The overall reputation of the company is significantly tarnished by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to poor construction quality and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight severe issues such as structural defects, delayed repairs, and unresponsive support, leading to a sense of frustration and distrust among homeowners. Positive aspects are sparse, with few customers noting initial satisfaction with the sales process. However, the prevailing sentiment is one of regret, as clients express a strong desire to warn others against engaging with the company, emphasizing a lack of accountability and subpar workmanship.

So, for almost a year I have been trying to get my floors fixed to no avail. The builders send crews who only repair bits and pieces without actually fixing our problem. You walk near the furniture and the tv on the stand moves back and forth (not tipping over), the dresser does the same... instead of tearing up the floor and fixing the problem they claim that it's the furniture that we own that is causing the problem (too heavy and sits in between joists!) Thier answers are crap, my brother in laws house does none of this at all but it wasn't built by KB either. They know they are wrong but come up with excuses as to why we are wrong. Don't buy one as we are stuck here for another year due to the fact if we sell in the 1st 2 years we will pay a capital gains tax. The warranty on the house isn't worth crap if you cannot get it fixed.
We have a five-year-old KB home in Copper Crest in Mesa AZ. Throughout the five years we have had continual electric problems with our garage door and water heater shutting off when it rains. Electrical outlets that sporadically work as well as flickering or non working lights. In addition we have a roof leak. Even though the roof visually looks brand new. However we have a leak on the ceiling of a bedroom which cost us several thousands of dollars to repair drywall, insulation, and paint. We also need to replace about half of our roof another $8000 because KB home used the cheapest roofing materials available that still passed code. Our insurance will not pay because they say the roof leak is due to builder error. KB home will not pay because our roof warranty is only good for a couple of years. Add onto that just shoddy workmanship such as the deadbolt on a door not lining up with the hole it is supposed to go into, or crooked corners and uneven measuring above door sills. KB does Not care about quality. They do things as cheaply and as quickly as they can to make a profit. When your home starts to fall apart, by that time too bad nothing is under warranty.
What to say about this company KB Homes? If I can give) starts i will... It's one of the worst companies I've ever seen, I just had problems, in November my husband and I decided to build our house, then the customer service problems start, then with the people involved in the financing... just frustration after frustration, until my mother-in-law who was our co-sign was furious with the situation at KB home and with my husband and decided not to be a co-sign anymore so far so good, we lost the house, because in mid-July KB informed us that without our co-sign and with the increase in interest we would not qualify for the purchase of the house, and they sent us the letter signed by all parties involved ending our contract, in addition to being very sad this whole situation was totally deceived by the seller, who gave us the letter, we signed via DocuSign and assured us that since KB homes was canceling we would have our refund including from Studio Galleries and that it would take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to receive the refund, which did not happen and of course sells it pain does not answer us we contacted KB corp, and to our surprise we were informed that we are not entitled to anything, KB canceled it said that we do not qualify and they still stole our money, this company is to be afraid, a real fraud and that not being there for customers or people this company its a really SCAM and they really scam people, we were totally deceived, attended by rogues and people of bad faith, now we lost a house, lost money, and they smile on our face, Never recommend for anyone,
Hi i am the home owner of Lot 74! This is my house right now at 7pm it is uninhabitable, every single spot of my house is like that because the air conditioning took care of spreading the dust everywhere, and they are still working here and they tell me they won't be able to finish the work today…. I been from July 16 2021 waiting for get fix my hollow and cracked tiles with a total of 200 tiles. They decided to sent a company today to replace the tiles and you guys now how many tiles they bring because the company just gave them 3 box of tile for a total of 56 tiles, now I'm still have to wait maybe another year for get fix my floor? Is incredible when you pay 10k just for your floor and you don't even have it right. Is very frustrating too when you try to call and to communicate with someone to let them know the situation and to see what they going to do with My family for the night and you don't have any response. I been from 9:30am in the balcony because you barely breathe inside the house.…. I'm not going to go through this process twice and have my new furniture and everything keep getting damaged. It is incredible that a company like this prefers to pay for a cheap and bad job..
Have had several issues since we bought our home less than two years ago, i was initially wary when they were pushing back on me getting an independent inspector for the home, claiming all their homes are internally inspected and "no one has ever asked to have a house inspected before, I don't know if we even allow it" was said a few times, my inspector found >20 issues requiring correction and noted that they have a habit of building shoddy fences so to keep an eye on that. Had a fence post rot out from the base and drop a portion of my fence and was denied warranty on it because it's been over a year, glad to know they don't even expect their fences to last.
Edit: i put value at 3 because i managed to buy before prices skyrocketed, they did however completely ignore my requests to sign docs for 24 hours and then came to me a day later saying i had just missed signing by one day before the price rose 10k so there's that
KB Homes has not completed the work that needed to be done on my home and has still not completed the issues. I closed on my home last month on the 29th and 90% of the issues have not been resolved due to either laziness or blatant disregard for other people money and time.
- Back door is so out of square it takes a 200 lbs person to open it. (They attempted to replace the track to resolve the issue but it remains as the door is not square in the wall and needs to be cut out and replaced)
- Mud and rusty nails all over the roof
- A drawer missing from the counter ( I was told they have the parts for the drawer just have not had the time. This was supposed to be resolved before move in. Still has not been completed)
- Still missing appliances ( KB homes was given several options to resolve this issue. Lied and said they are back ordered. Used COVID as an excuse. Order the units ahead of time. Get me the units I have already given money for or give the money back)
- Back yard was not graded and left concreate chunks scattered all over the back yard
- Lines of paint on almost every hard wood floor in the house. ( This was noted before closing and was told it would be resolved that day)
- Up stairs counter was installed but left the sink laying on the floor and the old counter thrown in my guest room with drywall chunks scattered all over the place. New sink has still not been installed.
- Garage door panels replaced and still not painted
The fact this is how this company does business is beyond me. The lack of attention to detail and continuous spewing of excuses is sickening. Hire more people get the job done and do not contact me unless it is with an ACTUAL resolution and not telling me to wait and see.
Bought new construction home in Tucson, AZ. NEVER AGAIN! Sales folks were great, however no final inspection with customer and after 2 years, still waiting. After care is terrible and their customer service is worse. There are better home builders and believe me when I say you will regret buying from KB Homes. Photos show inadequate drainage because they tried to bury a ton of trash. Cracks/dents everywhere, sinking driveway, loose counters & obscure doors to name a few.
My experience with KB Homes has been very difficult and frustrating. Since the beginning of this building process, communication has been the biggest issue within' the company. It took us 11 months to have our home built. I have spoken to customer service reps and supervisors about the continuous issues that we are having in our home. I have received no feedback as to when these items will be taken care of nor does anyone respond to my outreach. When I'm outside my home, they won't even look at me knowing the issues and concerns I have regarding my home that was built by their employer. I may take legal actions if these items aren't addressed because I was informed that issues within' my home were covered by the companies warranties.
These people are very bad builders. Please do yourself a favor, stay away from KB Homes. Do your research and find how many people are dissatisfied with there new KB Home crap home.
I recommended a client to KB homes, and they were convinced to build without being represented. Now that I know they have a shady business model, I won't ever recommend them to clients again.
Don't trust kb home. Outside house trees and plants were dead because of poor dripping system. Got it fixed by kb home, but very soon again the doing system went bad and plants gone dead again. Now kb home says its your fault, you have kept water pressure high. I was never told by kb home how this system works and how to manage water system
My wife and I bought a home from KB about 3 years ago. They did anOK job on the house. But they really screwed up the driveway, the sidewalks, my back patio and the landscaping. The concrete people didn't have a clue about pouring concrete. They poured in the rain. Also, the concrete finishers must have either been drunk, or really hungover. I complained about it quality of the work. So they sent over some numbnut who put ardex over the concrete to straighten it up. Now the ardex is coming up. Consequently, I have to get all the ardex up, which will cost plenty. After that, I'm still stuck with the same lousy concrete work that I had before They "fixed" it. Just Bad!
Then there's the landscaping. They just threw the sod down on top of rock, no topsoil, nothing. Anyone ever try to grow a decent looking lawn on rock? I am!
I've been in the building industry over 40 years. I have never seen such a pathetic excuse for a home builder. And I have worked for plenty. Every time I tried to get something fixed, they sent some amateur out who ultimately made the problem twice as bad. Now, unfortunately, we are stuck with the pitiful results. Honestly, I'm truly sorry I ever heard two letters: KB.
We were doing PCS with the Navy and KB Home was our nightmare. Since August 2021 talking to them and in December we came to Jacksonville Florida to discover we didn't have a house to stay because they weren't even working on it. DON'T BUY WITH THEM
The simple truth is that pointing out the bad construction quality of my home will make the biggest investment of my life worth less. I have been reading all of the 5 star reviews from the happy homebuyers that have recently moved in. I say just wait. But then, later, will they want to write a review that will reduce the value of a home that they might want to sell?
HERE ARE SOME OF THE PROBLEMS DISCOVERED WITH MY 14 YEAR OLD KB HOME. I purchased my KB Home a few years ago. It was built in 2007 in a gated community of some 220 homes. I bought it for a great price and the seller was thrilled to make the deal--now I know why.
The first thing I encountered was the poor wiring. I change every one of the electrical outlets. Some of them wouldn't even hold a plug anymore--just the simple weight of a cord would cause them to fall out. One of the outlets was even melted. As I proceeded with the change out I got shocked even though I had turned off the breaker for that circuit. WHAT! I discovered that it was a backfeed from a dimmer switch on a different circuit that shared the same neutral wire. An outright building code violation.
Fast forward to today and the latest problem is the concrete tile roof. It stared to leak in two places. The roofer came out and told me that he would make the repairs, but that before long I would have to have a complete roof job! Why, a roof shouldn't have to be completely redone every 15 years? The three main reasons were: ONE, the wood panels under the concrete tiles in some places didn't extend all the way to the peak thereby not giving adequate support for the roofing above in those areas; TWO, there was only a single layer of unmodified paper, a paper that with temperature changes and the weight of concrete tiles would crack thereby breaching the critical barrier that it needs to maintain; THREE, the overlap on the roof tiles themselves is at least an inch short of the manufacturer's requirement as well as what is considered the industry standard.
I'm going to stop here because I don't want to seem petty with all of the other little things. I just want to finish by saying, if I judge by my home, then I can say that it appears that at least here in California that KB Homes builds houses to the quality that will get them past the California 10 year law.
I just wanted you to know.
WORSE COMPANY EVER. Since closing date till repairs to be done on a "new house"
4 months so far and this company can't make all the repairs that has to be done. Well FU@$ them. I did the repairs my selft FU@& coastal and west coast drywall&paint companies. Very unprofessional companies. Eagle crest the cove. Only CJ from customer service does his job besides of him… anyone else just give a damnnnnfu@& about your situation
I don't own a KB home. They developed the cheapest, ugliest, low quality houses next to me, and destroyed my property; multiple times.
This company is terrible. I will never buy another KB Home and I'm telling everyone I know to steer clear. They have horrible communication and poor tome management. They pride themselves on customer service and I don't know why they think it's good. I'm on my third customer service rep and I've lived here 8 weeks. They keep quitting. It's impossible to get work done or repairs made. They consistently avoid phone calls, don't return emails, and say they'll come by and never do. Seriously do not waste your time. KB Home is a joke. They won't take responsibility for faulty products and genuinely don't care if you're unhappy with the house.
The framing, painting, sheetrock, window sills, windows, and gutters were constructed by a gorilla. Electrical wiring is dangerous and a fire hazard. If you did not get to see your home constructed from the ground up and get to see how the wiring was done, it is an exercise in gross negligence. If you are in Florida go with TAPIA homes.
This KB company is a fraud. As soon as you move in you are on your own, they will agree to fix the mistake they made but they will never fix them.
Answer: Just google the ceo of kb. And send him a direct email if you want action
