I booked 3 tickets from San Diego to Vegas on 5/12 on Allegiant Airlines and accidentally booked through this company, KIWI.com, on Kayak. The airline canceled all flights out of SD that evening and we were left stranded at the airport with no other flights going out that night (that's another story). Long story short KIWI.com, 3 months later, are still stating that they have not received a refund from Allegiant. Our money was refunded from the airline on the same night that our flight was canceled. This is a sham company who are just ripping people off.
For many years, now I have been using kayak.com to book many of my flights. I need to book a flight back to Europe for a family occasion. Flights during the month of August are very expensive and I was foolish in being lured into what seem to be a lower fare. Once I went to check out it directed me to keewee.com. I didn't think before I thought. I should have done my due diligence and read the reviews on them prior to purchasing.
The first red flag was after purchasing the fair to Europe, we had to pick seats. I have experienced that with lower cost carriers where you have to pay for seats so, that wasn't a huge thing. What was the huge thing was that two days later, I was reimbursed for one of the seats for the leg and one of the flights. They said there was no seat. I called them and they said that seat was no longer available despite my purchase. Then, I called the airline directly, and they said I was only waitlisted on the flight and it wasn't guaranteed. Given the fact that I had less than a week to book a viable ticket, this was not acceptable and causing on due stress. I calledkeewee.com telling them that I needed to be refunded, because nothing was set and I was put in a precarious position. They refused. I told them that they could comply and do what they needed to and also to please have the supervisor get back to me which they never did. I also informed them that I would be dealing with my bank directly and would seek legal counsel if need be. These companies are unscrupulous and they don't really care whose money they steal. These companies are unscrupulous and they don't really care who's money they steal. I ended up booking elsewhere for the sanity of having a flight. I think my perseverance with my bank, as well as having them go after Keewee ended up in my favor. But never again!
Cost me an extra 135 on my trip. Never again. Wasn't even able to phone them. They didn't recognise my booking number so just cut me
Off. Left in Belgium to get tickets from Ryanair and had to pay extra for the privilege. Shocking and disgusting way to treat people who were going for a nice weekend away
They new i was about to miss a flight and pushed me to buy last flight of the day to avoid staying in a foreign country over night
Kiwi really let me down. For some reason, they booked my flight as two separate tickets instead of one although sending me one reservation. I therefore didn't realize I needed a visa for India as it is not needed for transit. When I was denied boarding and I called to have the ticket issued as a single ticket, there was nothing that kiwi would do. Same inhumane script and no suggested solutions at all. They wouldn't even let me speak to a supervisor. Still, there is nothing they will do after I missed this expensive flight. Don't do it. It's not worth the risk. One small thing goes wrong and you are flushing your money down the drain. Book directly with the airline
I m not happy with kiwi customer service. They keep telling to wait and it has been more then 7 months they haven't refund my money which my plain got canceled due to weather.
I booked a flight, paid for in, then had I rescheduled it. They charged me an additional amount to cover the new flight. I paid it and got a confirmation on the new flight. A week before I was scheduled to leave, they sent me an email stating I need to pay more in order to secure my flight. It turns out, they never booked it! The said the price went up so I couldn't and I needed to pay more or I wouldn't have a flight. Please, do not book with them. Go directly through the site.
I am not sure how a company still working when they have scammed that many people!
I paid for a ticket a month ago and today when my niece was at the airline counter they told us that they did not receive the payment for Kiwi so we ended up paying double with another company because as you can imagine the airlines take advantage of our needs.
I am not sure who regulates companies that sell airline tickets but for sure Kiwi needs to be out of business as soon as possible.
In 2019 after being unable to book Christmas flights with our usual airline I looked on Sky Scanner and was directed to Kiwi.com. On the 7th November 2019 I booked flights to Boston USA in the evening and in the morning when I checked the E tickets my middle name was listed as my husbands middle name, so were unusable. I immediately contacted Kiwi.com expecting them to make the change, but the only answers I could get from them were "My team are working on it" and one operator on their site said "They haven´t done that again?" Eventually they said it would cost an extra 10 Euros to change, and a couple of days later they demanded 90 Euros, giving me just 24 hrs. To pay. The flights had already cost nearly two thousand pounds. I was with an elderly friend in hospital and so when I got to see the demand the 24 hrs had passed, so I contacted my credit card Barclaycard and they rode in like "super heroes" saying they would make a chargeback and stop my credit card. This is where things get a little suspicious. For 5 weeks I heard nothing and Barclaycard supplied me with a new credit card. As there was only 2 weeks left till Christmas and Barclays didn´t appear to have solved things I asked that as they were making a chargeback if I was safe to book new flights. They agreed that it was OK so I went ahead and booked with Lufthansa. Leaving Barclaycard to make a chargeback. (Which incidentally never happened). But that´s another story. The fact is that because Kiwi.com scammed me they left me with a debt of over 2,000 pounds and my credit rating destroyed. I am still fighting for my rights till this day. PS. Don´t trust your credit card to protect you from these scammers.
Kiwi will charge for mistakes completely outside of your control, they do no offer refund. Not even the airline will charge but Kiwi will, and then say theirs is nothing they can do. THIEVES
I bought a ticket for my girlfriend to travel internationally. The airline apparently couldn't find her booking on a connecting flight half way through her trip. I tried to contact kiwi on there phone number but was greeted by a machine asking for booking number and her dob. I entered different combinations of her dob and my dob DDMMYY, MMDDYY etc., but the machine just says it doesn't match the booking and hangs up. There is no other way to contact them quickly other than this number. This is while my partner is at the airport and possibly about to miss her flight. It was the airlines fault and they finally rectified the issue, and let my partner board the plane luckily. I still haven't heard from kiwi, despite leaving a written message and calling that stupid number many times.
Update: turns out I needed to put in DDMMYYYY format, despite their instructions. All I have from Kiwi now is a bunch of support messages explaining why the problem is our fault, and that they can't issue a refund even though I never mentioned a refund and just wanted to get her on the plane they apparently booked for her... But it's ok we did there job for them and got the airline to let her board the plane after an hour of arguing with them, and them saying there was no checked baggage with this ticket etc.
Used them before with no issue, but if something goes wrong you're on your own. If you'd like someone to explain why something is your fault, if it's either your fault or not, instead of trying to help, this is the company for you! Thanks for nothing Kiwi.com
I'll try to add some pictures of the support messages a little later.
WARNING TO EVERYONE - SCAM CONDITIONS AND NO HELP!
Don't ever book through them! Pay the extra money for The official sites of Ryanair, Norwegian, etc.! Its a scam!
We are now stranded in Prague because of a delay on our connecting flight. Me and my pregnant girlfriend were told, we would be given alternative routes to our destinations and accommodations.
Now we are sitting in Prague airport, with an alternative direct route in 2 days or another connecting flight through Helsinki in 16 hours.
We were in constant contact as we had an important doctor's appointment the next day in relation to the baby, which we missed.
As we then needed a hotel for the night after landing at 18:00 o'clock (the next flight offered was 16:00 the next day), They (1) wanted us to pay extra for the new route and (2) hotel, even though we had been in contact with Them throughout the day!
They offered to pay 160 pounds of the total of 360 pounds for the new connecting flight, and not The hotel, food or hotel. Stranding us in prague airport
We canceled our booking after 4 hours on the phone and booked a new direct flight the carrier, which was available not spending another cent with their ridicoulous customer service. Thanks for ruining our last days of vacation and giving us an extra bill of 100s of pounds. Will never book through them again, and neither should you! WARNING TO EVERYONE: SCAM CONDITIONS AND NO HELP WHEN NEEDED THE MOST
Absolute stinker of a company.
Trading on short notice flights with zero flexibility.
I was looking for an emergency flight from Stanstead to Shannon after missing a flight in Stanstead. I searched up other flights available and kiwi had one showing. I went to their website chose direct flights that would get me in that night. A quick search later and up popped one showing it was leaving at 10pm and arriving at 11.30pm, all sounded good. So I booked it.Only to find it was not a direct flight but that it was a flight from Stanstead that night to Edinburgh then a 23 hour stopover before I flew to Shannon the next day!
I immediately called them and tried to explain that they had not provided what I asked for and could I cancel the ticket (I was prepared to pay a small fee of course) I was told in no uncertain terms that they would not cancel or refund the sale as it was outside of the 48 hour cancellation policy, I explained that the flight they had sold me was less than 3 hours away to no avail. I even tried to convince them that I must have some
Sort of cool down period ( I called them 5 or 6 minutes after the sale) or consumer rights protection. I was met with indignation and stubborn refusal.
Do yourself a favour, never ever use these guys, customer service is hidden away and the call centre operatives are script following robots that have no clue.
Pursuing a claim against them via my bank.
I have purchased 7 flight tickets for my relatives traveling back to the Ukraine.
Today, I received a notification from kiwi.com stating that one of the transit flights from Tbilisi to Chişinău (FlyOne 5F-582) has been cancelled by the carrier.
Given this information, I had no option but to request a refund for a full trip for 7 people. However, when I reached out to the airline (FlyOne) directly, they confirmed that the flight is not cancelled and will proceed as planned.
I am now seeking clarification from kiwi.com regarding why they sent me a wrong notification. The support team appears to be promptly handling the refund request, but there have been delays in responding to my messages.
This is clearly done intentionally, forcing customers to make a refund and get nothing in return, at the same time making the same ticket available in the system to sell more expensive price.
Considering that these individuals are already affected by the war in Ukraine and have limited options, it would be greatly appreciated if they were provided with support instead of being subjected to such a situation.
Now when I check the same ticket in their system, they sell it twice price now and it is also confirmed by airline that flights will be operated, what was the problem then, nothing, it is just kiwi faking the notifications to let the customers request refund, so they return no money back and selling the same ticket two times more expensive to the other victims. This is scam
Their customer service is an absolute disgrace - a shambles of dishonesty and outright deceit! I can assure you, I will NEVER do booking with them again! It seems they're more interested in hoodwinking customers and pocketing your hard-earned money than in delivering a fair, honest service! Beware - transact with them at your own peril! They've shown their true colors to me, and I won't stand for it!
I mistakenly clicked the refund button and the system informed me that this action is irreversible; the refund has been processed and no further reimbursement can be claimed. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, ranking among the most challenging I've faced. In an effort to prevent fellow Koreans from encountering similar issues, I plan to pen a comprehensive article shedding light on the situation.
I booked flights to Malta and back with Kiwi. Wizz airline
The return flight was delayed by more than 45 hours. I canceled the order and was promised a refund within 3 months.
Nothing happened and only excuses.
Avoid this company. Any flight change can cost you a lot of money!
I planed my trip from MCO to AMS at August, this agent over the price for two passengers is $1752.99.
I locked in the price and payed a down payment of $175.24( balance $1577.30). I received a price confirmation. When I went to finish my booking, they change the price as well as they wanted to charge for a carry on bag for $157 each. Not to mention check in was being charged at $357 and change for the seat insurance?
When I called the airline costumer service, the rep said you have one check in bag and one carry on for free. This company can't be trusted and they didn't have any contact in the country and they are located outside USA.
They offered me a flight that it was not possible to take. I warned them, they refunded me 10€ out of 800€.
Their business model is to then be reimbursed much more by the airlines.
I would give 0 stars if I could this company is a SCAM. Do not use! I did a fare lock to save flights and when I went to pay the full amount within 72 hours the flights had sold out and the company are refusing to refund me the fare lock price despite the T&C saying they would if the flights sold out. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ITS A SCAM
Their website kept crashing and the Customer Service Team was evidently unaware of Airport layout management and time. Not a good experience. I will never book with Kiwi again.
Answer: I have reserved 7 flight through Kiwi with Spirit Airlines. Within 24 h I realised that I made a mistake on the flight date. I made a change and saw that Kiwi wanted to charge for both flights. When I told them I thought I could be reimbursed, they told me to go through the refund process on their website. I did. Just to make sure, I called Spirit and explained the issue. They said that they would fully reimburse Kiwi because the change was make within 24 h and it was an american law. Today, I received the answer for my refund request and Kiwi said they could not get reimbursement from the airline and I would have to pay double. When I tried to reach them to tell them there had to be another way, all of their contact information on their website was 'temporarily unavailable'. I feel like they have stolen from me.
Answer: I am sorry you are going through this, I checked but can't seem to find a record of it either
Answer: Kiwi makes money from air flight cancellations and mistakes they make because They will refund nothing! I even bought add on insurance. That doesn't prevent them from dismissing it will all sorts of unreasonable misdirection. They have no right to operate and be so big... at the expense of poor unfortunate customers who spend their hard earned money to travel. The give the aviation industry a really bad name.
Answer: There is no doubt that Kiwi.com is a scam. If you want to get your money back, then email the US Department of Transportation (douglas dot e dot davis at dot.gov) and CC the CEO of Kiwi.com (oliver dot dlouhy at kiwi.com), the Vice-President of Customer Services (Petra dot Reiter at kiwi.com), and the head of customer servcies for the EU (anna dot cavazzini at europarl.europa.eu) Good luck and do not use them again.
Answer: Because people don't know and they offer cheap flights.
Answer: Kiwi.com are crooks and charlatans. Avoid them. Dispute the charges with your bank if you can, and then spend 30 minutes online piling bad reviews till they are out of business.
Answer: Booking service... and a bad one on the market. Outrageous and not responsable to their customers
Answer: Yes call them threat them that you will sue them and also tell your credit card company that they made a mistake and are not owning to it. Get screenshots of everything including your calls to kiwi. Ask them for a voucher and on other hand contact your credit card to file a dispute.
