Words cannot begin to describe our hellish experience with KEL. They had us entwined in so many little litigations, our short sale was certain to end in foreclosure.
Our bank, title company, lender and even the VA were aware of the little to no ethics of KEL. They even forged our signature! If you MUST have an attorney, be involved in every detail! Most of the time you do not NEED an attorney; especially for short sales.
Please help get the word out in hopes of saving any other families from this savage company.

I hired this law firm for a matter which was urgent due to an upcoming hearing. I paid attorney fees, court cost, expeditiously. I was given conflicting information by non attorneys, and never received any follow up once they collected my money. A few days after hiring them it became obvious that they were not going to file my case motion in time for the hearing. I was forced to cancel their service, and immediately hired another law firm which filed an emergency petition within twenty five minutes after meeting the attorney. The icing on the cake was the next day after cancelling their services, I received an email from an unnamed source, with no title supposedly from their bankruptcy department, informing me that no money was going to be refunded. This is very unprofessional for an organization that was paid for representation just a few days prior, not to even have the respect to identifying with whom was sending the correspondence, while telling a customer that they were keeping their hard earned funds.

KEL has collected nearly two thousand dollars in court cost and fees, and has not provided an ounce of work in which they were hired. I will be filing a complaint with the attorney general, Florida Bar, BBB, and last but not least a civil lawsuit. Please do yourself a favor and don't ignore the negative reviews on BBB, Google, Yelp, Lawyers.com, AVVO, Yahoo, Sitejabber.com, Yahoo etc, an educated consumer is a wise consumer.

Listen to real clients, not the multitude of paid commercials in which this company airs regularly. The business seems to be set up to engage as many customers as possible to collect attorneys fees, without the slightest bit of customer service given to their clients.

Terrible firm
May 28, 2015

This firm charged me thousands of dollars and said the case would be over in months. Instead, they wasted my money on phone calls and emails to me and the opposing attorney with "updates on the case". However these updates stated nothing for progression

UNRESPONSIVE
March 31, 2015

Whoever heard of a law firm which gives you no updates on your case, when calling... the receptionist is always courteous, (Fort Lauderdale office)... but when she places your call to your attorney... the call goes to voicemail which refers you to his assistant, so then you call the assistant, and the mailbox is full, meanwhile voicemail message left on the attorneys extension, requesting case status updates are never returned, resorting to email and you get no response there either... even copying a partner on the emails you get no response. They got me for initial consultation fee and two months (monthly payments), before I terminated their NON-SERVICES... Several calls and emails requesting some sort of recompense followed--you guessed it: NO RESPONSE!

Be Careful
March 21, 2015

Met with a 'paralegal' at a generic office suite in Tampa. He was late, no credentials on the walls, no business card... yikes. This could have been a major rip off if I had decided to give them retainer $$$. BE CAREFUL consumers!

DO NOT USE!
November 16, 2014

DO NOT USE! RIP OFF REPORT! The law firm, Kaufman, Englett and Lynd, was awarded a rating of an ‘F' in 2011 by the Better Business Bureau because of its failure to "to resolve the underlying cause of a pattern of (client) complaints." Because of pressure from the Better Business Bureau, the law firm decided to remove itself from the accreditation program of the organization, the first time a law firm did this in the history of the Better Business Bureau.

KEL law firm founders disciplined by Florida Supreme Court... The Florida Supreme Court ordered that the three founders of Kaufman, Englett & Lynd PA law firm be publicly reprimanded. All three founders acknowledged they failed to communicate properly with clients about cases. In addition to the reprimand, the owners also were ordered to attend ethics schools and pay the cost of Florida Bar investigation.

Mistakes in a consumer-bankruptcy case involving Sanchez and the inadvertent violation of a related court order drew the wrath of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Arthur Briskman, who temporarily barred KEL from practicing bankruptcy law in the Middle District of Florida. The Orlando-based judge later filed a complaint with The Florida Bar and cited KEL itself for what he termed "unprofessional" work.

What can I say, they were totally incompetent in handling my mortgage modification. My account was passed around to so many people, they didnt even know what was going on. They changed the address with the lender, but never bothered to check the mailroom to see the lender had sent mail requesting more info. Mistakes in the NPV worksheet from the lender were ignored. They actually gave me WRONG information, that put my house in DANGER of foreclosure, and then said "oops, that information was incorrect, we are sorry". What a JOKE. Stay awya, they have a vancy building and lots of marketing dollars, but the service is awful. They even have an F with the BBB!

I just wanted to express appreciation on the way my Short Sale was handled. Within the past few months I have had the pleasure of working with one of KEL employees. Her promptness and dedication in handling my case with Chase bank went smoothly.

She returned every one of my phone calls and emails. Her attitude and professionalism is an asset to your firm. Although I never had the privilege to meet her face to face I thank her for all her hard work and dedication.

In these times of financial hardship throughout the world, and with so many families needing assistance with their mortgages, I am happy I found KEL.

I am writing this review in reference to one of KEL staff members who is currently assisting my wife and I with our credit card debt. She has been instrumental in helping us settle several major credit cards an obtaining outstanding settlement offers as well as payment plans. She is customer oriented and professional in addition she is always available and her response time is impeccable. I would be happy to recommend the services of KEL to anyone who is in need of assistance. They have done a great job and their people are top notch! Keep up the good work.

WOW!
August 8, 2011

WOW! WOW! Exceeded our expectations. Me and my wife could not be happier in choosing KEL to help us. We were totally and completely unable to navigate the situation on our own. After 1 ½ years, desperate, failing, and not knowing what to do next… we discovered KEL. As being a small business owner I can only say their record keeping and organization must have a lot to do with their success. I really appreciate your business protocol. Once again, thanks.

I just want to say a few words about Kel Attorneys. Their kindness, courteous and professional attention to both my husband and myself that helped us through the most stressful years of our lives. We have dealt with MANY KEL employees and I have to say each really provided us with the attention needed. They are the best.

This law firm is awful. You don't want to hire a firm that is literally handling TENS of THOUSANDS of cases, and each attorney within KEL is apparently expected to handle 500-1000 cases! They have been supposedly "defending" my foreclosure case for over a year. I have had to BEG to get most things done, they don't return phone calls or e-mails in a timely fashion, they won't allow you to speak with an actual attorney unless you demand to (and then you will likely have to wait a week or more), they don't always file court paperwork on time (which could put your case in jeopardy), and the list goes on and on. This firm seems to be way overloaded with cases and clearly cannot handle their caseload.

If you hire KEL, you will be a "number", not a client. And they won't bother to ask you how YOU would like them to respond to the court/ plaintiff's attorney, or what your defense options are. They act as if YOU work for THEM. Not the other way around! If you are considering hiring KEL or if you need an attorney, I would recommend looking elsewhere!
