Scam/fraud company
December 21, 2015

Never emailed me my conformation or tracking number. Never got the textbook yet claim I have it. I rent all my textbooks with no problem. However, this company is a scam. I did a chat conversation with a lady named Sarah, she was an incompetent person who ended the chat suddenly. I then opened another chat hoping to resolve this problem because clearly Sarah was of no help. So then I spoke with a man named Anothy who also left the chat after I said that there are ways people can send false tracking numbers and make it look like something shipped when in reality nothing did. Also, said that if UPS said I never got anything what would I need to do and he wasn't able to answer and I asked him like 3 times. Again, this is a scam of a company. DO NOT bother with them. Use other websites, so far this is the only website that I have had a problem with.

Will Keep My Rental
September 23, 2015

I recently purchased or rented a book from these scumbags. I printed each and every email confirmation, invoice and tracking status. Not only did I pay an extra $26 for overnight delivery "which took 4 days to arrive". But my computer book, which had several old and new and worst of all! DIFFERENT ISBN numbers taped over each other contained the the lab access code that was for a different course. Needless to say that I had to purchase a new code at double the cost of what these lying, thieving, fraudulent C)(K3uckers stole from me. So all you starving students out there that are looking to save a buck on textbooks? The # 1 website and scam to avoid is KNETBOOKS.com. And if any one could pass along the owners information I would be ever so greatful. Nothing like meeting the perp in person. Now that would be fun.

Horrible
September 4, 2015

I ordered a book eight days ago for college. I found this site was the cheapest among others even if you did pay for over night or two day shipping. So I payed two day shipping thinking that I got away with a dream deal. EIGHT days later i still do not have my book. I called the company this morning and they would only refund half of my two day shipping fee. They forget to mention in their website that they are a third party who gets their books from who knows where, and they are only liable to withhold the faster shipping once they receive the book from the third party. Meaning it could take them 5-8 business days before they even receive the book themselves. Needless to say, go with amazon or chegg. I will never use this website again.

Never again!
August 10, 2015

If you return them a week late they will charge you more than what you rent them for. This website is a scam and it cheats you out of your money. This is the first and last time I order from this website.

Late Return Feedback
August 4, 2015

I am a week late on returning my rental. I totally forgot and noticed this after my account was charged $200. I called the number listed on my bank statement and spoke with customer service about receiving a refund if I return the book asap. They said they would only refund 50% and to me that is still too much money for me, being a college student without employment. I pleaded with the representative letting him know I did not see any reminders but that didn't change anything. It wasn't until I asked to speak with a supervisor to discuss if there was anyway to get a full refund that things changed. The representative put me on hold for 10 secs and was like we can do 75%. I felt like it was a scam but at least its better than 50%. I wonder if I actually spoke with a supervisor if I could have gotten a full refund. Lesson learned, return your rental on time and if you are late ask to speak to someone willing to help you to get better results. Hope this help someone!

I have 5 kids. Three are in college now... one graduate... and one high school student in a private school. You can imagine our textbook costs every semester. We ALWAYS purchase or rent our books online. I have been charged $133 by Knetbooks for two books after failing to return two books on time. It appears my daughter (rising Junior) left for summer camp in June WITHOUT returning her books. Grrr... I have the books. I found them in her room. So I emailed Knetbooks asking under what conditions they will allow me to return them. Their response was "no returns" and "try to sell them". A total lack of consideration and customer service. On the other hand, BookByte had AMAZING customer service (same situation with the same daughter who left for summer camp without returning her books). Below is their prompt and courteous response. Can you guess where our family will be purchasing and renting in the fall? BookByte's financial recovery, because of their response, will be far greater than the loss of business for Knetbooks. It is sad that Knetbooks made the decision to save a few pennies. We all know that it cost much more to recruit a new customer than it cost to retain an existing customer. Oh, here is BookByte's email. Maybe Knetbook will review their policy in the future in order to compete with other companies.

Returned two books. The rental was 14 days late (I admit that). Was charged 100% MSRP (full price of NEW book) for used books. When they received the books, I was only refunded 50% of that outrageous charge.

When I finally spoke to a human in customer service, she was rude, argumentative, and frankly unapologetic.

My son has about 6 more years of undergrad and graduate studies. All of those future rentals will be from other companies. I am making it a point to express my dissatisfaction at every possible site on the web.

SCAM ARTIST
February 22, 2015

THESE PEOPLE ARE TRUE SCAM ARTIST. THEY SCAM COLLEGE STUDENTS OUT OF THEIR MONEY AND DON'T DELIVER. THEY CHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT. THEN WHEN YOU TRY TO RETURN ITEMS THEY SAY THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN RETURN BOOKS IF YOU HAVE A RETURN LABEL FROM THEM. THEN THEY PRETEND THEY HAVENT GOTTEN THE BOOKS BACK. THEN THEY WANT TO CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOUR CARD UNTIL YOU REPORT YOUR CARD LOST OR STOLEN. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY.

I want to advise everyone to contact the better business bureau. PLEASE,
This company scams college kids and their parents out of a lot of money.
Short term bull, charging cards without permission for full price. Never contacting via emails about due dates. They are a scam.

They deserve zero stars
February 13, 2015

They deserve zero stars. I payed for a book and never received it. They wouldn't do anything about it at all. Said that it was USPS's fault. They have the worst shipping; UPS then to USPS? Online scam. I highly recommend Chegg for rental books. I doubt that anyone stole my book after delivery; I live in a quiet suburb area. They probably have someone that tracks the packages in each city then steals them. What kind of people steal from college students? They won't last long. The low cost isn't worth it stay away. These cases are rare and they should have just paid for it!

Worst company I've ever dealt with. After returning the wrong book, they charged me the full price 5 days later then gave me 3 day's to claim my book. I was unaware of the short term claim policy so they now own my book and I cannot get me material back along with a 290$ charge for the old book. Horrible customer service, took 3 calls to find this out and 3 weeks. Never use this company!

This "company" is a huge SCAM! DO NOT rent anything from them! I rented a book and knew I wasn't going to be able to return it to them on time. I called and was told there were no options (even though people were offered extensions, I was NEVER offered one!) I sent the book back and they claimed they never received it so they charged my account. I called my bank and disputed the charges. The bank refunded my money but made contact with Knetbooks. Knetbook is now stating my book is "damaged" First they didn't have it and now it's damaged?! Obviously a HUGE scam to STEAL money from college students struggling to survive anways. My bank is now siding with them and taking my money back out. I will NEVER ever rent/buy from them again and I will surely make sure no one else does! On top of that, the book is $30 on Amazon but they're claiming it's worth $145. I can't stress this enough: please save yourself the hassle (5 months later and I'm still dealing with this) and money and go somewhere else!

This company is part of a network of online scams! This company operates under 5 different names and rents books it does not have - meaning that you are unlikely to receive your books when you need them.
