Many reviews highlight issues with customer service, describing representatives as unhelpful and rude, which exacerbates dissatisfaction. Repair Dept faux pas
November 2, 2023

RE: Repair Dept faux pas - I called to inquire if my husband's LLBEAN leather slippers, the soles could be repaired. Staff stated "YES certainly we can repair just send them to us".
Three weeks post mailing, I received a call from Repair stating, "NO, we cannot repair the soles because the slippers were made in El Salvador... Cheap materials? SERVICE WHAT YOU SELL! Staff Apologized up and down for this impertinent information not shared with me, lotta good that did. My time and money wasted; $12 for postage, driving to/from Post Office, waiting in line... I purchased LLBEAN items for over 50 years and family before me. P A T H E T I C Sayonara!

Not worth the money
October 26, 2023

These ll bean slippers are great if you are going to replace them every four to six months but if you expect them to last any longer without the insoles coming apart or the stitching coming out then you may want to just go with a big box store like Walmart slippers that you can get 6 pairs for the price of one pair of these ll bean slippers. And don't try and use the warranty to replace them because they will keep giving excuses to why they can't honor the warranty. Take notice that lo Bean changed the warranty from life time to one year on the slippers knowing the slippers don't last but a few short months before coming apart. I have been trying to leave a review for a week now on ll beans web site but wouldn't you know they check all reviews before being excepted, so that's why I'm paying a review here since they keep denying my review

I sent a winter shell back three times to have them fix the zipper and all they did was put a new pull on it and send it back then when I questioned why the zipper hadn't been replaced this time after the third visit, they told me they did not have a machine that could replace the new zippers on their coats so I was out of luck, so I talk to customer service and they told me that there was nothing they could do about it so I asked for a supervisor and the supervisor basically told me that it's my problem now yes L.L. Bean has gone the way of every other place for customer service for product

Today, at the Cranston,RI, store I was waited on by Cathy O'Brien, who greeted me on the phone an hour earlier from my house in CT. From the moment she answered the phone, I knew I was in good hands. She worked diligently to find my unusual size pants. I WAS THRILLED TO PURCHASE JEANS THAT FIT PERFECTLY AND LOOKED GREAT. She exemplifies thea dedicated service to customers for which LLBean is known. The company is fortunate to have a person of Cathy's caliber working for them. Thanks, Cathy!

Have a LL bean Gift card. Tried to pay for a web order with the gift card and there is no place to enter the card. I called Customer service and they confirmed that you cannot use the gift card either US$ or CDN$ on the site to pay for product. You must use the card in their brick and mortar store? Because the customer service is so negative at the local store I will not be going there anytime soon

LL bean book bag
September 4, 2023

I bought my nephew, a book bag less than a year ago actually for last Christmas I've been fighting with them to replace it because the zipper broke on it and everything else and they're saying it's original wear and tear on it and I think that's bull$#*!. I think that they should fix it or replace it and then they also said that they don't make that book bag anymore if they're not going to make that book bag anymore why not replace it with something else right I paid $200 for that book bag and I will not shop here again ever again never ever again. This place is just a scam.

Changes delivery date 3 times! Ordered July 26. Now they say sept. 5th "maybe"! What the hell? Why should anyone have to wait 5-6 weeks for their child's birthday gift? Of course when I ordered it was going to be delivered by Aug 2. Another shady as hell Republican owned company only concerned with THEIR pockets rather than those hard working customers who fill them!

Shop Elsewhere
August 8, 2023

LL Bean no longer stands behind its products. Despite the fact that I purchased A product from LL Bean prior to the return policy, they refused to replace an item that wore out long before it should have. Will never shop there again.

I ordered hunting boots for my husband, who barely survived Covid, and has wanted a pair since the 1980s as a "I'm so thankful to still have you gift" in April. Here we are in July and no boots! I called in May and was told the boots would arrive by June 15th and ask for communication...no boots and no communication. I called back June 20th...no boots and no communication, but was told the boots would arrive by July 15th. I called today because no boots and no communication. I was told "we were going to expedite them, but now it will be September". As I was telling them to cancel the order, the manager said "I can offer you a discount" which was really a slap in the face! How about keeping your multiple commitments and what happened to expediting them? What a disappointment! I asked avount the communication and was told "they were supposed to email you". The only communication had been when I contact them! I will never do business with them! These boots are made in house! Disgusting!

I ordered several summer tee shirts, 2 slub material tees and 2 pima cotton tees. I love my slub tees. So light weight and cool. I returned the pima cotton ones. They are so thick and heavy. I would wear this material in winter in darker colors. Much too hot for summer. I would love to have several more of the light weight ones but they are unfortunately sold old.

I quit the Bean.
June 12, 2023

Long Bean time customer, moved from Belfast, ME. Saw LL Bean PRIDE MONTH collection. I'M OUT. I want your products, not your lectures on morality.
Funny, veterans bleed and die for this country get one day, VETRANS DAY. These flaunting their ability to abnormally screw each other get a MONTH. Go figure.

I have worn out 2 lined hoodies over the years. I just purchased another. When you can compare an older product to a new one the difference in quality is easy to see. The weight is much lighter, the cotton count is lower. The sleeves are no longer lined. LL Bean has traditionally been known of functional active wear. This hoodie looks good but I can tell it will not be as warm or durable as the older version. Why is it that companies manufacturing this type of clothing pay little attention to their actual purpose? This hoodie is supposed to keep you warm, keep the chill out. It looks good but won't provide any protection against the weather. Poorly done LL Bean!

When I was a kid, all of our clothes and shoes came from here. As I grew older, I continued to buy my shoes, sport coats and shirts from them. This was 20 years ago. Now, I can no longer recommend this company. Everything is outsourced except for their traditional boots and NOTHING is made in America. I received, as a gift, a pair of their raisin colored bison penny loafers. I've had them two months and the insoles are already separated at the front and wad up inside the shoes while wearing them. The insoles USED to be leather from front to back, now, there's enough leather to bear their company logo then it's nylon. Not only did they cut corners, they upped the price $25 more dollars. This is just a review, you guys buy what you want, I won't ever buy anything else from them and any future gifts will be returned. Just sad such a great company, in Maine USA, sells junk from the lowest bidding countries.

After supporting LLBean online for years I was excited about a BC outlet. The store is beautiful but they've hired only two staff; who are overwhelmed and underpaid. So bad.

I love these shirts! They are my go-to summer wear. I wish they still sold the Dark Olive color though and made new colors too. I got shoe polish on my old olive shirt, and it washed out!. They get better with washings. And the weight is perfect. They are worth the price. Just miss my olive color. I'm from Maine originally, so I feel like I have a piece of "home" wrapped around me.I met Mr. Bean when a child. He was at the door greeting people. Good memories.

Excellent quality, reliable service, fast shipping. Everything fit as expected. You pay just a bit more, but it is worth the few dollars for the 'getting what you expect'. I have tried a lesser know mail order and was terribly disappointed, along with a full blown hassle to get a refund for verified return items. I've never, ever had a single issue with LLBean, and topping that, I have garments that have lasted 10+ years.

Terrible Customer Service
April 19, 2023

Had a terrible experience buying and returning snow shoes at Oakville mall. At time of purchase no staff was around to guide me what to buy to match the weight and gender and the staff member at the cash register had no product knowledge to answer any questions.
I had to return one of them because the size was incorrect. The item had all the tags, original packaging and bag, at the time of return the staff refused to do the refund because the barcode label was missing on the product; she said she had to measure the item to find out if the product was for male/female and also the size to match with the receipt! I asked for the Manager and he handled the situation. I never had such an awful experience returning a brand new product with original tags, packaging and bag! Horrible customer service at both purchase and return!
