I loved my buying experience, would definitely use them again and recommend to anyone looking to buy textbooks
I have used knetbooks for 3 semesters now and I would not use anyone else! Each time, their selection is great and prices below competition! I pay for expedited shipping ($5) and have my books within the week. A++!
Thank you for your positive feedback! Please send me your order number so I can send you a thank you for your positive feedback!

I rented books for the spring semester not wanting to buy something I couldn't use later and when I found that two of my three books I wanted to keep, I had the option to buy and just return the one other book I rented! I have used them once more for the summer semester and plan to use them again in the fall and even introduce my son and his girlfriend to the site when they reach college for all their book needs! Thanks Knetbooks!
Thank you so much!

It seems like my experience is shared by many others, this company charges an outrageous amount for late returns. This was my first time using this rental company, I should of stayed with my regular "go to" rental companies Ecampus, and Valore. I will, never, ever used them again. Please stay away from them. I admit that I returned the book 3 days later than the due date, but I was charged $250 for a book that costs between $80-$120 new. The customer service rep. Told me they will only refund 50% of the charges. This company is receiving from me a total of $200 for a book that I don't even get to keep. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I read their service agreement which does not state what the late fee will be. Be aware that the fee they charge will be more than 50% of the actual book cost, plus whatever you already paid for the rental.
Good morning Jazmin,
I am sorry to hear that you were charged for the late return of your rental. I have sent a message to the gmail.com account on file detailing some solutions to this issue.
Best Wishes,
Kate
Book arrived in a week in excellent condition. Great price. Customer service was very accommodating when I called about an issue with the due date.
Good morning Kim,
I'd love to thank you for your review! Please provide me with your order number by emailing me here or directly emailing me at [email protected].
Thank you!

Got one star because I had to pick one...
I ordered my Spanish book to include access to Supersite. Upon receipt I opened the book and the envelope with the access code to Supersite. Code did not work. Discovered that the code I needed was for Supersite Plus. I spoke with Knetbooks and was advised to return for refund. In the meantime I had to purchase the book and the proper code at a cost of $218. A few weeks later I contacted Knetbooks only to find out that I could not receive ANY money back because the envelope and the book had been opened. There was no way I could have known that I had the wrong site code without opening the site code envelope. So in addition to having to shell out $218 for the right code and book, I am out $70.99 for the wrong stuff I received from knetbooks. Do yourselves a favor and just get your books from your school bookstore. Most if not all of them now rent textbooks.

I am very dissatisfied with this company and how they shipped an order I canceled the same day of ordering. I submitted an online form to the company requesting to cancel my order the same day of ordering Jan 3,2017. The next day (Jan. 4,2017) around midday they email me back stating that the book was already shipped out but failed to provide a tracking number. I then got an email almost 7 hours later with the tracking number. I knew from the time they failed to provide the tracking number from the first email stating that they could not cancel, this company was a complete scam. I called UPS on (Jan. 5,2017) asking if they could reroute the package that I already cancelled. They informed me that the company would have to authorize that. I called the company directly after and the rep said that was something they could not do, once again another LIE. Then I go online to knetbooks.com to try to request a return for a book that I should not even have the hassle of sending back because I cancelled the order even before they shipped it clearly. I paid $17.96 in total for the book and they said they could only refund $4.66. What world do these people live in to think that this is ok! To have the nerve to take it upon themselves to still send a book I no longer wanted and expressed that to them in length of the same day, and have the nerve to still send the book out over a day later. The proof is in the pudding because for a book that I will never open, just simply want sent back which should of never been sent and receive that amount is OUTRAGEOUS! I will dispute the payment with my bank and contact the Better Business Bereau (BBB) to express my anger towards this company and them preying on college students like myself. Never had a problem with a book company either if it was to cancel a order, or receiving money that was wrongfully taken from my account such as this situation.
Mario,
I'm sorry to hear that your order was not able to be cancelled at your request. I would love to look into this for you. Please provide me with your order number so I can work with you to resolve this issue.
Thank you very much,
Kate
I rented a textbook from this company. It came with significant water damage. The previous renters invoice, papers, and a used star bucks gift card inside. The book was usable so I used it. I have now been charged for the damage to the book that was present when I received it. When contacting customer service I was disconnect through chat and told they could do nothing for me. When I called customer service they said the same thing. I was apparently supposed to report damage to the book when received, however nothing in the invoice said this. Apparently, it is not the rental companies responsibility to review the books they are sending out or receiving. After reviewing multiple other reviews I am convinced this company is a scam. I will be contacting my credit company to dispute the charges. I will also be contacting the better business bureau to report this scam of a company. Do not do business with this company. I have been renting textbooks for many years from other sites with no issue. I have no problem paying for damage I am responsible for, but that is not the case.
Alisha! I'm so sorry that this item was damaged upon the items receipt. Please email me with your order number directly at [email protected] so that I can help you come to a resolution.

I ordered a book a NEED for every one of my classes on a Wed morning. The book was supposed to be shipped out within 48 hours. That would be a Friday. The following Monday evening I got an email saying that they hadn't even received the book to ship out to me. When I called them, they were not able to give me any date as to when they would receive the book, and took zero accountability for the problem. They did absolutely nothing to compensate for their poor business. Bad business. No accountability. Do you really want to leave your success in these people's hands? I don't think so.

Wish I would've read these reviews before I rented from them. I had the same problem being charged 100% new book price the minute my book was late with NO REMINDER EMAILS until they sent the late one and had already charged me. Then when you return the book(within a specified time) they give you only 50% back. What a rip off! They get the book and the money! No satisfaction from customer service. I will never give them business again.
Paid almost $40 to rent a book. Returned the book ON TIME. They emailed me to say there was damage to the book (I returned the book for my son, it was fine). They then told me I owed them another $47 to BUY the book. I paid them and asked for the book back and then they proceeded to tell me since I didn't pay the ADDITIONAL $10 the day before, they "recycled" the book. Wish I had done more research I would have seen this is s sketchy company! Don't waste your money... rent from somewhere else!
This company works in ways that completely disgust me! They do their best to take your money and their company makes so much money off from poor college students, I don't see how someone hasn't investigated them yet.
Since I had to extend my order on 12/21/15, I have been on the phone with their company 25 times and have only talked to a real person three times. Yesterday was the 3rd time after trying to contact them for at least a week. Their customer service is despicable, I wouldn't even call it customer service. You're on hold forever and most of the time they don't respond to your emails.
Do not ever buy a book from here because once you do they have your credit card on file and the second you are late with a book you don't even get charged a late fee or an extension fee, you get charged THE FULL PRICE of the book. They do not except returns they only offer store credit which is garbage if you ask me. So now I have this book that I don't need anymore but because I was late returning it they charged me full price and will not let me return it.
There are so many other better book companies to go with, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
You may save a little money with them now but later you will pay for it when they charge your card hundreds of dollars.
They also operate through ecampus.com, biggerbooks.com, sellbackbooks.com and obviously knetbooks.com. Avoid them all, you will regret renting from them it's not worth it.
Your company is garbage!
Tip for consumers: They do not accept returns, they do not answer the phone when you call, they do not respond to your emails. What they do do is take money from your credit card without a warning and usually tell you a day or two after they've taken it out. They won't ever give you a refund only store credit.
If you do order from Knetbooks, you can expect free shipping and a wide selection of books. You can also expect to never get your book, and to get really terrible customer service. My book didn't have shipping information for a week after I ordered it and I just had an interaction with the customer service where they were quite snippy, and according to the new tracking number they gave me, my book has not even been shipped as of yet. A week. So I am now terribly behind on getting my work done. Do not waste your time with this company, despite their price and free shipping, they are a disaster as a company and you should look elsewhere for books.
Yes, I do. I have been charged over 500 because my books where late. I have never dealt with a company that does this. Most of the time they charge you a late fee which is the price of a 30 day rental. Yes, I should of extended my rental, but to charge that much is ridiculous. They completely drained my bank account and to top it all off they books are setting in their warehouse.
I rented a book from them, got charged the full book amount for being late 7 days.
From the total book amount they charged on my credit card, they process a refund, keeping $ 86 usd for being late for 7 days... (they did not consider the holidays). Worst experience ever... I do not recommend this place for book rental. They have no business ethics and this is a whole RIP OFF... I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM LESS THAN ONE STAR
If I could rate them less than the one star, I would. Like many others who have written scathing reviews, I am one more dissatisfied customer. Their business ethics are lacking and their policy is nothing short of a bait and switch scam. They will rent you books but charge you full textbook prices for being late with your return. Barnes & Noble will charge you a late fee similar to their rental fee; Knetbooks will charge you for books you do not have possession of and will never have possession of. They basically charge you full price for books that you don't own; at least if you purchase through your school's bookstore, you can sell it back. This is such a questionable and dishonest policy that I am looking into a way to file a complaint with the a federal agency since they are conducting business across state lines and taking money while neither providing a product nor a service in return. These fines are more ridiculous than credit card fines. Please take your business elsewhere, I am posting messages on all student bulletin boards at every community college and university near me about avoiding this company.
Today was the worst day of my life... here i am at the grocery store with my child in line to check out. I go to pay the bill and my card gets declined. HOW embarrassing, and left me confused since i knew there was enough (considering tomorrow my rent is due). I quick check my bank account and don't see where my money went (knet books wiped out my entire checking account, and dipped into most of my savings, also causing me to have an overdraft fee *thanks guys just kick me while i'm down*) I run to the bank freaking out thinking someone had gotten a hold of my banking information... NOPE i was informed that knetbooks took over 500$ from me (not even sure of exact amount i was in shock and lost my train of thought while lady was telling me). I check my email, how nice of them they sent a email notifying me TODAY that my books are late. I made sure that knetbooks emails get sent to my inbox and not spam account BECAUSE THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME! I never got a email reminding me that the books were due (which they kept talking about last time this happened telling me make sure that their emails do not go to my spam account), i did chat with a gentleman earlier after this all happened and he managed to get me a 75% refund. But this will not be enough to cover my rent and groceries,. I called my landlord crying my eyes out and managed to get me some time to try and get all of the money needed to pay the rent and not get kicked out. So few hours later I finally feel a little better. Than the customer service finally called me back (like 4 hours later). And all this lady kept telling me that it is my responsibility to remember the date i picked to send my books i rent many months ago. Heck at least the gentleman I chatted with earlier had some compassion. Overall this company is horrible rip off. ONLY reason I went back to this with this last rental was because the last time this happened to me they wouldn't even give my money back only a credit of 50% of the total cost they charged me which was around 400-500. NEVER EVER AGAIN will come back.
I rented a book for $42 dollars after it was late with no reminders from them, they charged me $172. They offer to give you 50% back of the $172 if you returned it. I looked on other websites to buy it prices range from $85 to $100. I could have bought two books with this websites rental and late fee charge and the number they have online is disconnected.
If your books are late they will charge you full price for them. They added $171.81 to my account for being late. Then I called to find out why. They were only going to refund me half the price. My lessoned learned: DONT RENT FROM THE BOOK COMPANY... They fall under many company's like knetbook!
Answer: Infinity, because you will never receive it. And if you do receive it, it comes damaged and then when you try to return your rental that try saying the original damage is your fault and charge you a ridiculous price for a small damage that had already come with it. Or sometimes several pages are missing.
Answer: Hi Tatum, We do allow some highlighting in our rentals but we ask that you dont highlight excessively. If you return the rental back to us with over one-third of the text highlighted, we may have to mark the book as damaged. Highlighting can be distracting for future renters and we may not be able to add an overly-highlighted book back into our inventory. Consider using page flags to mark an important sentence. Flags can help you easily get back to the page you need. Page flags are also small enough that they can be used multiple times on the same page. Plus, they are really easy to remove from the textbook before you send it back at the end of the semester. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
