Just over 12 months ago I had the leaf filter gutter guards installed on the front and rear porches of my home as pine needles blowing off trees and onto roof would constant plug the gutters. Ads on TV and displays caught my attention, especially the TV ads "Never climb a ladder again". Leaf filter guards were installed. Yesterday the first heavy rain of the year washed pine needles onto the leaf filter covers, where they are stuck and the water ran over the needles and off the front of the gutters. The service department of Leaf Filter doesn't have to be as charming as sales. They know they have you screwed and can't do a thing about it. Told me they would come out, but if it would be a $95 charge because they only guarantee that stuff won't clog the inside of the gutters. Wait a minute; the ads and sales people conveniently leave this statement out, so technically they can get away with it. Don't be fooled by their sales pitch like I was, Spread the word what a scam they really are.
The company was very personable. They were willing to work with us and our family. If you ever need any work done, I recommend contacting them.

I had my gutters installed last November, 2022. I have a metal roof and was VERY SPECIFIC in questioning if it would work with snow sliding off. I was told numerous times it would work fine.
This winter the gutters were destroyed. The snow falling off the roof caused damage. Ice built up in the gutters. At least there's a warranty I thought!
When I called in the spring I was told that they will come out and give me an estimate to fix them.
What about the warranty? And no way do I want them fixed, they need to be taken down anyways as they very likely are causing damage hanging off the eves of my house! The warranty only covers "clogging". Not at all as it was portrayed by the sales representative.
I am VERY disappointed. They are coming for my "estimate" in 3 weeks. I will happily update this review if I get my money refunded and the gutters taken down and away.

Job could not be fully completed on the first visit 3/28/23. Part of the house being renovated. The crew said, they will be in two days, and not need for me to re-scheduled. They never did, and I' still waiting 3/31/23. When custormer service was contacted, they were very nasty, unprofessional/Disgruntled. When I called back, the person did not have a clue of the problem, and also had an attitude. I'm trying to contact corporate headquaters but phones or address are is not advertized in the web.A $7,000.00 job Check for $5,000.00 is still here with me, but they have to complete the job. Unnessary arrogance in the way they treat customers.

I had Leaf Filter installed in August 2022 on top of my currently existing gutters. Starting in January 2023 when it snowed, I noticed that the snow would accumulate over the filter on top of the gutter and water would drip over the gutter's edge all around the building as the snow melted. The water didn't go into the gutter but over it. The water dripped over the gutter all around the house and onto my steps causing the water to freeze and form ice on the steps which created a hazardous condition. This happens every time it snows. Leaf Filter should keep leaves out not snow!
Since I have only had the Leaf Filter for eight months I have not experienced all the seasons yet, I do know that Leaf Filter does not work in areas that get snow.
I have filed a complaint with Leaf Filter and asked that the Leaf Filter be removed and my money refunded.
Leaf Filter sent out various technicians to inspect the Leaf Filter gutter installation. They came up with the same reason for the issue which I was having.
1. The reason the gutter was leaking over the gutter edge was that the pitch of the roof was making this happen.
2. The overflow problem that you are experiencing is due to the way the ice and snow defrosts and refreezes on your roof.
The reasons above confirm that the Leaf Filters do not work on my type of roof and they should have removed them and given me a refund. The installation of the Leaf Filter gutter protection made my gutters useless since the water flows over the Leaf Filter and over the gutters. Gutters are there to provide protection for my home, they protect my roof, they protect my foundation, they keep my basement dry, they protect my landscaping and most importantly they prevent me from slipping on ice.
Last week the regional manager contacted me and said they will not refund my money or remove the leaf filter guards because the installation is correct and that I already had the leaf filter guards since August 2022.
Do not buy Leaf Filter, they are not good when it snows, the salesmen are pushy and the price is ridiculously high. You could get a better deal elsewhere, shop around and read the reviews.

Unlike their commercials, LeafFilter requires cleaning if you have any trees around the house. Even when the filter is clean, rain water runs directly over the screen and down the side of house. The system has damaged my home from rotten siding, soffit, eve, etc. to the cost of $20,000.
I gave them an extra star in the rating because they will come out and service the gutters under the warranty However, the warranty does not cover everything and I have had to spend a small fortune fixing the problem that the filter and their gutters left behind.
We understand that being a homeowner comes with many responsibilities and the last thing you want to do is clean your gutters. LeafFilter is considered "low-maintenance" because like any exterior part of your home, there is some level of upkeep required for optimal performance. While you may have to brush off any debris that doesn't blow off on its own - you won't have to clean your gutters out! Put on wrong color. Didn't fix holes in gutter. Put filters under shingles in places. Put the filter over leaves in one gutter. Only did the back on the house and said they wouldn't do the front.
Called the day there put it on and told them to take it off.

Starts from day one when the salesperson tells you how great they are and promises everything then you have an installer that cancels every appointment and you lose work wages with late night calls cancelling at last minute. Managers do nothing as well just try rescheduling to another day they don't come. Job# ANA*******

Ok a guy came out to give us an estimate, he started at $2500 then he went down to $2100 and then he went to $1250, we agreed on that and start next Monday, then i get a text saying they had material left over from a large commercial job, the same color and size i needed but never heard anything else, two weeks went by we called and called all three numbers on the business card, finally they answered and got us back on the calendar for Thursday, on Wednesday I get a call saying the gave me the wrong price and it was gonna be $100 more and I said ok then the next day I was waiting on the workers to show up and I get a phone call saying they had to charge me $100 more and I said yall already changed the quote 3 different times, I finally got feed up and said don't worry about it, i will find someone else that will do the job, please don't waist your time with these people

They "sold" me 64ft of leaffilter for $2400 installed. The salesman was a con artist and got me good. High pressure sales pitch and all. Looking back, he lied from start to finish. I refused to pay a month after installation. The filters are to thick. Their called micro mesh for a reason. Micro parts of water is all that can go through a micro filter. Da. Ive been sold a product that cost me over $40 ft that does not work. Talked crazy to by their office and generally mistreated by these people. I'm sure somebody's gonna sue but I refuse to be stolen from. I'm a disabled senior citizen if it matters. They did offer to come get them but it would cost a $1200 fee for canceling and a service call to get them. Every time I think about it I get madder and madder. They folded the contract so my cool down rights were hidden, and I can prove it. The ink on the contact paper bleed threw to the folded side. It matches up perfectly with the handwriting. I called them and told them I didn't think this was legal and on top of that the contract dates were left open. I told them that. The bank sent me a copy of the contract and they had filled in the dates later. Bogas practice if even legal. I cant get closeups of the contracts they come out blurry, but you can see what I mean on the fold and the hidden rights of buyer

So my neighbor and I had a Leaf Filter salesmen. Both homes had 50' of good gutters PERIOD! Price was $2500+. Got the speech of all gutters cleaned, wiped, re caulked, all leaders cleaned made perfect. All work done by Company personnel. $2500 is $50 per foot. I said NO my neighbor said yes. The next day an old Van with an "Electric Company name with telephone number covered by blue painters tape arrived. One person, driver. Who spoke little English arrived. He was NOT an employee of Leaf Filter. In fact probably not a legal citizen! One man working on ladder and roof. NOT SAFE! Within one hour his installation was complete. Did not clean gutters just removed large debris. Did not wipe gutters. Did not re caulk anything! Did not clean out down leaders. In fact one leader had an "S" installed backwards. This was pointed out to salesmen. Was it fixed? Sure he removed "S" crimped it, re installed it. NO NEW PARTS. Problem is white paint that was inside the leader was now outside and no longer had paint on it. SO now it was a band of Brown. ( see pic)No new $3- part! Leader straps were all loose and never repaired. Sales guaranteed all would be repaired and perfect. $50 per foot for what should be $12 a foot. Paid $2500 for what should be $700- RIPOFF BEWARE LEAF FILTER YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

Quick the local company is. Quick to get the job done. Not quick when it comes to clean up or follow up. The sales individual was pleasant as is the main 1-844 office personnel. However, the installer was quick in a hurry to get home. The excellent cleanup promised to happen after the job-did not happen. Debris was left on my concrete stairs and in the grass. Head office requested photos of the poor cleanup, which were provided. An individual came to evaluate the installation and spent time adjusting a downspout and installing screws. A report was to be generated and a follow up phone call was promised. The report never followed and a phone did not happen. I called in November for a July job. A local manager stated clean up is not his problem. The local office stands behind the system but not the cleanup by the installer which was non-existent. The report will hopefully follow.
There has been no follow-through by the 1-844 number.

We contacted Leaf Filter and they were able to send a salesman that same week.
Salesman seemed very knowledgable, demonstrated how the system worked.
We applied for financing and were approved. Salesman scheduled install for July 3rd. Day of install, they didn't show up, that evening company called and said they wouldn't be out as their truck broke down but they would be out first thing July 5th. The installer showed up and said they would get started. Awhile later, they knocked on the door and tell us the salesman must have measured wrong as the supplies they had would not work.
They said they would have someone call us. No one called for a few weeks. We called, they told us they were waiting to hear back from the salesman and corporate about getting the right supplies, they would call and let us know when they were able to install. A few weeks after not hearing from them, we called to check on things. They said they were still waiting on a call from corporate and they would call and let us know. Over 4 months later, we still haven't heard back from them.

Salesperson was deceptive and dishonest. Misrepresented their product. Several issues with their technicians including but not limited to one of their technicians causing property damage. I was berated and insulted by their sales manager. I have been placing weekly complaints to their corporate customer service but without any assistance. They keep telling me that they have had several people encounter issues with their Tampa office and I would receive a call from their regional office who would assist with a resolution. It's been a month and a half and still no call back. Never been scammed this bad before by a vendor.

The "sell" and installation might be an enjoyable, but Leaf filter has put the burden on me for any issue moving forward. Not only have they limited their responses, but they have duplicated "automated" emails to me within the same correspondence. Basically told me I'm SOL and buy a roof brush, hop on a ladder (for a 2 story house), or pay a service charge for them to come clean out their product. I would not recommend this product/customer service for the pretty penny we paid. It's unfortunate as I think the product has yet to prove it's worth. Water is overflowing on a portion of my gutter on two separate occasions, same spot, but 6 months apart. Leaf Filter's response was the burden is on me to clean it out. So clean out a patented product that's not doing what it was designed to do? It's clogged and not even brining the gutter's functions into play. By the way, I've only had this for maybe 1 year.

There were a few hiccups but the company sent laborers out to fix the problem within the week. They were apologetic and thoughtful as they made their product as it should be. I have not been on top of the roof but hope all is exactly what they said. Job OKC *******

We are happy with this product BUT the loan was given to Wells Fargo Bank, N. A. and it has been a nightmare ever since. WFBank has horrible CS representatives! They have called and tormented my 91 year old mother about being late on a payment. She was placed into a Nursing Home and we lost the payment sheet. She was called on a Sunday morning and ridiculed about the late payment and has been charged $83 more dollars. This company, Wells Fargo Bank, N. A. is a loan (shark) company that cares for nobody and real-life situations. Please be sure your loan will not be given to this loan company... BEWARE!

Hired leaf filter for gutter covers. Horrible job. They did NOT do 1 thing they said they'd do. Violently jammed cover under overhanging shingle and bent shingle over 90 degrees causing damage. Shingles covered 2 1/4 inches of cover, blocking half the gutter. Customer service rep comes out and says they need to cut shingles back. Something the salesman stressed they would never do. He walked of the job with no viable solution. Filed complaint with MN Attorney Generals office which leaf filter totally disregarded. Filed complaint with BBB. Will see if it gets a response. Next is a law suit.

They charged us to clean the gutters and left most Of the debris is on the ground how are you gonna charge somebody to clean something and leave the mess but just move it to the ground and out of the gutter it's ridiculous

At wits end with the Portland, ME branch of Company. LeafFilter was Three+ times the price of other Gutter and Guard installation quotes for my home. Weighing the options, I chose to go with them because of the brand and the lifetime warranty of the product.
After a short while, I noticed that debris was not shedding off my gutters. It was shedding off the roof, and resting comfortably on top of the gutter guards.
I called for service. Service was exceptionally fast and the tech was amazing. A truly 5-star visit. Not only did the tech clean the gutters around the entire house, he also noted problems with the gutter and guard installation:
1. Gutters installed with inappropriate pitch in multiple places causing standing water.
2. Insufficient quantity of hangers/supports installed causing LeafFilter guards to warp.
3. LeafFilter guards installed flat, without appropriate angle to shed debris.
Talking further to the Tech that day also revealed that the sub-contractor that did my installation was NOT the regular sub used for these jobs.
The tech told me that he and another tech would be scheduled to return and correct the problems.
I waited and waited, and heard nothing.
I contacted LeafFilter and was informed that as far as they were concerned the ticket was closed; there was no additional actions stated on the ticket (Right?!?!?!). They did not provide me a copy of the ticket. They did say they would check into it and pass it on "to the right department".
I waited and waited, and heard nothing.
I opened a new ticket, and an onsite appointment date and time window was scheduled for earlier this week. No call, no show.
Strike two, one more chance, then its looking like a lawsuit. This was too much money to accept as a job professionally and properly done.

Answer: No success story here. They boast a lifetime warranty that is deceiving basically worthless just as the product. I've had mine for 8 months! I got some hail damage and they said they'd replace them for $5107! I purchased them for $4921! I mentioned the warranty and it was like there was no such thing. So I'm out $4900 for some 8 month old damaged filters. Unless I want to pay $5107 to replace them! That is so unacceptable!
