I was extremely pleased with the outcome of the films. These were family films that were over 40 years old. I sent in the films thinking I wouldn't have any results, but was very pleased that all ten reels came out. I would definitely use them again.
It was fun watching the old movies. Reliving the wonderful events that happened so long ago. Seeing faces that we had not seen in many a year. Love the memories
I am totally impressed with Legacy box. One of my tapes was empty so they offered to transfer another for free. And the turn around time was very fast! This is an efficient operation. I never worried about my precious tapes!
Received emails on a regular basis providing updates on processing. Received in a timely manner & very happy with results.
I gave them a try because of their Black Friday special. By not paying for express service, they basically put you at the end of the line, regardless of when they received your items. They have had my tapes for over three weeks and I just get these annoying updates that someone checked the barcodes on my items or we have reviewed the items, Please. You were advertising a few days before Christmas that you can still send in your tapes to received them in time for Christmas. So customers who sent in their items three weeks before Christmas but did not pay for express shipping or processing just keep waiting. I would just use a local service next time for cheaper pricing.
This product is so over priced and they are so slow in completing your order. My super 8 movies order is 3 months in the making and I have not gotten it yet. They do not respond to request for updates on my order. Very expensive. I sent in film and should have done it myself with a devise I ordered on line. I was going to have 2700 slides done but that would have been $2700. So I bought a kodak scanza for $160 and 5 hours of my time and done,,, perfect. Done for Christmas
I sent in old Sony video disks and they had they for 4 weeks and their tracking website said that everything was going great.
They sent back every piece of media as saying they couldn't convert that format or it was damaged.
Three hundred dollars for shipping my stuff out and getting my stuff back with stickers on them

Be cautious when purchasing any discounts from this company. They make it seem like they are giving you a good deal but when you get into it you will end up spending far more than you originally planned. They do not run a transparent shop. I would not do business with them again.
I am very happy with legacy box. I wish that some of my VHS tapes were better quality but my wife and I thoroughly enjoy watching these memories again after years of not watching them.
Our tapes were so old…40 plus years, so that we were concerned they would break or be otherwise unsalvageable. We received our cds and could hear and see one really well, the second had a few sound issues but we are thrilled with the outcome considering what they had to work with!
I think it is great that I could get a copy of my childhood memories

I followed the instructions both written and oral. Did not receive what I ordered. In fact it was a mess. Not even close to being consistent with my order. I was charged for a variety of "items" that had not been mentioned. I complained. Finally they sent their version of "correct" along with flooring samples from Home Depot and a bottle of sun screen. At least two of the "corrected" flash drives were damaged.

Although it's uncommon, there are times when packages become damaged and/or opened while they are in transit. When this occurs, our shipping partners will do what they can to deliver the package, even if that means putting the items in a new package and creating a new label. Of course, this opens up an opportunity for the carrier to mix in items that do not belong in the package. Given the information we have in front of us, we're confident that is what occurred in your case, and we truly regret the frustration, disappointment, and inconvenience you experienced.

Excellent experience. Will use again, I have a lot of vhs and mini cassettes. I suppose quality was as good as it could get due to age. A little disappointed.
Didn't convert one of the tapes, only stated such with a small stamp. Didn't offer refund in with return order called to inquire@ it. Said they don't issue refunds unless requested. Customer rep was very quiet on much of the call leaving me to state "are you still there?"

The first reason is that some of our customers have issues with the original method of payment and prefer not to be refunded electronically. Marisa (customer service) was very prompt with replies and information and was very courteous. However, I'm exceptionally disappointed in the constant offers (and I mean constant) through texts and emails about a promotion that all extra items were $9 on sale. This is why I sent them in as extras after I ordered my original order. I didn't think I would be denied the promotion- I wasn't told why I wasn't eligible for it, only that they were already discounted from $17.99. At that point they had all my items and there was nothing I could do. This isn't the way to do business- my family has been in business from car dealerships to retail stores in malls. I won't do service with them again.

I can only speak for 8mm cassette/tape transfers.
If you like substandard conversion with lots of edge distortion and video/audio issues on most of your transfers, then this conversion service is for you. I even contacted their customer service and they tried to fix them with little improvement. The first five minutes of one of my tapes is destroyed now, which is probably their fault. It would be difficult to prove, but it played fine before I sent it in and even with their first transfer. It definitely wasn't the one-to-one conversion that they advertise. I have since bought a conversion device that is doing a much, much better job. I expected more from a company that specializes in doing this.

As you know, we aim to produce a one-to-one transfer of your original media as it plays on our equipment, and we've learned that videotapes can be very temperamental. Though we strive for perfection, Legacybox does not represent or warrant that the services provided will be error-free or that all defects will be corrected. Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Just put a note in your box if you have a PAL tape. *Film: 8mm, Super8,16mm, and Super16 A note on sound: Since sound on film is so rare, and to ensure we're providing the highest quality transfers, it is not our standard process to digitize film with sound. *Photos: 35mm Slides, Photo Prints (up to 8.5 x 11"), and 35mm Negatives A note on photo packaging: When sending in your photos, slides, or negatives, we ask that you remove them from any extraneous container, group them in bundles of 25 and place them in clear plastic ziplock bags or envelopes. *Audio: Standard Audio Cassette Tapes, Mini Cassettes, Micro Cassettes, and 1/4" Reel-to-Reel Audio If you have any more questions, let me know. Answer: No. Just went through this with them. It's a "tough luck" and they keep your money.
Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
