Yep, normally I don't fall for this, but I did. It stated, ask a question for $5, okay, at my wits end on what is wrong (and I am mechanically inclined), contacted this group.
The tech said, yep, need to bring it in to the shop (which at this point and after 2 hours of diagrams and research) was the same thing I was going to do. No, "it is most likely this...or could be this"
Okay, only out $5. NOPE! TODAY THERE IS $30 MORE OUT OF MY ACCOUNT for a membership (to make it worse, the first thing it states, free first service question is free, WHAT? Why is the $5 out of my account also?
To top it off, the website and app have you go in a loop to get your information off their site, the loop is sending you to their app, then back to their website which opens a text box like you want to talk with a technician again. You have to click pretty quick on payment area before this pops up again. Not a fan

They said it was a $1 trial fee. When I went to pay it was actually $35. I only found out later it was a 35 dollar a month commitment. My experience using them was a 2 hour and 15 minute response only to ask a question. I answered right away. Then a 2.5 hour responce with another question. After answering that question I got a responce 7.5 hours later with another question. After answering that question immediatly no more questions or answers almost 6 hours later. They were zero help on finding the problem. I have since found the problem myself. I would not recomend using this service.

They are literally trash. They take my money and didn't even provide me a good advice for my problem. When I ask for my refund they just cancel the chat and show a error they took my 20 hours salary which I earned and didn't solve my problem. I will never believe these sites again

Joined to ask 1 question. Asked said question, find out later, they billed the original $2.00CA and then an additional $95.00. Called Customer Service, they tell me I can't get a refund since I agreed to a "Monthly Membership."
I wasn't aware that there was an obligation to sign up for a monthly membership to ask 1 question, which they advertised at $2.00. Total scam, not worth a dollar.

I have come to realize that a call I made on 1/29/21 turned into a monthly charge of $34 beginning in February of 2021 until this past month of November 2022 by "JustMechanic".
I called "JustMechanic" aka "JustAnswer" on Saturday, 12/3/22 when I became aware that this has been charging to our account every month $34 since February 2021. I made a call on 1/29/21 and was charged $5 at the time and then the $34 charges started coming.
On 12/3/22 I was informed by JustAnswer that I had a "membership" and they would need to cancel it and they could only refund me 3 months worth of charges. On Monday, 12/5/22, I called our credit card company, Chase, to dispute the charges and have them fight for us. Because of timing, Chase will only fight for charges from August 2022 to now.
JustAnswer is not using straightforward business practices. JustAnswer/Mechanic never provided any written documentation about charges until this past Saturday, 12/3/22. If they are going to make monthly charges they should be required to share that the credit card is about the be "charged". There is nothing from them and I have the ability to search in my email account key words with years of data and information and there is NOTHING from them until the day I called to CANCEL something I had NO IDEA I was subscribed to. This is wrong on so many levels and takes advantage of people. Please help me to get credit for the additional 19 times we were fraudulently charged on our credit card. Please help me to tell my story so others are not taken advantage of as well. Where can I post all the ZERO stars.

They are preying on the desperate by telling you they there is a small amount payable and an expert will answer.
Once they have your card details they deduct a small amount and another massive amount without authorization.
This supposed massive amount is a membership fee and apparently is displayed everywhere on there website.(double and triple check with fake accounts it is not discussed or displayed)
They are refusing to refund my money nor can they provide me of where i accepted the terms of the membership which was NOT discussed or agreed by me.

It was my understanding that I would be charged $5. The same night I canceled my subscription and was charged $29 the next day. I contacted customer service and was told I was aware of the charge and I was not.

Our cat was sick. Our vet couldn't see him for 2 weeks. In a panic, we reached out to Just Ask for help. The call was made quickly to us by the vet. A quick diagnosis of acute gastritis was made. OTC meds were prescribed. It was wrong. The meds covered up what was really going on. He needed an emergency vet, it would have saved our kitty. He was heading towards Acute kidney failure. We followed the prescribed treatment as he got sicker. We took him to the vet and found out that if we had brought him in earlier, they could have pulled him back from the edge. We followed the Just Ask prescribed steps instead of going to any vet, as a result despite our vets heroic care, Jasper died. As an insult to injury, when we initially looked at Just Ask for help, we unwittingly signed up for a membership. If you don't cancel said membership in a few days, you are charged for the full monthly membership of $39. Even after seeing the initial $39 fee, I was unaware that it was a monthly membership until 2 weeks after my kitty's death when I was charged again. I reached out to the company and was refunded this month alone and canceled my membership. Be aware that you are signing up for more than you may be bargaining for. Also note, Nothing can beat a hands on approach. A vet visit to any vets office can be a game changer for both you and your furry friend.

I had a medical question. It was answered quickly and it helped. I was charged $5.
I'm usually careful with websites such as this and look to make sure I'm not subscribing to a monthly service. Missed it on this one and they billed me $46 twice before I caught it. So sleezy when companies do this. I know it's my bad, but I DO NOT recommend them. Maybe an email BEFORE they charge my card to remind me I'm being scammed?

You think you are paying a 1 time fee to get an issue resolved- they are good at putting you in touch with the right people, BUT…you'll get recurring charges every month after that

Pretty sure they use an AI for their "assistant", and the "three experts online now" were nowhere to be found in the time that I waited.
Took an extremely long and drawn out process of trying to get them to refund the join fee was a huge hassle, as they tried to say no about eight times. Eventually got it back, but only after a long chat.
This whole thing feels like a ripoff. Also, the chat will conveniently not let you ask questions after the assistant tells you to sign up for their program. Save yourself the trouble.

I had a very basic question about privacy and medical information. I wasn't sure if I had any recourse in my situation, or not. The webpage at Justanswer.com said that I could have a question answered for $5. Being that my question was very simple I thought it was reasonable to spend the $5, and I gave them my bank account information. I asked the attorney my question, and got a straightforward simple answer. I was satisfied with that. That same day I saw that there was a $46 charge on my debit card. When I emailed them and asked for that to be refunded I was told I was charged that because I did receive an answer. I would not have given them my bank account information if I had known they were going to charge me $46. I did go back to the auto chat function on the website and ask how much it is to have a question answered, and was told that it is a "small refundable fee" if I canceled within 7 days, which is what I did. When I asked again online how much the fee is I was told to go to another page which required my bank information and a charge of $1 to get more information. I'm so frustrated and I feel wronged. Shame on them.

I was in a desperate situation, only to find this service is a Subscription! Rediculous. I was not able to think clearly or make decisions doe to the stressful nature of m6 situation, while I was been exploited by "small print" to the tune of over $300. Don't use this service at all. They are unprofessional (I apparently interrupted the attorneys dinner) and take your money at all costs. When you try to find out what happened, every person will give you a different answer, proving unprofessionalism. Jessell, the supervisor, was the most unhelpful person I could imagine working in a customer service environment. Rude and totally unhelpful and extremely threatening. Disgrace to the supposed company. Do not use!

Answer: I got scammed last year for just over $50k on what I thought was a legit investment site. Everything looked real — I even withdrew a small amount at first — then one day my account was “under review” and the site vanished. I reported it to the FTC and pretty much gave up hope. Months later, someone who saw my complaint told me to email cyberfundsrecovery12@ gmail. Com. I was super skeptical (once bitten, twice shy), but they actually knew exactly how these scams work. It took about 3 months of paperwork, verifications, and bank back-and-forth, but I got a big chunk of my money back. Not all of it, but way more than I thought I’d ever see again. If you’ve been scammed, don’t give up — there are people who can help, but be careful who you trust.
