They are prone to clogging with leaf and shingle grit debris. Then when clogged the rain water runs over. We explained it to LeafFilter and they sent someone out to check. Cleaned off the debris. $95. After we had them installed less than two years ago. The shingle grit was part of what was clogging and forcing the rain water to pour over. That would not have been an issue with regular rain gutters. The overflow ended up in our basement. Lots of water pouring over the gutter.

Horrible

They don't stand behind anything.
Clogs all the time and they do nothing bit want more money to clean...
Their guarantees and worthless.

I have to clean 2 to 3 times a year... water pours over tops. System doesn't work.

Fake warranty

I had a screen come off and they said it wasn't covered under warranty, only clogs were. That's not what they told me when they were selling me the expensive system.

I will start by saying that I think LeafFilter is selling a good product, and all of the installers I dealt with were very competent, courteous, and honest. Ultimately, I am happy with the installation, but your mileage may vary greatly depending on the quality of the local office arranging the jobs. The Albany, NY branch operations were terrible. It started off poorly with a salesperson who made a bunch of promises about job timing and process and made good on none of them. LeafFilter struggled to arrange my installations, struggled to provide accurate contracts that reflected what we discussed, did not send the right quantity of installers the first time for either of my jobs, and did not send the installers with the correct Bill of Materials for the job. When I was finally able to get installers on site, I had to re-explain both jobs to them as they had been sent without proper briefs from their schedulers and had been sent with extra materials that were not applicable. LeafFilter seems to be selling a good product, but their Albany, NY branch management is certainly not representing the company the way it portrays itself in terms of competence or professionalism.

Buyer beware!

1 star for the salesman he got us to bite hook line and sinker!
1 star for the leaf filter itself that seems fine.
We were scheduled for 8am nobody showed. I called at 10am because I didn't want to sit around all day if no one was coming. I got a sorry for no courtesy call but they would be here! 130pm, pickup with ladder racks arrives, 1 man crew no ID on vehicle. Professional 1 man crew put up ladder took major debris from gutter, didn't
Need the hose as he didn't wash the gutters out he just screwed leaf filter on! Sat on the roof to install. 230pm done and gone.
WAY to much money for this kind of job. Nothing came close to what salesman said was going to be done. Clean gutters,check drop, repair any leaking seams,etc. Etc.
I don't recommend leaf filter based on my experience. I hope it works because it's mine now, at 74 I failed to use the old adage measure twice and cut once. I hope this helps someone.

Extremely unhappy. One year in and one popped off. Called for service and made an appointment. A guy showed up two days early when no one was home and said everything was fine. I called and told them it was not fine and that I wanted to keep the same appointment. Sat here all day and no one showed up. Customer service personnel argued with me on the phone. For what the product costs the customer service should be much better.

If u answer one of the ads for pricing- the Automatic Google system calls *multiple times per day RELENTLESS - Obnoxious and they won't stop...all I was interested in was how much it COST. I have blocked them from my phone & I get repeated texts,calls Over & over & over.Obnoxious. If I ever wanted filters on my house "the LAST company I would use is Leaf Filters! Beware- the calls -automatic or Not,are still Continuing! This is being reinforced by Google Leads. Google is responsible as [email protected] (the Leaf Co.s "reccomended" " address Response address" is NON functional! Many others have same issues -- look up the Ever increasing Negative reviews. The Leaf Co.s' responses are Inadequate & seem to only Blow Customers or "potential " customers off! If they cared - they wouldn't make it unbelievably difficult to stop being harassed! THEY solicited me!...the ad "appears like" End user (potential customer/victim) will get an Easy free cost estimate after u give some info like house size, location etc...but once u fill out info *requests from Leaf Filter*- then their harassment Begins! They know how to stop it---but make YOU jump thru hoops & loops to End the barrage of auto- computer generated Unwanted emails & phone calls! If & when the Unwanted calls/emails STOP --- (for at least 2 weeks) then--& only then...Will I reply to Anything from Leaf Filter acknowledging the End of THEIR harassment. Stay tuned & it is my belief that the harassment is by design & Relentless intentionally! IF they wanted to make it easy to cease contact--- they could have an UN-Scribe Or Cease harassment Bolded verbiage (just like Non- evil companies do) & make it EASY for us end users to facilitate the End of UN wanted emails & UN wanted calls--*Stay tuned for updates*** I am counting down to see "if_ * I get 14 consecutive days of Peace & quiet * again B4 I reply to Anything from this company going forward. Not installed as what sales person sold or pictures show. Cheap and flimsy, not secured as they said they would do. Cheap bent metal put under gutters that are not secured by anything and will eventually fall out over time. Eye sore because they put splash guards in areas which will cause build up of stuff ontop of screens. Gutters installed toooo low...was my original problem which causes splashing on edges of gutters when it rains hard. Besides clogging and mold. Installers seem to be contracted out, non-marked vehicle and no advertising signs or anything as was stated to have in my yard during install... wonder why...hmmmm Lifetime Warranty is a lie, it only covers clogs inside gutters, not ontop of anything else for which you have to pay a service fee for. I should have seen red flags when it only took 1.5 hours to remove and install new gutters and system. I hope management gets ahold of me in the morning... I called the customer service number and they set up a appointment 3 days from now to address the install...I just had it dont today 6/27/23... That is just bad business... sell a product...get bad results... and have to wait to get anything fixed. I suggest to anyone to read the complaints at the BBB website before you hire this company...How do they have such a high rating with sooooo many complaints constantly

You can buy this product at local supply houses for literally 1/50th of the price they charge. It's a shame they take advantage of older people who are vulnerable.

I like the product and they boast about there install how clean and efficient it will be. Well reality is that the install was a slob and everything in the gutter was tossed all over the ground, old metal bracket tossed all over the place and screws left behind on the ground. Not to mention the stuff out of the gutter he threw onto my windows. Now i have to spend my time cleaning up there mess. Called customer service and left a message and what a shocker, no return call. I will definitely not recommend them to any of my neighbors or friends. Its a shame when even customer service leaves a bad taste along with the installers.

I got scammed into installing Leaf Filter in Feb 2023. O am writing this review in June 2023.

I have a 3 storey house and thought it would help reducing the gutter cleaning. Since then, I have had to call them multiple times for an overflow issue in few places. Apparently in places where rooflines meet, a bit of debri sits there and causes water to overflow.

They came and installed some splash guards in these areas. It works fine in some spots - but not in others. Particularly my balcony where the overflow of water has led the water into my sliding door and the water has come inside the house damaging base boards. So definitely not worth the money - they are not working and instead causing damage.

I have called them to come fix this. Technician gave me a date but didn't show up. After I called again said he will come in 2 days to investigate.

I don't not have trust that this company will be able to do anything and will keep making excuses. To prevent causing any further damage I am seriously considering taking them all off at my expense.

I do NOT recommend this product or company. You are better off having your gutters cleaned regularly.

During the COVID Shutdown of July 2020, leafFilter came out and did a wonderful job repairing and replacing gutters that were damaged by trees banging against my home. I have never had an issue with the quality of their work. Recently, a pair of eagles were circling overhead while I was outside. I wondered what they were hunting for and apparently, it was the squirrel sitting at the edge of my roof on top of my gutters. I told Customer Service my downspouting was knocked out of place and I feel like I should be calling NASA at Mission Control to report " The Eagle Has Landed." LeafFilter took care of it.

We got this on our home and after less than a year the mesh they install came out in a window storm, they came a fixed it once and then when it happened a second time they refused to unless we paid over $100 in a service charge! After getting the service charge knocked down to $50+ the tech came out and told us we could have fixed it ourselves!

I will never recommend this product to ANYONE and regret our purchase in the first place as it cost us over $2,500 - For it to fall apart on multiple occasions - In less then 2 years!

BEWARE TOTAL OVER PRICED
The LEAFFILTER salesperson measured my house for gutter footage which he said was 395lin ft (WRONG) i measured it at 355 lin ft 40 lin ft RIP OFF wait it gets better.
After a very good sales pit the quote was $******* but with todays only discount the price was $******* I told him that was way to expensive he asked how much did you want to spend about $7000.
HE SAID TODAYS ONE TIME OFFER PRICE WAS $6750
HIT THE ROAD JACK NEVER LOOK BACK

Have never been treated so rude in my life. Had salesman come out almost 3 weeks ago. Was told by him he could have a crew out in 2-3 days. Was told someone would call to let me know when they are coming out. No one ever called me. After a week and a half I called them. Was told they had me down for May 24th. No one ever showed. Called them again and was told they are short on crews and more crews were coming in on May 25th and they would be out at around 9am on May 25th. Again no one showed. Called and talked to Ralph and was told they got hung up at another job and could be out May 26th. Told him I just would like to cancel as I don't appreciate being strung along. He had a lady Penny or Peggy call me who was very rude. Right away she told me that no one ever said they would be out on May 24th and that the salesperson never told me it would be 2-3 days for a crew to come out. Even threatened to raise the price on me, because said I had flexible insulation which I was never told about. Caught her lying about why they weren't there today as she told me the crew had engine troubles with their truck, then back tracked when I called her on it. I really dont appreciate a company telling me I am lying about what I was and wasn't told. Wish I never signed up to get these gutters. Terrible company. Numerous neighbors have been asking me about the gutters and I will make sure to let them know about their terrible service. Side note Ralph was understanding and very polite. I have now taken off 2 days of work for nothing and still have no gutters up!

They come out to give an estimate. High estimate over 11,000. When I asked about promotional email discount he ignored me. After the 3rd time he asked to see the email. Quote went to 8000.00 Quote good only until he left. The guy WOULD NOT LEAVE he then called his boss to bully us. UNBELIEVABLE! It took another 20 mins. To get rid of him. I had to start carrying his stuff out. His boss on the phone was extremely unprofessional. In the driveway the quote went to 5000.00 after bullying my husband and myself Do not have them in your house unless you are 100% sure you are buying THAT day. The longer they stay the lower the quote but after talking to Scott and hearing HIS BOSS I would never give them a penny!

When I saw the leaffilter commercials I wondered what was going to stop the leaves and pine needles and stuff from piling on top of the filter and causing the same problem. My question was answered by many of your negative reviews. What happens is exactly what one would think would happen, the leaves and pine needles and stuff build on top of the filter and clog your filter. This means that you do in fact have to climb a ladder again and you do in fact have to clean the filter off which is still having to clean your gutter to unclog it. The reason that I have decided NOT to go with leaffilter is not just because of the negative reviews about my question, but about the responses I read from leaffilter themselves. They won't own up to anything like most companies won't and they just come up with a bunch of stupid excuses like most companies do. This is exactly what I figured before I started digging into it but I'm still glad I dug into it to prove to myself that leaf filter is just another worthless lying company. Thank everybody for your reviews I appreciate it.

Buyer beware! They will happily sell you their expensive leaf filtration system. They will tell you how fantastic it works. They will tell you it has a great warranty. The big kick in your pants comes when their "great product " FAILS to work and develops a significant problem. They will charge YOU a $95 service fee or trip charge to come repair their failed product. Even after they left us waiting ALL DAY for their repair tech who never showed, they still wouldn't waive the trip charge for their rescheduled repair. I'm feeling very frustrated over all this. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable company that stands behind their work. Looking forward to seeing them at one of our local fall festivals. Might just pack a cooler and sit in a folding chair warning potential customers about their terrible service.

We had entered a contract in Jan for gutters to be installed in April. The salesman was polite but very pushy and said well loose the price if we don't sign now. I told him we had to pay for a new roof and just wanted estimate. After bargaining with my husband we sign the contract. The salesmen even made the comment were in the Uber rich column and I said no we save and pay for it. I felt that was very rude. Moving forward to April we had a death in the family and those funds needed allocated elsewhere. So we called and said wanted to cancel contract. 3 weeks later we still have no documentation on what we need to do to cancel or where to send the rest of the 25% restocking fee. We had paid half with our deposit. My husband finally heard from. Someone early last week who said they'd do it 3k cheaper if we signed by the end of month. He said no needing to cancel and we haven't heard back. This should not be such a hard task and I'd like this closed so I can focus on my family members who are needing us right now. Thank you

Update: we received the automated response I've seen many get we have tried emailing and texting and calling the support number with no resolution. We are trying to do the right thing by paying the 25% we owe. And they make it darn near impossible to do. I responded to the private msg to leaf filter guess well see what happens. It's like they want u to get frustrated enough where u say fine just install. But after all this I'm glad we had to cancel because this is completely unacceptable customer service.

Update: as of June 17 still no word from leaf filter. If u send them a msg from this site they don't respond. After reading many reviews it seems like no one can get leaffilter employees to return calls or emails. Don't waist your time with this company. We were trying to give them money owed and they ignored us. We're not waisting time on them any more we've considered our case close we lost $1700 on a deductible. However, The quote we were given was $10,650. Our house is one story 1650 Sq ft. With a 450sq ft unattached garage. So we definitely could've been out more.
