Worst app ever

They should change their name from mercari to blocking app because they block u for all the small reasons on planet earth they have the worst customer service ever which takes approx 2 years to respond to ur issues. And they should be given an award for "the garbage app" POSHMARK IS WAY BETTER! Don't deal in mercari! The one who runs this app is a complete "IDIOT " and a PARANOID nutcase

They are in japan. With a California po box. They have NO customer service links in app or anywhere. No way to contact them with issues. They will arbitrarily ban buyers and sellers. Look it up. They will keep your money or give unfair refunds if you sell something. You will not be protected as a buyer or seller. Site full of fakes but they ban legitimate sellers. My opinion is they run the fake seller accounts to make money.

Awful scam

Few things happened. I sold an item that first of all, the buyer received it and did not rate me as a seller, which is stupid because the buyer needs to rate you as great or poor seller before you get paid. So after waiting and waiting to be paid, or be reviewed, they buyer requested a refund. Great! Ship my stuff back and you can have your money screw this site. What a dumb rule after being rated get paid. Anyhow, there is no way to accept the return. Its been requested and I cannot approve it. I want to badly, get my stuff back because I paid for it to! Then all of a sudden I ghet a message saying its been cancelled.? So what now theres no way to get my money back? They can buy from you, not review you as a seller and request a return or a cancel? Well guess im out money and that buyer scammed me. Bull$#*! site. Should have just stuck with EBAY

BAD APP

IVE HAD A MERCARI APP FOR OVER A YEAR AND MY DAUGHTER CAME HOME FROM COLLEGE AND GOT HER OWN ACCOUNT WITH THE SAME ADDRESS AND MERCARI DELATED BOTH. MULTIPLE PEOPLE IN THE SAME HOUSE CANNOT HAVE ACCOUNT THEY WILL SHUT DOWN WITHOUT NOTICE. I HAD OVER 200 ITEMS LISTED WHICH TOOK HOURS TO PHOTOGRAPH. TOTAL BS APP

GUYS, DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE A BAD REVIEW IN THE APP STORE. THEY CURRENTLY HAVE A FOUR AND A HALF STAR RATING! Absolute horrible app. They took about $80 from me. They randomly delete my listings and will send me a notification that they deleted something but not state a reason why, they just write that it violates their rules. They've sent me infringement notices that threatened me with legal action and the deletion of my account because they suspected me to be using copyrighted photos when actually they were my photos and they just made an assumption based on the high quality of the photos. It's also impossible to get in touch with anyone from customer service. It's all just Q&A. Their website says to contact them through the app but on the app there is no where to contact them. What kind of buying and selling app doesn't have a phone number or email address?

NOT ALL THE RUDE FOLKS OR GETTING BANNED FOR SOME BS! LOYAL GOOD SELLERS GET THEIR PAGE REVOKED OR BANNED. BUT FAKE NASTY SELLERS GET TO CONTINUE TO SELL THEIR KNOCKOFF HANDBAGS AND WHAT EVER. PEOPLE RATE YOU WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT. HORRIBLE APP RAN BY IDOITS.

They are horrible st customer service! They kick you off for no reason! I was kicked off because I had a fraud alert on my America Express card & I called in & they wanted to verify that I was authorizing the charge. Not a second later I get a noticed that Mercari is revolking my account! I have heard they have done this to several people. Take your business to Poshmark... GREAT APP

Mercari Is Pathetic

They kick me out permanently for a mystery ad and now the kick out my daughter for no reason. Her account was indefinitely suspended for no reason. I had no interaction with her own account. They told her some bull$#*! excuse. MERCARI really pathetic to take it out on my daughter.

Wow I was surprised to see the reviews. I am more of a seller than buyer and I have sold several items with no problems and Mercari direct deposited the funds into my bank account. All my transactions have been very smooth. I have purchased 3 items on there as well and am completely satisfied!

I honestly would rate them a zero if I could. I bought a couple things on here and everything was fine at first. Then I bought a dress and that dress and Mercari has been a nightmare for me. The dress I bought was described as new and was a completely different color than what I actually received. The pictures didn't match what I received. Not only wasn't the dress I received a different color than what was described it had clearly been worn before and was supposed to be new. So I requested a return through Mercari, I did it immediately as soon as I received the dress. They took forever to get back to me, when they finally did they said there was a problem with their site and they couldn't see the pictures I sent them and they would get back to me. I waited a little while longer, after I didn't hear from them I contacted them again and resent the pictures. This time they got back to right away and denied my return request even though I had pictures showing how the dress was pictured and described versus the pictures of what I actually got and even though they were two different colors and the dress was very worn they still denied my request and said the dress was described accurately! What a joke, I am so frustrated. They suggested I contact the seller to see if they would be willing to issue me a refund, which I did and the seller was extremely rude to me which Mercari supposedly prohibits but when I messaged them about that they didn't care. I continued to ask for a refund and provided more and more pictures and documentation and they just kept sending me the exact same messages and made no attempt to help me at all. They said if I didn't want the dress I could re list it on Mercari! Like I would do that and be out more money and let them get more money. I couldn't believe they treat their buyers like that! They then closed my case and the transaction so my money got released to the seller and I couldn't even give them a poor rating for inaccurately describing something and for their rude behavior. So I just got screwed. I will never do business with them again, buyers beware!

It's the worst app ever if they not improve the app. They suspended my account and told me that i have more than one account but I have just one account and sell for more than 400$. How the hell i need to create another account? They suspended my account for some dump stupid reason to hold my money. What a scam? Also when i contact them they just repeat the same thing and not tell me what's wrong with my account and not solve it. I have bad experience with this after it. I contact them for 2 times. First they repeat same thing second time they not answer my question. It pissed me off for holding my money

I tried to get a refund on order that were never mail out they say it take 10 business days no refund in ten business now they say it take 30 days which it never deal with this company again i rate them a two because they answer my text

They banned my account for no reason! This company is horrible! I've sold lots of things and customers are asking me for email because their stupid app wouldn't take their payment. Next thing I know, they deactivated my account. I will spread this everywhere! This company needs to be shut down. Awful

I have been selling on mercari awhile now, probably a year and a half. 617 positive ratings. I ship almost daily, had return buyers and requires this income. Tonight I received an email saying I was creating accounts after being suspended, violating their rules, all my listing, over 599 of them, are now inactive and pending deletion. I reached out and was told I had other accounts associated with me, which I don't, and I've never had more than one account. They won't listen and I'm losing a year and half of daily work, my income, and my account that I can't replace. I'm so upset. Never again.

I got suspended by this site, twice, without successfully selling or buying a single item.

1st suspension took place after I registered an account and bought an item, great, an email arrived and asked me for proof of identity and bank statement.

I gave them what they asked, 3 days later, they asked about a transaction that is between my own bank accounts, which I transferred a lump sum from one of my other bank accounts as my balance is running low. Fine, I gave them another bank statement to proof that the other account is owned by myself as well, and they went ahead and reactivated my account.

I then decided to take another look at the app and bought a few items, and I sold an item in the meanwhile as well. Suddenly, it is giving me the same suspension message and asking me for proof of identity again.

Now I am stuck because I have sent the item that I sold and it seems that my account is deleted as I am not even able to login to the app. So I will probably lose out at the very end, both the item and postage.

I recommend everyone staying away from these cowboys as they have no idea what they are doing and their customer service has not been helpful at all.

I have never had a more horrible experience in my life. Long story short, I was over my mother's house and my sister was looking for a perfume and I found it on Mercari for her. She looked at my telephone and decided to buy it under my account. Fast forward one month or so, she completely forgot that she purchased the perfume and disputed it on her credit card. The same day, she told me what happened, I subsequently reminded her that she made the purchase. She immediately contacted the bank and corrected her error on the 26th of the month and the bank fixed her mistake and paid the transaction along with notes stating the payment rectifies the error. Fast forward to the 29th, I receive a message from Mercari stating my account will be closed due to protential fraud on my account and to contact my banking institution leaving no number at Mercari to contact. Knowing the situation, I immediately contacted Mercari via Facebook messenger to explain the error and that is has been corrected and it was a mistake on my sister's part. I also told them it was 100% my error for allowing my sister to order under my account but Mercari would be completely paid and the banking institution had fixed the problem. Meraci responded that they have made a decision to shut my account down regardless if the problem was rectified. Mercari did not even care if the banking institution sent them a letter about the error. I was buying merchandise here or there from Meraci but I will now just use Ebay or Postmark! Horrible, horrible company! This company will not last especially from all the problems I have read. Do not use, be warned in advance!

Any time someone offers you less & you won't accept their offer, they whine & sometimes become irrational - verbally abusive.
Who ever complains 1st... the other is automatically suspended.
It's a completely unfair business.
They take 10% of your money & over charge in shipping all to profit themselves.
If basic shipping starts at $4. But your PKG was $2.45 to ship... Mercari keeps the difference! If it's over the $4 your PKG is returned for more postage. Mercari sucks money from sellers & buyers that way!
It's hard to sell too because theirs to much for sale & no way to boost your listing without totally redoing it. Then you lose your likes & possibly them buying it!
It all around sucks!

They say they protect their sellers but they offer no help! I sold an item and used 2 bubble packages and also wrapped the item in bubble wrap, the buyer claimed it came broken! No pictires no nothing, she wanted a refund, she requested a shipping label from them, they approved it she sent the item back. However they issued her refund without me even getting the item back! Wtf! What if she used it? What if it's not even the same item I shipped to her? They just issued it without even making sure it's ok! Do NOT sell on this bull$#*! app!
