The overall reputation of KitchenAid is significantly marred by consistent customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding product reliability and customer service. Many customers report frequent appliance failures shortly after purchase, with inadequate support during warranty claims and repair processes. Service delays, unhelpful responses, and difficulties in returns are common complaints. While some customers appreciate the aesthetic appeal of the products, the overwhelming sentiment is one of frustration and disappointment, leading to a strong recommendation against purchasing KitchenAid appliances. The company’s customer service approach appears to lack responsiveness and effectiveness, contributing to a negative overall experience.

When it comes to customer service if you are looking for action with KitchenAid you are not going to get it! I have been waiting for a refund now for two weeks! It all started with they do not do exchanges for color of mixers! What? So, I ended up having to purchase another and of course not at the sale price I received when I purchased three yes three mixers. I had to pay a higher price just to get a different color. Then they submitted a request for the return of the other mixer. This was on a Friday I didn't get the shipping label until Monday I went straight to the store and shipped it back. They received the mixer 1/7 and yes, I still do not have my refund! I have called three times once the first week 1/9, then 1/14 and then today 1/22. Still not checked in the mixer. I am very disappointed in this vendor I will not be purchasing direct from KitchenAid in the future and if I were you I wouldn't either. They say they will process and refund you within 7-10 days that is not accurate at all. They mean from the time they check in the product. I was told last week they were working on 1/6 today I was told they were working on 1/5 so not getting a straight answer. Very unfortunate our family has been a KitchenAid family for years, but I will never purchase from the vendor again!
KitchenAid coffee maker model ******* b. Two heat settings both are too high with less than 2 cups of coffee in the pot it will burn your coffee and stay in your pot. The unit leaks when trying to resupply water and coffee. And sometimes it quits percolating and just gurgles. Call KitchenAid three times they want to do nothing they are not responsible for their own products.
We have a 10-year-old Kitchenaid dishwasher and have had no problems. We purchased a new one and it must have defective parts as it began rusting out beginning in the first year and continues. Do not buy KitchenAid. They offered us 15% off a new dishwasher. Are they joking?
I ordered a stand mixer that was on sale on Kitchenaid website. After waiting for weeks i come to find out they canceled my order because they claim "... my billing address wasn't correct - it was missing apt #". I run all my business and personal charges through for forty years and never had a problem. I then gave them the info and they said i "couldn't correct my address" and that i was a "credit risk".
After filing the BBB complaint, I called and tried a third time to get them to honor the order. After Customer Service tried to reinitiate the order and said I was again declined, I asked to be passed to her superior. I was told by the superior that, '…my card was declined because I was a "flagged as a credit risk" and the charge was declined by my bank…' I called Chase and they said there was absolutely no such charge attempted nor any charge declined – Kitchenaid clearly was lying. To add insult to injury the superior said "I could not ever do business with Kitchen Aid and to take my business elsewhere.". Like seriously? I have a near perfect credit score – I run large business charges from time to time but I pay in full on time every month for over forty years.
That said, I think they are being deceptive because of the huge discount offered they are trying to weasel out of the order with bogus claims. I've filed claims with BBB and the FCC.
Would give zero stars if possible Would give zero stars if possible. Not actually Kitchenaid but rather run by an unscrupulous company called repair parts. Impossible to contact via email (17 emails with no response, chat did not work and it took an hur and a half to get someone on the phone. NEVER buy your OeM Kitchenaid parts from this unresponsive crooked company
Ordered and paid 5 weeks ago. Phone call to customer service cost $150.9 emails including 4 to CEO, all ignored. The worst online purchase ever. Really upsetting and time consuming. Reading all the reviews Whirlpool should sack the board, as they treat customers with contempt.
We put in our stove on 10/8/24 two weeks before thanksgiving the upper oven quit working I called the warranty number was told give them 8 days to find repairman they back to say none in our area. Find one and pay for it up to $200 and they will reimburse me. It cost $100 for diagnosing the problem. I paid it and told them I wouldn't pay for the repairs as it is $500. It is 12/23/24 I still don't have the problem fixed I called and begged for this to be resolved before Christmas they were going to deliver a new stove 12/24/24 then I get a new email they will deliver the replacement 1/7/25. Not impressed that I have not had this resolved and it took 6 weeks to get reimbursed for the repairs I paid for on an appliance less than 3 months old.
Can't use a virtually pristine oven that had the control board fail with error F1E1 which is a software checksum error. They want me to schedule a technician and have me pay for that and a replacement. The glass top of this appliance is easily scratched; we have determined this $1,400 oven will not be repaired, as overall the quality of KitchenAid and their support service is poor.
Self clean option has never been used and oven is in excellent shape as it remained unused through the warranty period.
Please save your $$ don't waste it on any new kitchen aid products. Worst customer service, every appliance since 2020 has broken at 2 year mark… warranty is only 1 year. Repairs cost $700 or more!
They offer you a 20% discount on purchasing a new product. Like someone would want any of their products after this experience.
5 appliances since 2020 all but 1 needed repairs within 2–3 years. Not wear and tear issues. Water lines being misaligned, chips malfunctioning etc.
One of the worst products I have ever bought. I called to have it serviced, paid a 100.00 fee to have a service technician come and service my stove. I complained the temperature of both ovens was off about 25 degrees, which it still is. He tested and said thermostat was bad. I owned the oven for about one year. Bought a new thermostat and still the oven is temperature is incorrect. 25 degrees. They never followed up and I will not purchase this product again. I do not want to babysit my oven it pretty much sucks.
Unable to use microwave since September 2023 because repair part not available. Kitchen aid parts.com not able to tell me when the part will be available.
I bought a mini kitchenaid. Did not even open it since my daughter had the artisan model and the bow kept throwing around. It took 2 men holding it down and we still couldn't whip the dough. I returned mine in the original box unopened. It took them over a week to email me a label. I took it to FedEx, called 10 days later since I still don't have the refund. The rep acknowledged it's been received, FedEx tracking said it was delivered. I had to dispute my charge with my credit card. Return date 1/13/24. Today is 2/6/24, almost a month later. I've never dealt with such slow and poor service from any retailers. So disappointing with all the work that goes into returning to Kitchenaid.
I purchased an item which I've been trying to return since 12/26/23. They received the return on 1/11/24. As of today 2/5/24 they have not processed the return. Their phone customer service I dismal at best. Do not buy directly from this company as they have a subpar operations system in place for commerce.
We have a 2 yr old KitchenAid 20.9 Cu. Ft. 36" Width Built-In Stainless Bottom Mount Refrigerator ($8k). Several of the interior lights went out. After fixing the lights (out of warranty) they went out 30 days later. Don't think a simple thing like interior LED lights should expire within 24 months and then again in 30 days. Would not recommend.
KitchenAid appliances look nice, but...a few years ago, I upgraded my kitchen, including all new KitchenAid appliances (at the suggestion of our designer who, I think, was impressed with their looks). Some I insured with an extra warranty, others (the microwave and dishwasher) I was told "don't break", so not to wast money on the added insurance. WRONG - and a nightmare.
Multiple service calls on our oven, including being told by the repairmen to not use the broiler on the top oven and to never use the self-cleaning control as the oven could not handle the heat. So many calls on the refrigerator, that they actually replaced it. Two very expensive calls on the dishwasher, and now the microwave just died.
There has to be a better alternative!
At me to long list that think KitchenAid is a piece of junk! Our last dishwasher lasted 20+ years, we got a new dishwasher to go with a new refrigerator and stove. 14 months later, 2 months past the 1 year warranty, we're facing a $110 house call not including any labor or parts to fix it. BUYERS REMORSE and from what I read and from my own experience, a company that doesn't care or support their products or are worried about repeat customers.
KitchenAid stand mixers can require repair and replacement of ubrication greese. This is a factory/warrenty repair if you are in the US but Canadians are on their own to find a service center to do the job; something I have not been able to do after much searching.
Ordered item with expected delivery date. To only have label created on that data. Item out for delivery four times.purchase item anywhere else this site is a joke
Worst refrigerator. Stay away from this brand. Catastrophic defect within a year, months to complete and will not exchange.
Recently purchased a 6 qt bowl from Kitchenaid / Whirlpool, but unfortunately, I received a 5 qt bowl in the box. I immediately contacted their customer service via email, explaining the situation. To my surprise, I was directed to the warranty department, even though this was clearly a packaging error on their end.
The warranty department responded, instructing me to call for further assistance. After spending time on the phone, I found the experience frustrating and unhelpful. All the information I provided in my initial email seemed to be disregarded.
This kind of service is unacceptable. A packaging mistake should be a straightforward issue to resolve, but the runaround and lack of clear communication have left me extremely dissatisfied.
I had high hopes for a quick resolution, but unfortunately, my experience with Kitchenaid / Whirlpool has been far from satisfactory. I cannot recommend them based on this frustrating incident.
