Mercari is one of the worst apps out there. Just about every item is a counterfeit and everyone on there is dishonest, including Mercari "customer service." It's basically just basically a huge scam. It seems all good and fine at first, then you run into a scam artist and MERCARI WILL NOT HELP YOU. You will get some generic response that you won't understand and will have nothing to do with your problem. And you will lose your product or your money, or both. So if you are an honest seller or buyer, stick to eBay.

Being a disgruntled Letgo seller a friend referred me to Mercari. I had never heard of it before. So I need to ship out items before getting paid so what? Everything is backed up with tracking and they have a working payment interface which is HUGE for commerce apps. Sales are spotty and seem to run in cycles but I am converting. Listing is a snap using a mobile device. I wish I could list multiple quantities other than that pretty happy with this app.

This is the world of evil weasels! Scams and scamps. App is hard to use, can't really use desktop computer at all. Must Download app. Buyers are shady people, they'll purchase without reading description then yell at you for thier own problems of not reading and return stuff. Mine was returned in an empty box like my mizuno new running shoes. Buyer blocked me so I couldn't respond to her email. Some Sellers seem scammy also I got a shirt wrapped in a ziplock bag with a mailing label slapped on it, oh joy! Many kids under 16 selling here. Not a site for grown ups. I'll go back to ebay despite thier problems

This site is total BS! Use eBay. Amazon or even Walmart.com. I bought an item BECAUSE Marcari offered me a $10 coupon. Not only did they not apply it correctly but the item arrived POTAGE DUE ($5.26) and the item was NOT as described! Wish I had read these reviews first. Be smart. Stay clear of Mercari.

I got an email from Mercari yesterday stating that I was selling non authentic Louis Vuitton jewelry. Guess what? It is authentic! So now I am blocked and when all my transactions go through I am deleted. WTF? I'm going to start buying/selling on another site. Good luck Mercari because you're the WORST!

I sold a pair of jordans used only twice in perfect conditions, buyer ask for refund because it was the "wrong item " mercari gave it back the mopney to her even before i got my shoes back and what the buyer sent? A stinky old and in terrible conditions tennis shoes! Mercari refused to do something the buyer close he account and i am here without my shoes without money and a pair of tennis that are honestly disgusting!

I have sold many items on there and they are the worst. Their customer service is non existant. The buyers will attempt to haggle you down to pennies where you are paying to ship to them. I CLEARY have it stated where I ship 4-7 days. I have people trying to cancel transactions because I getout of bed and run to the post office to ship at 2 am. When you need their help you are out of luck. The people who buy are scammers and Mercari is on their side. Avoid this company at all costs.

I purchased a bikini described as used only twice in good condition. When it came, it was in very used condition with much pilling, covered in sand, discolored, basically unwearable to me. It was in "fair" condition at best and none of these "cosmetic flaws" were disclosed as Mercari policy states they should. I contacted Mercari the day I received the item requesting a return and they denied it claiming it didn't qualify, and promptly completed my transaction! I couldn't even leave feedback for the seller so this girl is free to scam again knowing Mercari will protect her. Everyone stick to Poshmark. They're fees are high but they are very committed to protecting buyers.

Please remember, the Mercari team does not give 0 F***''s about you, always know this.
I (was) a seller. I sold tons of stuff. I wrapped my packages in pink mailers, pink tissue paper, pink ribbon and glittery pink thank you cards with had written notes W/ a free gift that anyone could use, along with shipping the girls order the next day.
I've always gotten great reviews (170+) until a NEW user rated me "good". I messaged her to ask what was wrong, she told me she loved everything, tissue paper, mailer, note (in her own words) etc, but she rated ME good (and I quote) "I rated you good ONLY because I am upset at MYSELF for not seeing where it said sample" which I listed. I asked her if she'd conifer changing it, that I'd appreciate it. She told me "No, sorry. I'll be leaving it the way it is"
I contacted Mercari. Let's be honest we all know and have heard how awful they are and give 0 f***s. I sent them photos of what she said, how a he clearly said she rated me based on herself not reading. They wouldn't change it. I contacted them on Facebook. They wouldn't change it either.

This is how ignorant they are. They would let a NEW (1 ratings from me) user who looks 12 (underage for the app and shouldn't be using her mother card) rate me based on her own ignorance for not reading (WHO DOESN'T READ WHAT THEY ARE PURCHASING!) They let her rate me based on her fault. I really hope they're happy. They now have that user (who currently is listing used makeup and shoes as new) instead of an old seller who always describes her items correctly.

I closed all my open listings and am awaiting a supervisors look into it as I request and better damn be granted. I will update this listing if they fix it, but it's Mercari. I hope they enjoy their new user! I'm going to make it my goal to plaster this every single place I can on the behalf of all Mercari sellers who put up with this terrible site. By the way, I made $1.70 after paying for shipping & packaging.:-)

I have been a 5 star great seller for over a year. I had over a hundred custom listings. I took photos of everything and listed it. I was BANNED FOR NO REASON. Sent an email saying I was selling counterfeit items. I was selling makeup silicone applicators that I bought from China, yes, but had them AT MY HOUSE and shipped FROM MY HOUSE. In the US. Sent an email to "customer service". They didn't care, I got an automated email back saying I am indefinitely suspended.

I was pretty upset about this. It is unfair. So I created another account with my husband's information and that got banned as well.

F you Mercari. I see dozens of sellers that are clearly from Japan, that have stock photos and you don't seem to care? But you'll delete legitimate stay at home mom's trying to make some extra cash for their family? Thanks..

I don't use this anymore and I don't recommend this to anyone either. Horrible customer service (actually there is NO customer service) and if there are any issues with a transaction, they don't resolve it very professionally

If Mercari keep suspending the real users, It gonna be hard to grow. Should learn from ebay and poshmark more!

They keep advertising $2 coupon (which is not even wothed) for those who invite family and friend but when you invite your sister that staying in the same house. They said it's the same user?
My logic is. Does my sister has to ask me to buy something from mercari while she can buy it from her own gadget?
I don't get it.

If the reason is to create safe and friendly invirontment, each problem could be reviewed and solved with evidence if needed before suspending users and ignore their complains and reports.

Secondly, my suspention was because my default payment having problem so I try to use another card and it indicate as suspicious transaction amd cancelled the purchase. Didn't they see that when billing and shipping address is the same is not suspicious. It should be the owner of the card.

And...
I asked a friend of mine to purchase and deliver it to my address, they said that my friend's account is new and mine. Lol. In fact her account was almost a year old and we lived in the diffrent state. Ok it was my fault and I didnt mind got revoked and I apologized to mercari to fix my friend account but her account was deleted without any review before mind.

The last is. It is forbiden to use forwarding servise address because it will ne delayed rating for those seller so their payment would be delayed too. So I was ready to give evidence that it is my own address and i live in it. But again I was ignored. Lol

Thank you so much mercari for such a great customer service.

New user, welcome u will got $10 coupon and old user good bye! They don't care how much money they got from your contribution from buying and selling in their website.

They suspended my account indicating I was selling counterfeit items. I contacted them to release my funds. Never received a complain from customers. They said they will have to hold my funds until July 14,2017. I tried today to transfer my money to my account it will still not let me. I've been trying to contact them, but my messages have been blocked?

Don't waste your time with Mercari app.Go to other site for peace of mind. I had 60+ all great reviews from sellers and buyers.
I introduced my sister and my husband to download the app. They asked them to delete as they judge it is from the same user. So They deleted it.
I had no problem with any payment to all my sellers and buyers. I got 60+ all great reviews. They revoke my account from the signs of unusual payment activity.!? I didn't understand what is it about? So I emailed them. This is how they replied without giving the certain reason. I still have some credit left. They charge 2% to withdraw money if you have less then 10.
It is really waste of your time if you have to take picture, write contents and etc, then they delete them all without knowing what did you do wrong.

Weird...

My son sold something on here, then when I took over for him to arrange a payment I discovered that I cant get paid until I send the item, and get a review... hmm if only we could walk into a high street store, take what we want, then decide if I want to pay later and say that store was bad, keep the items then ask for a refund without returning the items.
Thanks but I will stick to ebay, fee or not, at least I will get something back as a seller.

I ordered pants from this website and the seller didn't ship them for two weeks and when i asked if they'd shipped she never responded to me. Tracking the package the whole way, it made a full circle and was delivered back to where it was shipped. The seller was not apoligetic in the slightest and refused to respond. I tried ordering one more time from a different seller and after a week of waiting when i messaged her to see if she'd shipped the shoes i ordered, she said "i can't find them." That was the last straw in letting me know that this website and the sellers on it are insanely unreliable and unprofessional. The only good thing I have to say about my experience is that the website was quick and willing to refund me my money both times. So all in all, SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, AND FRUSTRATION AND DONT BOTHER ORDERING FROM THIS WEBSITE.

I began using this app a few months ago along with the Poshmark app. I've sold things with no problems but when I mentioned trading something I was selling that didn't fit me anymore with something similar in my size someone else was selling, I got an almost immediate warning. Now trading on Poshmark is ok but apparently it's not ok on Mercari. I mentioned trading again a few months later thinking I was on Poshmark only to get kicked out of Mercari indefinitely. Ridiculous! It was an accident, an honest mistake! I thought I was chatting on Poshmark and not Mercari. However, they didn't care that I have a 5 star rating and not one bad review. They didn't care that I sold things and they earned money off me. I was indefinitely terminated along with my daughter and her account just because we live at the same address! They wouldn't even allow me to defend myself against their allegations. I'm still with Poshmark and have never had any issues with them. I will never recommend this ridiculous money hungry company Mercari to anyone ever! Just go to Poshmark everyone. They are not scammers like Mercari!
