Skills often include "partnership" which doesn't include "collaboration" - and they mean very similar things so then my score is low. I don't want to put both partnership and collaboration in my resume...
Jobscan helps me in focusing my resume with the job description
What a brilliant piece of software! After countless rejections for jobs, I was told my CV was being filtered out by the ATS. I hired a professional CV writer and had no better success. Using Jobscan for just a week resulted in no instant rejections, and an interview. The interface is very intuitive so can be used easily by anyone. I have recommended this to friends, who have had similar success. Thank you to the Jobscan team.
Jobscan was just what I needed to refine my resume and update my LinkedIn profile. My first pass at an application through an ATS system didn't make it. Then I used Jobscan and worked out the kinks in my resume that got it blocked by the ATS. My resume then made it through and I got the interview!
Every time I am searching for a new job, I always use jobscan.co to assist with tailoring my resume, and I always sign up for premium. I find the platform to be very helpful and easy to use. When I first applied for jobs without jobscan, I rarely got call backs. I could not figure out what was wrong as I felt like I was qualified for the job, yet I kept getting rejected. However, after signing up with jobscan.co it was very insightful at pinpointing key words and showing how my resume matched up against the actual job description. From there, I was able to tailor my resume and beat the ATS. I've received a lot of call backs as a result. Jobscan comes with a quarterly or monthly subscription model in order to unlock key features like unlimited scans. If you're on the fence and can afford it, just take the plunge and get it. Your career/dream job is worth way more than that, and more than likely you won't need the service for very long anyway. If you're at your wit's end and are tired of getting rejected, just give jobscan a try- you may be pleasantly surprised!
Jobscan + Milewalk Academy tips and recommendation on how to write my resume allowed me to get considered by a few companies. In my opinion it's a valid and effective tool however you must do your homework on how to write your resume, don't expect miracles from jobscan.
I used jobscan premium for 3 months. The power editor is by far the handiest tool. Along with that, the ATS tips followed by keywords recommendation and LinkedIn optimizer are helpful as well. I feel the job finder still needs some work but overall, it works.
What Jobscan did help me realize though is what recruiters look for in a resume. Along with keywords recommendation and content addition, there's more to be done. I had been doing it all wrong. Especially for entry-level candidates like me. The way I used jobscan was; I found a job, used power edit to add the keywords, and then "read the description" to see what else I could add. Once I was convinced that I had work relating to what the job description asked for. That's what got me an interview.
Sometimes words that are in my resume and the job posting are not matching. Sometimes it doesn't pick up on plural words.
The key skills can be very daunting, sometimes all it needs is an "s" or no "s" or it doesn't count... or I've used almost every term except for three and I'm still at 63% how is that possible?
Easy to use, rapid analysis, guides improvements to resume for each job description.
It doesn't always find exact word matches in my resume. It flags words like Sales and Marketing because it's not Sales And Marketing or Sales & Marketing.
Over all a very good experience, but there are workflow tweaks that would be 'a better way'
1) being able to link to job posting from the start of the interaction.
2) having a 'base line' resume available
3) being able to search within the resume that you're power editing so as to enable quicker change/revert
4) spell check in the powered mode. (i just figured out I applied to 4 jobs with a misspelling in the first 4 words of the resume)
I'm happy to contribute more ideas, but how about you hire me?
I would recommend it for anyone who is seriously looking for a job.
A go-to ap for me. The live edit could be a bit better at formatting. I recommend Jobscan frequently.
Its good but it picks up words thta are not Key Skills, and it misses words that are exactly spelled in my resume and indicates no match. This did not occur last year.
The interface isn't as user friendly as I expected. Also, the formatting on my resume was messed up after I uploaded it to scan. I am not satisfied and will likely not continue after the trial.
It takes some time to get used to the site and how best to use it functionally. I've experienced a few technical glitches but all in all like this tool
Useful insights, advises and resume feedback. It helped me to get a job! Very easy to use and very clear outcomes - highly recommended for anyone who is job hunting. I regret I didn't know about this great tool earlier.
This tool has been a game changer in my current career moment. I'm currently moving to another country and wasn't getting a lot of responses to my applications, since I started using Jobscan I already got 3 new interviews.
The software works! It sets you up for the best chance to land your job or at least an interview. Pandemic adds a bigger hurtle so you need every advantage you can get.
Answer: Hi Tanisha! Jobscan recommends at least 80% for ATS to make your resume visible to the hiring manager. To boost your match rate, take a look at the missing skill and keywords (the ones denoted as red X) and see which ones are relevant to include in your resume. Focusing on including missing keywords that appear more frequently in the Hard Skills section will quickly boost your match rate. Here's a video tutorial that helps with getting your rate up - https://www.jobscan.co/video-resume-match-report. I hope this helps. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have questions as you go along. Thanks!
