Found both books needed for classes with no problem. Chose the rental option, glad to see there is an opportunity to purchase at the end of the rental period. I signed up for text notifications which sent me a tracking number for my package a day after I submitted the order. Books came in within the week. I will say though I was expecting to get the tracking number via email too so that was a little weird. But both books came in great condition and the packaging can be reused for the return.
I placed an order for a book around the time my program was starting, I entered correct payment and shipping information for it, Knetbooks confirmed my order and charged my card (the correct amount was taken out of my account), and Knetbooks cancelled my order without warning two days later claiming something was "inconsistent" with my payment information. I reached out several times for clarification on the issue and to offer more information if necessary, and never got a response. Now I am stranded without the book and have missed 2 weeks of school content because of this issue. Thanks for nothing!
I ordered a book from this site. Originally said it would be here Jan 18. Now its not coming until March 2. I need the book for a class which will be over by the time I get it. The customer service would not let me cancel. They said I could send the book back once I get it. If I do!
The process was quick and easy! The book came on time even though I was worried it wasn't going to when I checked the update on the website.
This has been a great experience as I was able to rent the book that I need.
I ordered three books from Knetbooks... several days after the scheduled delivery date, I have not received any of them. I asked to cancel the order but they said since the books were shipped I can't cancel... but I can return the books for a refund. This is somewhat difficult to do since I never got the books in the first place.
One book took 10 days to arrive after ordering. The second book in the order was never shipped so I canceled that part of the order.
KNetbooks website was very user friendly. I ordered my book & received it in last than a week. The book was used but came excellent condition. KNetbooks kept me abreast on the shipment. I would highly recommend this company.
The book did not arrive at all. After contacting consumer support, my problem was not resolved.
Fast delivery. Not a lot of plastic or other wasteful packaging.
Status: Order Processing. No updates no book I would not recommend this web site.
They promised a five-day delivery, and I received my purchase after almost 2 weeks.
Received the book in bad condition (I should have taken pictures when I received it). When I returned it they said it was damaged and I had to pay for it. My daughter never put the book in her backpack, it stayed at home and I know there was not any additional damage done before I returned it. They would not give me a price of how much I would be charged but in my account it had the option to buy it for $200. I had a niece that took the same class as my daughter and she hadn't sold her book yet. It has the same IBSN number and is in excellent condition (way better than the one I received). I wanted to purchase her used book to send back for a replacement book instead of paying the $200 to purchase damaged book. They would not accept the replacement book because according to customer service "the authenticity of the book is very important to them". Is this their business practice? Send damaged books out and charge full price for receiving it back in the same poor condition it was sent in? Why would they not accept a replacement book that is the exact same book in better condition than the one I received? Had they accepted my replacement book I may have considered renting from them again (but would definitely take pictures of the book when I received it). I will never rent from them again and would not recommend them to anyone!
Was told I couldn't cancel my order even though I reached out to them before my order shipped both through their instant messaging service and their email but wasn't replied to until after it had shipped. They then refused to cancel my order and when my book finally arrived it was dirty and greasy and definitely not worth the $5 I spent to rent it. When I finally got access to my return label, I found out that there is a 10% "restocking" fee tacked on AND I have to pay for return shipping. They refuse to help when they mess up and it's not worth the headache to get books from them. RENTER BEWARE
Book did not arrive, but this was refunded. Concerns about the condition of returned books were resolved.
DO NOT USE KNETBOOKS. I followed all the instructions and returned my textbook before the deadline. UPS seems to have lost the textbook. I got in contact with UPS to submit a claim and they said that I cannot submit a claim - only Knetbooks can as the seller. Apparently this is a restriction that Knetbooks has placed on the return through UPS.
I tried to get in touch with Knetbooks through the contact form on their website (there is no number you can call) and they never responded. Instead, they went ahead and charged me the full "list" price for the book, plus I paid the initial fee to rent the book, so I'm now out $400+ and I don't even have the textbook anymore to resell. I've submitted another request to get in contact with them today.
TLDR: no response from customer support team, but they went ahead and charged me 300 for a book I already returned. I will never use Knetbooks again.
I ordered these and have been charged but nothing arrived.
Cancelled my order because they said their system said my payment information was suspicious. It's the payment I use all the time so there was nothing suspicious. They cancelled it right away but still took my money so now they are holding up $150 of my money that I need to actually purchase a book. This company seems shady. No live chat, no phone number to call. You just have to sit and wait for them to return an email while they hold onto your money. I will never order from here again. I better get my money back.
Answer: Infinity, because you will never receive it. And if you do receive it, it comes damaged and then when you try to return your rental that try saying the original damage is your fault and charge you a ridiculous price for a small damage that had already come with it. Or sometimes several pages are missing.
Answer: Hi Tatum, We do allow some highlighting in our rentals but we ask that you dont highlight excessively. If you return the rental back to us with over one-third of the text highlighted, we may have to mark the book as damaged. Highlighting can be distracting for future renters and we may not be able to add an overly-highlighted book back into our inventory. Consider using page flags to mark an important sentence. Flags can help you easily get back to the page you need. Page flags are also small enough that they can be used multiple times on the same page. Plus, they are really easy to remove from the textbook before you send it back at the end of the semester. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
