What the $#*! like ya'll already suck why make it worse and make a selling fee!? I am leaving! Done with the bull $#*!! I would'nt even give ya'll a 1 for the rating if there was another option it would be 0.
This site is a joke the highes fees ever bad customers service and they should be shotdown they did not care about the customer and seelers all they care is to make money they are ripping people off i would never recomend to no one.
I sold a lularoe item that was just released so it was selling for $275. A buyer with no prior reviews bought it and I was hesitant but did the sale anyway. When the leggings came she refused to open the door for the mailman and a week later when they actually got her she refused the package. She had 0 communication for a week then a crappy I don't want it attitude. Mercari was so unhelpful you get these copy/paste responses and they were like don't worry we will cancel the transaction and refund your buyer and you will get your item back in 15 days. By the time I got it back I took a 150$ loss, including the shipping. I didn't even get to rate the horrible buyer they just gave her a refund and didn't care they were breaking their own policies. Don't sell on this product. They don't protect sellers at all. I had 21 prior transactions and they treated me like crap. When I asked for a manager they locked my post so I could no longer type. Stick to eBay they have phone numbers and follow their rules.
So I sold a duvet on the site. The person rated me then decided a day later that I guess they didn't want it... not really sure. Somehow they contacted Mercari and they are reviewing the transaction and took the $260 away from me. That was 10 days ago and I haven't heard from them back yet. What should I do?
I sold a Coach Wallet on there the person didn't rape me but he did text me on there telling me he got it so Merceri knows they received the item but refuses to give me my money saying I didn't hav a tracking number... Don't use them they do nothing but steal people's money!
I wish I could give them a negative -5. I'm never doing business with these guys again. I have real estate houses I rent and flip. I also have a cosmetics business. We sell and buy constantly on eBay, jet, Amazon and more. Me and my husband spend $6,000-$10,000 a month online alone. I Thanked them for suspending me for 24hrs and sending me scolding letter and punishing me like a child. Over something so stupid to. All because stock photos. 1 mistake that I overlooked. EBay Amazon and other sites allow stock pictures. I didn't know they didn't allow. I'm so glad they offened before I put my $60,000 worth inventory on your site. I have contacted people I've bought from on that site and asked them to cancel if they haven't shipped. I'm glad I was on vacation this week and did not spend more money from that site.
With all this and I had a seller from this site arguing with me when she sent me a purse with rust on it. We went through PayPal and formed a complaint. It was obvious they have a superior attitude. I have only returned 2 things all this year on Amazon and eBay and the sellers was nice. I copied and pasted their letter below concerning the terrible thing I did... By putting stock photos on their wall.

I sold a purse on there a couple days ago. Well they send me a fedex pre shipment label. I take the presgipment label to fedex... it was not a label. I wind up paying over $20 out of my own pocket. Then I ask them since I paid for shipping myself and provided proof with photos that I paid myself will they at least not take the $6 out for shipping. So they charge me for a label that isn't being used. I provided the tracking # that I purchased. I actually think I'm being very reasonable only asking them not to charge me for shipping for the label I did not use. I get a response that they cannot reimburse me since the tracking label has done been issued. That is not true. As well as I feel it is fraudulent to charge for a service that wasn't used. It's only $6 but I'm sure this happens several times a day. This is a site that people use to sell items that have been dumpster dived ex cosmetics knock off hand bags, and more items that aren't regulated or sanitary. This horrible site is a host for scammers as well as selling items that are illegal. I have saw several counterfeit items and they do absolutely do not treat honest legitimate people such as myself with any regard. If you are a decent legit person stick with a reputable site like ebay. I don't know if this is some seedy third world country who FTC laws do not apply or what the deal is, but this is a very shady operation that does not care how they treat anyone. You have absolutely no protection as a buyer or a seller. I regret giving them my banking info but will be contacting my bank to make sure that no undesirable withdraws are made. I sold a 358.00 authentic purse with tags for $85. Which now that I have complained to them I'm afraid I will not get my money. I wanted to note it on a public forum because if for some reason they take my money, it's basically like they have stolen my purse. I have proof I sent it, I have proof it was purchased. So, if they block me out of my account I will take action. But whoever is in charge of regulating Internet sites, this place totally needs to be investigated. Please stay away from this site, they offer no help or concern. Stick with ebay it's worth the extra little bit just to be protected.

As others mentioned, stay away. Customer support is non existent. That's fine if you don't ever encounter any problems. Buyers can literally rip off sellers by making false claims and returning different items or nothing at all.
If i can give this app zero stars I would. Way too many scammers and absolutely no protection for the seller. Unless you like getting ripped off and scammed please stay away. Once I get the shoes I bought and I'm able to rate the seller I will be deactivating my account, and Mercari you scammers you can keep the money you stole from me and that lying scammer of a customer can keep that $50 chemise she stole. I am officially done with this lack of customer service and your rules that let scammers run rampant in this app ripping off honest people
I have over 200 positive reviews. I was asked to trade and denied due to mercari rules. The next day my account was deactivated for 24 hours because the word TRADE was mentioned in the exchange. Hundreds of scammers and dishonest people on the site and they do NOTHING. What kind of customer service do they employ_ another time they held up a direct deposit because someone disputed the item after they had rated and released funds. Although the item was $250 in question they held up $350 that was coming to me. Ended up getting resolved but a week passed before I got my money. Mercari is dishonest and scammers themselves.
A greedy Mercari scammer is offering $5 on Craiglist if you use his/her referral link and send screenshots but they get the referral rewards but don't send the $5. The ad said if its still up the ad is still good. They ignored emails and then later pulled the add. It should be hard for Mercari to find the user through their referral code RTKAWU which I reported. This is not the way I want to try a new website by being tricked and scammed so I won't use Mercari and boycott it until they fix this matter. This user shouldn't get referral rewards by scamming potential new customers that should be against TOS and get them banned. Lets see if Mercari cares about the info I sent them by email.
Mercari has no protection at all for sellers, if you sell and item and the buyer claims they did not get what was described in the photo, Mercari will grant them a refund and as long as they use their shipping label they can literally send you an empty package, that is exactly what happened to me the buyer kept the item and sent me back an empty package. The buyer was given her refund and I was scammed. I contacted the postal service and they confirmed the package had no contents and I sent mercari the proof and they responded back me to after 3 days saying its too late buyer was already refunded. It is a horrible horrible company! I took all my items off the site as I will not allow myself to ever get scammed again. Shame on Mercari!

I can understand if I make a mistake, but after a week of not telling me, it seems to me you were just to lazy to figure out the problem and just suspended me cause you could. I can't buy, sell, comment or like ANYTHING! Fix this!
Mercari is my favorite app to sell and buy on. Because customer service isn't the best, it's up to the buyer to check out ratings of the seller. Why buy from someone who already has bad ratings and then get upset when you're not satisfied? I have only had great experiences by selling to people who obviously understand the rating system and have nothing but great ratings. Items you cannot buy on here safely regardless of ratings are makeup, electronics, and accessories for phones. Many times they are used, broken, defected, or cheap. There is a reason Sephora and Apple exist-- Mercari should only be used for secondhand items such as books they're tired of, clothing that is old or not the correct size, gently worn shoes, and minor household items or toys. Do not buy anything that is considered "designer" on here-- it is most likely the $1 EBay unauthentic edition bought from China and resold for $50. Do not sell to buyers who do not have ratings. They may ask for a refund and attempt to scam you. Only buy items that obviously have time put into them-- if a shirt is wrinkly and on the bedroom floor when it's pictured, can you really be upset when it comes smelling bad and has pet hairs all over it? Only buy from people who put effort into their photos and descriptions. If it does not have a description, ask questions instead of blindly buying.
Responsibility for transactions is up to the buyer and seller, knowing how customer support is. If someone even has one bad rating, don't do it unless the rater themselves stated it was accidental. If you follow the guidelines I've shared, you will only have a happy experience on Mercari.
I ordered and outfit that was priced cheaper then poshmark I figured I'd take a chance it guarenteed 1-2 days to ship and like the others that have left bad reviews I got no response from customer service. I got very anxious because I specifically ordered outfit for a special occasion and then I get a response a day later from seller stating she lost her phone and access to apps and she couldn't afford the shipping to overnight the package. She cancelled the order and stated she was sorry! I was upset because this was a major inconvenience. The money was already debited from my account and they didn't refund me right away. I understand things happen but this was not a good first impression. I'm not blaming seller I'm empathetic when it comes to things beyond our control. Ultimately it was customer service who is accountable for this mistake. They should have responded sooner.
Ordered new makeup. Received used makeup. Took over 24 hours for them to respond to emails. Finally threatened to dispute charge. Then they sent me a return label but gave me 3 days to get in mail (over weekend and I was out of town). I sent it anyway. We'll see if they send me my credit. Hate this company!
