I am so happy I chose this company to preserve my childhood memories! I am completely satisfied with the end result, plus they provide excellent communication from start to finish!
This was the most frustrating experience ever! I mailed my VHS tapes in back in February to get converted to CD's. Waited and waited, no update from Legacybox, I inquired to received the same message over and over- "Your order is in process, getting ready to go to production". I received this same message every time I inquired. Finally, 4 months of this, I asked for a specific commitment which they would not give me. I kept getting the run around. I completely lost confidence that anyone at this company knew what was going on. As I mentioned, they were also not proactive in providing me updates, I always had to ask.
Bottom line is I finally threatened to call the Better Business Bureau and asked for my tapes back, they did send my tapes back and did give me credit but wanted to charge me for shipping. I pushed back and they finally gave me credit for that as well.
I would not trust this company to do what they say they will do. All hype and never delivered a thing except horrible service.
Legacybox, if you want to run a business, I would suggest being upfront with your customers relative to a timeline, being honest when they ask you questions, and pick up the phone and place an actual call instead of your canned email responses. I am so disappointed.

I can only say - do NOT give your 8mm films to these people. It will take three times as long as they promised, and what you'll get back for the enormously over-priced sum you paid them is a disorganized jumble of your original films thrown in a box - and a tiny flash drive that you will almost miss among the chaos. Find a good local place if you can, or a place in the closest city to you that won't shine you on every time to reach out to find out what in heck happened to your order. This company spends so much time and effort and money on marketing, graphics and digital bots that they might SEEM to have thier act together but it's all a smoke screen for a completely substandard, DISAPPOINTING and absurdly OVERPRICED operation.

There are so many options for digitizing old family photos and videos. My mother passed away when I was 10, so the VHS tapes with her are very important and it took me a long time to let them go to a place to be digitized. Their website says it takes about 8 weeks - they had my stuff for 5 months. I only sent in 4 tapes with about 30 minutes on each of them and 40 photos, so it wasn't a massive order. DVDs won't allow for fast forwarding, rewinding or skipping on my DVD player, so I have no idea how this is helpful. They get a star for returning everything in proper condition, but there was NOTHING special about their product. Don't waste your time. Go to Costco instead.

Your VHS tapes are each on their own disc, so you wouldn't need to skip between tracks, but you should be able to fastforward or rewind. Legacy box advertises like crazy and out and out lie about how long it will take. I tell every one I know what horrible company Legacy Box is to work with. It took months plural for you to process the order. Did you send any updates? None at all. And then when I contact you, you act like it is no big thing. Don't worry I will put this on Google, yelp and any other platform I can find you in.

Don't trust your heirloom memories to this Legacy Box. I sent film at end of February and after a flurry of standard emails describing supposed progress then nothing.

They promise delivery in 6 to 8 weeks once they receive the order. They received my order on March 3rd. It is now 13 weeks out, and it is still in the processing stage. They advised could be another 4 to 6 weeks!
BUYER BEWARE - Their Facebook page is filled with complaints just like mine.

I still cant complain about the results becasue I have not got antyghing yet. It has been almost four months now and the tracking feature on their webiste says that my order is on queue. Really? $ months now and it is on Queue? Wow... I couldve done it faster at home. I just thought my time was more precious but now I am at risk of losing 30 years of memories.
From the day I ordered and paid it took them 20 days just to get it on their list of items recieved. Four months later I am still waiting.

These guys stack their workload way ahead of time, so you never know how long you will have to wait, unless you order their expedited service. Not a good service... there are many others that are cheaper and faster...

Sent material in January, has been waiting for a "slot" to open for completion since March 22nd. Do not believe any positive reviews as they maybe posted by the company itself. Cannot reach the founders of the business to escalate issue - advised contact info not available for them so no other recourse.

Great turn around time & instructions. Next year going to do my father's reels to DVDs from my parent's years with us! Also, there are options for how you want formatting. The online access makes it so easy for friends & family to view/ hear! They offer several times with reduced rates. It was a wonderful experience!
We had old super 8 film from 1962, 1968, 1975 and 1976 in different reels! We were worried they would break and crumble. Legacy box did a great job and preserved our memories! Thank you! Will definitely send more reels!
My order took six months to process. Evidently those willing to pay more get to go before you shoving you farther back in line. Whoever processed my order was not willing to take the old slides I sent out of their trays. They came back untouched and undigitized.
I am thrilled with the digitization of my old movies and audio. I was not sure of the quality of my originals and was nervous about how they might turn out. But the result was way above my expectation. The VHS tape transfer result was good quality. The audio cassettes were clear and easy to understand. I am thrilled with the result. Most definitely worth the money.

I sent 1650 pictures the way they advised and they did a great job in copying them. Clear and in the order I sent them.
All parties I have dealt with at Legacy Box have been very helpful in getting the product I ordered… thank you all
I researched sites that provided conversion services and decided to give Legacybox a try. I sent 3 200 foot reels for conversion to thumb drive. The published 5-6 week turnaround time became 12 weeks. The 3 files on the thumb drive were as good as I expected for 61 year old film of early marriage years and first son. The price was reasonable for what I received but I could have saved $$ but just getting the download file and editing that to my own thumb drive. It looks like they always have a "special" of x % off of list.
Early on in the wait process I replied to one of their status emails suggesting that they may want to alter their emails to an easier to read format/font. Their reply, YOU COULD ALWAYS ALTER IT YOURSELF, (my caps) did not seem to be a very customer friendly reply.
I still have another 3-4 reels to be converted as well as about 150 slides. I might try one of the other sites just to get a comparison of service. OVERALL SATISFIED!

Well I was all excited to have our old tapes from our wedding, and the births of our children digitized. We haven't seen them in years and I was going to surprise my wife for our anniversary in June, but 10 weeks into it and I'm still waiting and they still haven't even started digitizing my files. The original lead time was 4 to 6 weeks then they told me 10 to 15 weeks... Not even sure if they even know when they're gonna get to it... Yet they advertise via text everyday for for me to get my new tapes in for Mother's Day... don't see how that's at all possible for anyone to get anything within a week or 2... again I'm 10 weeks in and keep getting the same email saying we're getting ready to digitize and I've seen nothing. Oh yeah and I made the mistake of telling my wife I had a surprise for her. That was 2 months ago and I'm running out of excuses as to why I can t reveal.it... causing me stress. Not happy at all...
They start contacting you right away, order received, then assigned etc.

Then comes another notification and another but you don't get the finished product for months!

Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Just put a note in your box if you have a PAL tape. *Film: 8mm, Super8,16mm, and Super16 A note on sound: Since sound on film is so rare, and to ensure we're providing the highest quality transfers, it is not our standard process to digitize film with sound. *Photos: 35mm Slides, Photo Prints (up to 8.5 x 11"), and 35mm Negatives A note on photo packaging: When sending in your photos, slides, or negatives, we ask that you remove them from any extraneous container, group them in bundles of 25 and place them in clear plastic ziplock bags or envelopes. *Audio: Standard Audio Cassette Tapes, Mini Cassettes, Micro Cassettes, and 1/4" Reel-to-Reel Audio If you have any more questions, let me know. Answer: No. Just went through this with them. It's a "tough luck" and they keep your money.
Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
