I was a Sucker for falling for their slick 'Hipster' vibe. Don't make the same mistake. MINT MOBILE CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

Got off work tonight at 5:30. Called Mint within a couple of mins. Spoke to a Paul, for a credit for months of Jul/Aug/Sept on 55+ plan. Said he could see a ticket from July to do this, but it didn't get done. Today's date is 10/5/23. He was creating a new ticket, going to give me Ticket #. Dropped the call. I called again-got an Angel. She dropped the call. Called a 3rd time, got an Edie--she said she saw my ticket from July, and that it was closed. Said wrong dept-would transfer me--did so, and then I am hearing hold info for Apple! Talked to that agent, told him I was on the line with Mint, and rep transferred (somehow) to Apple! (And no--I don't have Apple's phone # on my phone--as I have an Android). Hung up. Called a 4th time, got Rose--she said, don't worry, I won't drop the line. Then found out I was wanting credit on 55+account. "I need to transfer you to 55+line". She transferred me to an Alex. After talking, I found out she was in Sales! She then transferred me to an "L", which after more talk, said he was a Mint Advisor. He finally WARM transferred me to Leah (the 7th rep), a few minutes under 2 hours (repeat! 2 hours) of time. She at least didn't drop me, and seemed to want to help me & (big AND) was finally from the correct department (55+!). I am completely serious about this. I don't lie or embellish things. I hate when people do do that. I can't believe I wasted this much of my evening. I was getting so frustrated and po'ed. The worst customer service in history?! I am a cust svc rep myself and we are not allowed to give this kind of service! I can only credit my calling back and staying on the line (finally) to my shear tenacity, perseverance and stupidity (obviously). 8:19 pm: Just hung up line with Leah (found out--again, with Leah--that she is regular customer svc also-but a slightly different area (?). She at least did a ticket & gave me the number-no promises to get our money back though. After all of this, I still have to call *******538 to actually get on the 55+ plan. Apparently, even though the July rep (when this started) changed my plan--which appears to be correct on my account--it is still not an "official" 55+ plan. I would have no way of knowing this! So, due to this: my history does not show history of us being on the 55+ plan for July/Aug/Sept--so may not get approved for getting our credit back! Omg! What a waste of time, and so freaking frustrating!

Stranded Overseas
October 5, 2023

Their international calling service is horrible and no one knows how to fix it or even seems to care one way or another. I spent literally 16 hours over the course of a month or more trying to deal with their support staff who just tried the same thing over and over and over again and somehow expecking a different result.

Absolutely terrible service.

Boiler room tactics
October 4, 2023

Mint Mobile in my opinion is a scam I've been lied to on numerous calls and scared out of $700 the phone sent to my daughter can't be activated but they show 569mg used and 3 text sent I've been hung up on 7 times, given false numbers to call and blatantly lied to and Mint Mobile can care less. I'm a disabled vet and the phone is for my college bound daughter no working phone no available recourse and no refund alls I wanted was a real able way to keep in touch with my child. U people should be ashamed but of coarse its all about profit or precieved profits. Stop cooking the books u don't need to add on false charges Do you?

This company is the most god-awful company ever derived. Not only could they not make my phone work, the customer service was so bad I had to call back nine times in a 3-day period. Then when I sent my phone back, all they wanted to ask for is proof that I sent it back. This after they sent me the label to send the phone back to them. Now, I'm going to be charged for a phone I no longer have and they cannot find. How does this company stay in business? They suck!

Horrible roaming - rip off
September 28, 2023

I purchased international roaming when traveling in the UK. The service was activated but never worked. It was pretty much nonexistent. I requested my money back for the "service" I was unable to use, but they refused to issue any refund. What a scam!

After 26 yrs I left ATT Wireless. I was one of their rare Foundation Accounts. Keeping customers was no longer their agenda. I reviewed many carriers & chose Mint. CS is polite BUT not everyone is knowledgeable w/the transfer prodicol/procedure/tech. After 2 days, 2 supervisors, 6 reps I got rep Jose & he completed my connection to Mint. I almost canceled (7-day grace period). There are many consumers that live in rural areas that have no cell service & rely on Wi-Fi calling/texting when home. That's my situation & my acct couldn't be activated w/o being w/in a cell tower service range. That was explained by rep Mary day 2. If the service remains dependable I plan to stay (hopefully another 26 yrs+). Saving $64 month/$768 annually for 2 lines & more data w/Mint. If you rely on Wi-Fi calling be sure to be in a metro area or dark green coverage area (per Mint map) to port your number/transfer & unlock your phone.

Mint Mobile just stole $130.37 from me because I do not have the service and they say they can't refund a payment from my credit card. DO NOT USE MINT MOBILE as their business practices are fraudulent and I think illegal. The refund policy they state on their site that says they will refund 100% for any reason is a lie!

Joined Mint Mobile January 2022 with a Motorola 5G Stylus (2021). Before I joined I entered my IMEI # to see compatibility on the home page, and it came back 100% LTE & 5G Compatible. Then I went to "https://www.mintmobile.com/features/wifi-calling-text/" to see if I was WIFI Calling & Texting Compatible and it came back Yes on Both. Fast forward 18 Months, I've now lost 5G & Wifi Calling & Texting. When I test compatibility now on the Mint mobile website, I am no longer 5G Calling, Wifi Calling or Texting Compatible. Stay clear of Mint Mobile so you don't get burned like me. I am now locked in for a year with a 5G phone that has no 5G capability with this carrier any longer. The graphic used to say I was 5G LTE Excellent. I don't understand how they get a way with doing that. I'm sure it was T-Mobile who dumped me and who knows how many others! Mint is a subsidiary of T-Mobile and they do what ever they want and not beholding to anyone!

Did they just steal my $53 bucks?!?
September 19, 2023

I've been trying for a week to transfer my existing number. Did they just steal my $53 bucks?!? I was kept waiting in their "Chat" for over two hours last night until I couldn't wait any longer. Next time I checked my open chat with them it had timed out and now I have to start over. I don't have time for this. Very frustrating customer service.

LIARS and THIEVES!
September 17, 2023

I am disappointed with the service provided by Mint Mobile. My daughter and I signed up for a family plan in March of 2023, which I understood to be $75.00 every three months for both lines, with additional fees and taxes bringing the total to $82.23. However, since March, I have been charged a total of $412.83, which exceeds the yearly cost by $102.18.

I reached out to Mint Mobile to address the discrepancy, but they refused to listen and cited the renewal date of each phone as the reason for the additional charges. I find this explanation confusing since it is a family plan, and I am disappointed that Mint Mobile refused to refund me the $102.00 or waive the charges for the rest of the year since it is already paid in full.

No Data!
September 17, 2023

I switched to Mint using a 3 month card 15.00 per month to start. I thought I had purchased the unlimited everything plan only to find out 5 days in that the 5GB was hidden on the back of the card. I was out of data in less than 5 days. I purchased the card from Target so the money back in under 7 days doesn't apply. This has been a really long month with a lot of trips to the library! I think 5GB is cheap and miserly from Mint/Boost/Tmobile period. Thank goodness I kept my account from the last carrier. I will be switching back after this month. The next 2 months (I've already paid for them) are worthless. I do not recommend Mint if you use data. It's not an even remotely good deal! What a huge let down. They need to catch up with the current unlimited everything plans for under 50.00.

I lost my phone a few days ago (an unfortunate event, but something that happens and a phone carrier could reasonably anticipate in the realm of possibilities).
I ordered a replacement SIM card that was delivered very quickly. So far so good.
But then, the problems begin. To activate the SIM card, they send a text to your phone number. Not very convenient when you... lost your phone.
Then, I get on a call with customer service. They ask you to give 5 local numbers you called recently. Again, not exactly the kind of data you have readily available on hand when YOU HAVE LOST YOUR PHONE (duh). I explained the situation. They said they would bypass these guidelines, and it would be solved in the next few hours. And then nothing.
I call again, and again, they ask for these 5 local numbers. I was lucky enough that I had another phone and call data somehow synchronized (God bless Apple!) between the two phones. But otherwise, what are you supposed to do? I guess your phone number is just lost forever, as they literally have no other process to verify your identity.
I have been 2 years with Mint mobile. Not anymore.

WORST SERVICE
September 14, 2023

I have service with Mint Mobile, and my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. I chose this company because they promised a specific amount of data per month in a reasonable price. Unfortunately, they have failed to deliver on their promises, and it's been incredibly frustrating.

First and foremost, I've had constant issues with my service and data. I've found myself facing data throttling and limitations regularly. It's incredibly frustrating when you can't use your mobile services as intended due to their lack or signal.

To make matters worse, their customer service is the worse. I've paid for data overages that were supposed to be included in my plan. This month I did not receive it whatsoever. This is completely unacceptable.

On top of all this, the customer support from Mint Mobile has been utterly unhelpful. I've spent countless hours trying to resolve these issues, only to be met with poor communication and no resolution.

All these problems have been a major inconvenience in both my personal and professional life. I chose Mint Mobile based on their marketing, and I expected to receive the services I paid for. Unfortunately, they have failed to meet even the most basic expectations.

I strongly advise against choosing Mint Mobile as your mobile service provider. Their inability to honor their service and provide the promised service coverage and data allocation has left me with no choice but to look for better alternatives. It's a frustrating and disappointing experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Lies, lies, lies
September 13, 2023

My phone was stolen. I am 8 days into trying to get a replacement, still with no luck. The CS reps are both incompetent and directly lie.
- I called and was told a replacement SIM was being sent to me. It was never ordered.
- I tried to activate the SIM that came with the new phone that I ordered online. They told me they would activate it within hours. Lie. They didn't... and never called me to tell me that they didn't.
- I ordered a replacement SIM myself. I couldn't activate myself, because... they texted me a confirmation code to the replacement SIM phone number LOL!
- I created a ticket. Another 24 hours to wait. Rep told me it's "expedited". It wasn't - I checked with another rep later in the day, and they had no idea what that means. Lies.

Who knows if I'll ever have service again. All I know is that the team

I have had mint 1 month. And it is absolute trash compared to my last plan, page plus. I thought unlimited at a lower price sounded amazing.

The service is atrocious. Customer service, atrocious. And it seems they are somehow fixing the review availability of their product.

Ryan Reynolds is the face of suck. Cancelling mint, and never watching Ryan Reynolds again!
