I have purchased and sold gear through KEH. Purchasing was simple and the items I received were exactly as described. Compared to other companies who purchase used equipment, KEH's process is much faster and easy to understand. You simply fill out the quote wizard, receive a quote and mailing label almost instantly and if your gear is as you describe it, receive a check for the quoted price. No waiting for phone calls, figuring your percentage, etc.

KEH is well-respected for good reason. The items they deliver are almost always exactly as advertised, except that they generally are in better condition than you would expect from their rating system. THey always come securely wrapped an packed, so shipping damage is not an issue. On the extremely rare ocasion that something has had an undiscovered flaw, they have been immediate in responding positively and swiftly to correcting the problem - usually be replacement with a better version. I have never had cause to be displeased with KEH.

I am getting back into film photography after about 20 years away, and I have purchased a good portion (20 or so, from lenses to camera bodies to various accessories) of items from KEH. All items arrived in superb condition, well-packaged, very quickly. Prices are very reasonable, very competitive - and I've done a massive amount of price comparison with others who sell used photo equipment. I have had to return two items i had ordered in error (not compatible with my equipment, as it turned out), and in both cases, customer support was superb.

For the most part finding a desired camera or accessory was easy enough. I had purchased a camera at KEH before. This last order was for three cameras. All point and shoot type cameras and at the low end of the price category. I received the cameras in a fairly timely manner, but two of the cameras did not fully function and for one camera the battery was the wrong battery. By the time I was sent the replacement battery it was then that I found that the camera also did not fully function. One camera had a burnt Imiging chip, probably pointed at the sun accidentally, but it produced a dark area in the center of each image. The other camera turned on, and took a picture, but none of the buttons on the back of the camera functioned. To the credit of KEH they refunded my money for one camera, and found a replacement for the other. One small other problem was that the replacement battery they sent did not fit the charger that was sent with the bad and wrong battery. Fortunately I had a charger that it did fit, otherwise I would have had to sent the charger back and wait again for a replacement. Another good point about KEH is they paid the shipping for all this exchanging. This experience will not deter me from purchasing from them again. I think there was a quality control issue in the area where the used cameras are inspected and graded.

I have several camera bodies and decided to sell my 5D mark II in order to buy the Mark III. I bought it from a person on eBay. I have never felt comfortable with that new camera and decided to purchase another Mark II as I loved the photos from my old camera. I am sure that my Mark III is the exception and not the rule for this body but I decided that I would not buy any camera from eBay ever again so I started looking at other sources. All the big camera stores offer used equipment but they do not grade the equipment like Keh does. I found a used Mark II in E+ condition and snapped it up. I was very pleased with this camera. When Keh says it is in E+ condition, you can count on it.
