Took 3 months to get my order and it came in the wrong form. While waiting for my order I received emails from them almost daily trying to sell me more. A real headache. Will never use them again!

Everything went as expected. I was informed at each stage of progress, and didn't have any problems. Some of my VHS tapes are more than 30 years old, and I haven't watched them in 25 years, but they turned out good and it was great watching them. Great job. Got everything back as promised.
I purchased a LARGE order to be converted November 28 2021, and it is March 28 2022 and I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE ENTIRE ORDER. I call customer service to ask if there is something that can be done because not only have I not received my full order, but some of the videos I sent were digitized even tho they deemed them to be poor quality. If the video is poor quality I would've appreciated a heads up and maybe a different solution such as me sending in a replacement video, why would I want something that can't be converted properly? I am in the process of disputing the charge with my credit card company if the company does not give me an update on when exactly I should be receiving my package, and with the BBB because this is ridiculous. When I originally ordered they said 8 weeks due to the holiday season, at this point since November 28 2021, a total of 4months have passed and still NOTHING. You ask them for some sort of compensation or discount on the money you spent and the answer from them is MUTE.
The quality and care that is taken to ensure my videos are done right is well worth the price of Legacybox. I got to share movies from the 1950's with cousins that had nothing like them of their family members.
Magical I tell you. I chuckled as I pulled several VHS tapes from the garbage pile and sent them to Legacy Box. To my immense pleasure and mouth agape, I noticed each item returned were so clear! The best quality. I am still bragging to anyone who will listen. Thank you, Thank you most sincerely.
My father converted to USB in like half an hour! Maybe Legacy Box could use his expertise! NEVER USE LEGACY BOX TO DESTROY YOUR MEMORIES!
Anyone notice this rep. Didn't say here's your money back! I have run a successful law firm for 30 years & NEVER an unhappy walks away from us!
Legacy box is a joke but they kept my $74 & said they could not convert b/c of "the following: mold, or broken tape housing, environmental damage (water, heat, etc)…."
How many time do they use that sticker, send it back & keep your money! Sounds like theft of services to me or just plain fraud!

After loosening my husband and before that my son all I had were the old 8 track's and could not see are many memories. SENT MY 60 OLD 8 TRACKS AND NOW SEE MY SON AND HUSBAND WTH ALL THE FUN WE HAD AND GOOD MEMORIES. I THANK YOU ALL WITH ALL MY
I paid and sent 2 VHS tapes on 11-30-2021 to have copied to thumb drive. One tape is of my dog videoed on 6-1990. I lost her on 12-1-1990 and is the only video of her that exists. I have gotten many emails saying they are working on my order and this and that and have no clue if the tapes are still viewable. I feel the time is more than long enough to change 2 VHS tapes over. I even got a company on YOUTUBE who said their turnaround is 7-10 days. UPDATE. After post this review I got a response from the company and after almost 4 months of waiting they gave me a refund and never got the product from them I ordered.
The machinery doing the transfer is junk, making the digital quality garbage - took 3 months to get junk back
Legacybox has my order of 5 or 6 VCR tapes to digital. The order was placed in December and they sent verification of it Jan. 6. It is March 17 and when I called them today to ask what had happened, they said it is in line waiting for production. That is is over 3 months for what was advertised as a 6-8 week turn around. They told me that it "should" be processed by April 7th or 14, so we're talking 4 months, rather than the advertised 6-8 weeks. This of course assumes that they have the items and have not lost them. Think carefully before sending in your treasured items.
I sent them three tapes in early December and they didn't get back to me until the middle of March. THREE months! And when they did, only two of the tapes were digitized. I have no idea what happened to the other one (which was the most important one) and I am trying to get to the bottom of it now. I hope they didn't lose it. Definitely a waste of money and it took way too long. I recommend using some other provider for this service.
I sent it my 38 year old wedding Videos.
It took less the 4 weeks from when I requested a Legacy box until i received my package with 2 CDs and a thumb drive.

I had about 24 video cassettes to transfer to dvd. It took them roughly 12 weeks to get my stuff back to me and honestly I wasn't impressed with the quality of the videos. They are very grainy. And for the money it wasn't worth it. I wish I would of checked some other companies that swear they are better quality then legacy box from what the inter sites our saying. I did submit a request to have someone contact me and they did e-mail me back asking what they can help me with and I expressed my issue. They have not reached back out yet. I would say to look at other companies before you decide on going with them.

I was thrilled after someone gave me some old slides from the 60's of my mom & dad, grandparents etc. My dad recently passed away & I was very excited to see these slides. After speaking to no less than 6 different people multiple times, I did my part with bagging, barcoding & all their necessary steps to send these in. Mailed them early November & should have received them by Christmas. Each step of their process they do email & text you where they are at with your order. Sounded like everything was moving along nicely. My last notification was that they shipped in JANUARY! Received the pkg. & they said they could not digitize the slides! No refund given! I had to contact them to find out why! The would not refund the shipping cost. They admitted it was their error that someone should have told me when they received them that they could not be processed. Over 2 months to receive an empty box back! Khristy the supposed "manager" was just awful. How a large company like that can treat customers. No thorough process although they make it seem like they know what they're doing! Luckily I found a local place, cheaper, easier & they did my job in ONE day! Go Local. These people should not be in business. Way too much work for the customer to send things in etc. only to be told after 2 months that they cannot process the order! These were just standard slides too! I am still working with them on the refund & hopefully they will make it right but I have a feeling it will be more of the same! Again, do all you can to find someone local! Can you imagine my shock when I opened the box to find nothing but my slides I sent them? They never warned me or anything & now I have to chase them for a refund! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

We do record any and all correspondence received so I did go back and review that and I see that you made a phone call to us in October regarding some general questions on placing an order where you did mention you had some slides from the 60's but no specifics were given. I wholeheartedly apologize for the confusion there as we CAN process slides that are the standard 35mm and 126. I see that your slides were not either of these formats so unfortunately we were unable to process them. I'm not certain what format your slides were, but I typically refer to this website for easy identification: https://digitalcopycat.com/slide_negative_identification.html. Our website does list the formats we have the equipment to process here: https://help.legacybox.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004160647-What-formats-do-you-convert- I apologize if that could have been more clear! I do apologize that these were not notated at receiving that these slides were not a format that we can process. It would be my assumption that the format that you do have may have been very similar to to one that we CAN process so it may have been missed due to human error. Our average processing time is about 6-8 weeks and orders with standard processing guaranteed by Christmas delivery needed to arrive to our facility no later than October 28th. I see that your order arrived to us on 11/03 which is why it was not completed until early January. We always strive to be as clear and upfront as possible regarding the average turnaround time before placing an order as well as listing the information on the email sent when your order passes through receiving, again I apologize if that could have been more transparent. I did review your correspondence with our customer service manager, Khristy I apologize if you felt that her service was "awful" I can see that she was simply trying to provide some context to what happened with your order and ensure she could assist you to the best of her abilities. I see that she had requested for our finance team to cut a check for you as you did not want to be refunded back to your credit card for the total of your order, sans shipping as that is our policy referenced here: https://help.legacybox.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002000374-What-s-your-cancellation-policy-. This applies to all orders, even if they have not been sent in to us for processing, but the initial box had been shipped out. For context, the shipping charge is paid to the shipping company. Since your order was not processed, we absolutely do not expect you to pay for that, however the shipping was utilized and the shipping company was paid for that service accordingly. Whenever items cannot be processed in an order, the originals in the box are labeled as such for easy identification as well. For context a refund is not automatically issued as you do have the option to opt for a credit instead to send in different items to be processed, or in situations such as yours, customers do not prefer the refund to be issued back to their original method of payment but would prefer a check instead. I do regret that you were not made aware that your slides were not a format we are able to work with, but I am glad to see that you found a local company that was able to accommodate your request in a quick and efficient manner. Our films were put on used CDs. In the middle of our family memories, we have a portion of a televised baseball game. On another CD we have some random guys sitting around a campfire and another has the TV news. We paid $550 for terrible copies. Do NOT use these people!
Legacy box received my order in early October and I didn't get it till mid January!
They kept sending me emails from the beginning like my box was assigned and so on looking as if it were being processed. Just not satisfied with the whole ordeal.

Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Just put a note in your box if you have a PAL tape. *Film: 8mm, Super8,16mm, and Super16 A note on sound: Since sound on film is so rare, and to ensure we're providing the highest quality transfers, it is not our standard process to digitize film with sound. *Photos: 35mm Slides, Photo Prints (up to 8.5 x 11"), and 35mm Negatives A note on photo packaging: When sending in your photos, slides, or negatives, we ask that you remove them from any extraneous container, group them in bundles of 25 and place them in clear plastic ziplock bags or envelopes. *Audio: Standard Audio Cassette Tapes, Mini Cassettes, Micro Cassettes, and 1/4" Reel-to-Reel Audio If you have any more questions, let me know. Answer: No. Just went through this with them. It's a "tough luck" and they keep your money.
Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
