I had sent my Legacy Box nearly 3 months ago. It's still in queue waiting to be processed. I had used other company services with a 10 day turn- around. Three months is pretty crazy.
I still don't have my digital files yet.
The process to get from sending your media into LegacyBox to receiving the finished product can take some time but what you get in return will be worth the wait and the expense of transforming those memories into digital as future keepsakes! LegacyBox does not just take your memories and then ignore you until the process has been finished but keeps you updated on each step of the process and what to expect next. Whatever options that you may choose, LegacyBox has shown me that they are worth what you pay for!
I placed an order in June 22, still not received. When calling customer service, they say it will be another 6 weeks. Read the fine print, that says it takes 10/12 weeks or pay a serious upcharge to receive in 10 days. They are masters at uncharges. Can't speak to the quaility of the product yet, since it will be another month and half to receive it back.
I paid over $2500 a few years back for 3 trunk and 2 closet sizes. Horrible life events took over and I was not able to send in any videos/pictures to be processed. Now that I want to send in material, I can get 3 trunk and 2 closet sizes for close to $500 less. $500! The person who took my call was gracious, but did not have the authority to help me. The supervisor called and, very nastily and with a short temper, insisted that I could not apply the entire $2500 to any future orders. I could get 3 trunks and 2 closets, but lose the $500. Huh? All I was requesting was that the money I paid could be applied to whatever product I was going to purchase at Legacy Box. The supervisor's response was unreasonable and certainly unfair, and he was quite condescending, I might add. I cannot believe Legacy Box does not offer gift cards to be applied to purchases and that my losing $500 meant nothing to them.
I wish that I had read these reviews before sending all my videos and pictures in. I sent them in May and I'm still waiting to receive them back. I work for a small business, and something that I have drilled into my employees is to UNDER promise and OVER deliver because when you do what these people do, it is extremely annoying for your customers. I sent them my old videos, expecting to get them back in 6-8 weeks, and I was not happy about paying the crazy-expensive prices either. But I did. Now, I totally regret it! I wish I had used a different service, and I plan to let anyone else who asks know that they should avoid Legacy Box - the wait time is ridiculous. They have sent me silly little updates that say "we are still working on your order". I think that they should start giving refunds for each week that they are late, maybe then, they would have the incentive they need to get it to their customers on time.
Do NOT use Legacybox for your digitizing. I have placed call after call with them and I keep getting the same song and dance that they don't have staff and are short handed, Covid, etc. YET I keep getting emails and messages for more business and sales they are having. They should not advertise for more business if they can not manage the business they have. Buyer beware! Good marketing to pull you in. Beyond that - Fail. I requested my product back and was told they couldn't return since it is "so close to being processed! If you have 20 weeks + to wait for the return of your product, then this is the service for you. Not even sure I will see my product in 20 + weeks as I was told. I have no trust.
Legacy Box digitalized a VHS tape and three audio cassettes for me. They did an outstanding job! The process took a few months, but it was well worth the wait. I appreciated, especially, the fact that they stayed in touch throughout the process with updates; I welcomed the fact that I knew exactly where my order was along the way. I would certainly use them again, if I have the need.
My elderly parents, 87 and 85 years old moved in with us and we thought it would be a good idea to use Legacybox to update old movies. What a mistake! We sent in our order on April 2,2022, paid over $400, (the check was cashed in a timely manner) Today is August 14,2022 and still no product! I wanted these memories for my parents to enjoy, not to play at their memorial service! The Order Number is L*******. Can anyone help!
Legacybox has now had my precious memories for 16 weeks. Before I mailed them in I was told the turn around time was supposed to be 6-8 weeks and then once they had them I was told it is really 8-12 weeks and then when that also passed I was told 16 weeks and now it has been 16 weeks and they still have not even started digitizing them. These memories are precious and irreplaceable to me. It took me a long time to get the nerve to send them anywhere out of fear that something would happen to them. I researched legacybox before choosing them and am so disappointed and scared that there is something wrong and they have destroyed the only video memories I and my children have of my late husband. The most frustrating part is in spite of them being so far behind they are still advertising and sending emails constantly trying to get more business. Please stay away from this company unless you want to have many months of waiting and worrying about your memories.
Sent our 20 tapes in March and just got them back this August. We never knew where things were at.
We did get what we wanted, just took way too long.
Customer service is great. They updated me often on what was happening with my items and where they were in the process. It did take a long time, so if this is something you need for a special occasion you should plan way in advance. My items were returned safely and boxed very securely against damage. I would be completely satisfied except that I took the time to put my photos in chronological order and they are mixed up on the discs. I have a college graduation picture of my oldest daughter and then a picture of me when I was young and then my youngest daughter as a baby, etc. I am disappointed in that aspect but otherwise satisfied.
While the company says work is processed in 6 to 8 weeks, maybe now 10 to 12 because of pandemic, labor shortages blah, blah, they keep advertising for more business. Some honesty would be refreshing.
If you can't handle the work you have now, don't keep pushing for more business. Hard to imagine that Legacy deserves even one star
The wait was 4 months and I wasn't sure if I would ever get anything back. I eventually did and was impressed by the good quality because not everyone got orders with good quality.
Regardless, I won't be using them again because of the long wait.
The wait was horrible and this company needs to improve in that department. The quality is good, but each video was 2 hours long. The first 10/20/30 minutes (however long was recorded) was the video itself, and the last however long was remaining was a snowy screen or a blue screen.
I think all the video was shown, but that worried me. I hope I got the full videos.
Took longer than I expected but was worth the wait. These folks are organized and do an amazing job. I am pulling it together again to do more with them. FOR SURE!
You don't get much for what you pay. Yes, they digitize your pictures, but you pay extra for discs, thumb drives, etc. The disc is in JPEG format, so it will not play on a TV even though their site says it will. Not worth the money or the frustration!
I sent 10 VHS tapes & 3 audio tapes. They converted 3 VHS tapes & 1 audio tape. It took 3 months (only because I complained & they moved me up to priority status). I watched the VHS tapes they didn't convert & could see nothing wrong with them. I would not trust them again. The quality of the work was fine, but they promise WAY MORE than they deliver.
I'm so disappointed with the treatment I am receiving from Legacy Box. I sent in my tapes months ago and received update emails but until today have been unable to speak with a human. They currently possess my most precious memories which I would like returned before they are gone forever. The agent on the phone was so uncaring and said she could move them to production immediately but could not return them. I would like them back with a refund ASAP. Apparently a manager is calling me. I just want my belongings back. Legacy Box failed to deliver on every level!
My order took 16 weeks to process. Nothing unusual in the order. The first 15 minutes of one mini dvd copy has choppy audio and is not understandable. Customer service was quite limited, suggesting that the choppiness was because the original was choppy but this is not true. Issue is still not resolved 2 weeks later. Never using legacybox again.
I had not seen these movies since about 40 years ago and was shocked to see how well they had been cleaned up and saved. The Legacybox crew did an amazing job and bringing them back from the 'almost' dead. They are clear, bright and now saved for posterity. I highly recommend Legacybox if you are looking to clean up and save your old family movies... they even managed to save my mother and fathers wedding from 1948! Great job!

Answer: No. Just went through this with them. It's a "tough luck" and they keep your money.
Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
