I had slides that were taken 50 years ago, and I had meant to do something about them for years. It was wonderful to trust that they were well taken care of and now I can put them in my scrapbook finally. I was informed via email that they were being received and then worked on 2-3 times. It took a few months but I am so happy that I did this. I recommend this company entirely!
I mistakenly hit the wrong button and ended up placing an order costing $46. When I saw a new charge on my credit card, I sent an email explaining what happened and they took $25 for my mistake. There are other companies out there who supply the same service. You might want to check them out rather than pay a 50% charge for being a 75 year old person who has problems using a keyboard but I just got a $25 lesson. Thank you Legacy Box!
We spent around $360 and sent in 20 VHS to be put onto DVDs. They had them for 5 months. They said that they could not transfer them very well, that they were too old. They were about 15-30 years old. They sent us the DVDs that are very poor (blurry and garbled speech). They advertise that they can transfer old VHS to DVDs, but they can not. We are looking at the VHS and they are very good (clear pictures and good sound). I would not recommend them at all. I am very disappointed. It was a waste of $360.
I sent several VHS tapes to them, got lots of emails about progress, a promised 6-8 weeks. Started calling and emailing after about 9 weeks..."busy" "high holiday demand" etc etc... finally got them after about 15-16 weeks. No emails after about 8 weeks. DVDs are of very poor quality and barely viewable or not at all. USB are much better. Would NEVER use them again. Better to check out local converters instead.
Earlier this year I sent 20 video files (VHS and cassette tapes) to digitize. It took 4 months to get results. After review, I found that they digitized 15 but they were absolutely terrible. They didn't even take the time to fix the 'horizontal tracking' on the VCR. This made the tapes unwatchable. There was no touch up and no care for what they did. They charged $257 for this mess. 25% was not even done although the video quality on those were just fine. When I tried to complain, they said they were going to give me $100 credit but then they didn't. They shut down all communication and refused to answer any emails, phone calls, etc, after 4 days. Since then, I have been fighting with my credit card company because now they are wanting the whole $257 even though the quality was less that minimally acceptable and they didn't even do 25% of the service. STAY AWAY! This is a scam. They don't do what they claim to. They take your money and don't provide the service. If I could rate them a 'ZERO' I would.

It's been 4 months, I moved in the interim and was assured by email that my address was updated. Besides the additional 8 weeks of waiting, I now got an email that my order has been shipped... to my OLD address. I moved States! There were no updates at all for 2 months now this. I am less than happy and am sorry I did not go local and have my media in my hands! Huge mistake! Just Go Local! Who knows if I will ever see my media again.

I sent 10 tapes to legacy in March 2022. They said a 6 to 8 week turn around. I called every few weeks and completely understood they had a staffing issue but then 4 months later they said they would rush my job. Within 3 days my tapes were delivered to me. All in the wrong boxes. Nothing labeled, 2 tapes had no voice. Others I couldn't even tell who the people were. I literally cried. It was horrible. I can only say the customer service person was extremely nice and refunded me. He said they definitely rushed my job because he saw they did it in 3 days when something like that should have taken at least 7. I would rather have my memories and great quality rather then a refund but at least he did that. This is their specialty. I used CVS for one tape and they labeled it beautiful added music and put it in a nice container not like legacy in a piece of paper with no name. Beyond disappointed

Don't use this company! They changed the processing timeline to months instead of weeks, asked for more money as I had sent in add'l items, never updated my email and very inconsistently sent a few updates and not at the times they indicated they would. With all the porch pirates, was afraid that my processed box would be stolen as never was clear on exactly when I would receive. I had followed instructions in packing my box and put sticker on to have thumb drives and only received discs. Their processing team was not accurate or thorough after waiting for sooo long! They indicated a few items couldn't be processed, maybe due to poor quality but never labeled which they were. This was the most disappointing, agonizing, frustrating company to deal with, when it could have been a fun and rewarding experience. Oh and btw, I shared all this with them and customer service never got back to me. They are dishonest and in their ads portray this caring, personal process when it is not. Run!

I waited 4 months for Legacy box to copy 20 VHS tapes. Service is terrible and support is worse. You can find cheaper services and more efficient. COSCO copied my 8mm tapes in 10 days and was less expensive.

Poor service! Order was received on March 30th and is now about 13 weeks. I am concerned and contacted them. Same company line high volume low staff. May take up to 20 weeks? Really don't use this company!

Order L******* has been with them since December 2021! What the hell? Just send me back my stuff and refund my money. I will take it to another service. This is the worst service ever and spare me the canned response as well!

The service was easy to use. The inventory stickers that came with the shipping box made it easy to label media and reassured me that the materials would not get lost at the facility. The copies I downloaded looked fine and downloading was no problem. It did take a couple months from when I sent the videos in, but since they'd sat unwatched in a box for 30 years that really was not an issue. I would use Legacybox again.

I sent 20 of our home videos in Jan 2022, they charged me immediately, It is June 15,2022 and we have yet to receive anything back!

They don't let you unsubscribe which to me is always a red flag. I've tried everything I can think of and they won't stop sending texts and emails.

I sent two 50 ft. 8mm films to Legacy Box in February 2022 along with about $50. These were 2 films that have great value in memories. Today is June 14,2022. I have received at least 50 emails from Legacy Box making incredible offers for more digitizing services. I have not received any services, no film no digitization. I have lost those 8mm films and $50. Legacy Box IS A SCAM! I intend to file a lawsuit against Legacy Box under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act to seek an INJUNCTION, treble damages, attorney's fees and court costs. My damages will include PUNITIVE DAMAGES for blatant FRAUD. A class action lawsuit is being considered. WHAT A SCAM. Those missing films have a value of $100,000 each, ie. $200,000 x 3 = $600,000. Legacybox received my items on February 25th, and I'm still waiting to receive my completed order today, June13th. That's 108 days, and guess, what? They've just let me know that my items are still "waiting for a spot to open up so our technicians can digitally preserve your recorded moments!". So essentially, nothing has been done with my order that they've had for almost FOUR MONTHS!. When I placed my order, they said it would take 6-8 weeks. If you see that advertised, DON"T BELIEVE IT. I wish I had read the reviews before I chose this company. In the last couple months, I've read many reviews from poor suckers who are in the same boat I am, waiting for many months, and from people who either didn't get their items at all or got them back damaged or unusable. At this point, I wouldn't encourage anyone to use them, because their marketing is a lie and their communication/transparency is awful, and their process seems to be a hot mess. I'm crossing fingers that I do eventually get my items. I will update this review with progress, and if what I get is wonderful, I'll be happy and relieved to let you all know. Fingers crossed.

I purchased a Legacy Box Kit to convert a WWII 16mm newsreel.
I found the website to be jam packed full of the positive things Legacy Box does coupled with high pressure sales jargon for extras and added expense. HOWEVER, there was NO information of LIMINTATIONS or things that COULD NOT be converted - everything was roses! I paid for the service.
When I received the box there was an instructional pamphlet included in the box that was much more concise - they DO NOT PROVIDE AUDIO on their conversions even if it is on the original! That does me no good with a newsreel.
I wrote an e-mail with contact info and got no response. I called TWICE and waited 30 minutes for help before opting for a call back - which I NEVER RECEIVED. I wrote a second e-mail with contact info and STILL no response.
So, I have a $105 cardboard box sitting here that is unusable and can't get Legacy Box to talk to me about a refund (so yes they have a generous refund policy, but you can't get ahold of them to do it).
There is NO EXCUSE for this type of BAD SERVICE. And unless you want to gamble that they do your conversion correctly - or even can, I would highly recommend you not do business with Legacy Box!

Without a projector, we "filmed" family memories even though we had no way of viewing what we had.
Thanks to Legacybox, we now have access to our home movies. Such a wonderful surprise to see the family moments we captured. We can even hear a family member say, "I think I missed that," without realizing it was being recorded along with her comment. We are so happy with our Legacybox.

Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
