Terrible service. Waiting weeks for refunds. Lieing customer service. Inept inventorying in where house. Not the same company since their only competition went out of business.
This is the worst on line service I have ever had. I ordered a frame and got an e mail it had shipped. I never received it so I called and they said it was out of stock. And would not receive it. Told them to refund my money and still have not received it. When I CALLED HAD TO WAIT ON THE PHONE FOR 45 MINUTES! TERRIBLE SERVICE AND WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN!
Slowest people working there, bad bad service... nobody care about customers... never will go again...
The store I go to always looks like they are going out of business with endcaps with just one item and shelves that are completely empty. Finding someone on the floor to help you never happens. Most people who work at the register there are moody and there typically is a long wait to get rung up. Their return policy is a pain. And then there is their website. It is slow, and has a non-functioning search engine and often won't display a picture of an item you are interested in. Going back and forth between items and lists requires many clicks and their shipping is extremely slow. Be prepared to wait for your item at least 2 weeks. Their prices are often above the suggested retail price so that when you use a 50% off coupon you are really getting more of a 20% to 30% off price. When looking at scrapbook stuff you find that they only carry items that are at least 6 months old. Also if you live on the West Coast and are putting in a sale around 9:00pm you might find that coupons and special shipping rate disappear due to the three hour time difference with where there office is located. If there is a way I can avoid buying at Joann I will. Luckily there are competitors who offer better selection, better service and often better prices.
To long of a line at the fabric counter and once we got up there the associate was very rude and not helpful
I have been a loyal customer of Joann Fabric... in the store at least once a week! They send you these amazing coupons in your email! You go to the store and they are out, or they have a long list of exclusions (which aren't provided on the coupon). You ask for a rain check which is readily handed out at any other store and you get laughed at. I just got off the phone with Joann Cusomer Service and although the lady was polite the service is terrible! You would think they would allow a substitute of another item/brand or something to make up for their inability to stock their stores. And Manager Ruth at Gulf Coast Town Center in Florida is very rude!
JoAnn's has most everything that crafters and sewers need. I love their online website because I live in a rural area about a 100 miles from the nearest JoAnns. I can order online and within a week, I have the things I needed. I always use their online 40% off coupon to lower my costs. Likewise, if I am going into the store, I can easily find a coupon to print and use in the store itself. They have a wide variety of fabric available and if you order some yardage and it is the end of the bolt of that piece, they include it on what you ordered at no charge. As a sewer, getting that little extra at no charge is just like Christmas. It is always such a nice surprise for me. I love walking through the aisles just checking out the multitude of crafting items that they have.
Ordered 4 yards abd received 2 yards and a fraction. When I called they said there were only 4 yards left and they couldnt send me the missing 2 yards. They wanted me to send it back abd hope I could get more. This was for a gift and is now going to be late. I wound up buying the extra fabric in hopes it actually gets here and keeping the original wrong order just so I can have the amount of material I need. I have never dealt with a more rediculous way to return something. They also said I could take it to the store but they wont take it. I asked that a manager call me. That was 6 hours ago. I will buy from anyone else but them again. Very disappointed in a company and the way it is run. It is CRIMINAL! So STOP STEALING FROM CUSTOMERS!
The JoAnn Fabric website must have been developed by the same hens with limited skill sets that also work in the stores. JoAnn has the monopoly on fabric in my region (I won't 'donate' a penny to the Church of Hobby Lobby), but my store gets picked over very quickly so I am forced to go online sometimes. Last September I ordered 2 yards of specialty fabric ($24.99/yd.) for a Halloween costume. I used a gift card and exhausted the balance in that order - with the ridiculous shipping rate I think the total came to $68 and change. Like a NORMAL person, I through the spent gift card in the trash.
Long story short, I was notified 2 weeks later that they will not be fulfilling my order and the amount will be credited BACK TO MY GIFT CARD. I called customer service and was read several scripts about their various policies and for MY PROTECTION, the gift card's number was not viewable to them. Also I felt like I was back in 1st Grade when she offered up her personal opinion regarding my NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROBLEM I CREATED by tossing a gift card with a zero balance.
There's a JoAnn Gift Card in a landfill somewhere with $68 on it if anyone wants to go digging.
After having recently learned of some bad things which JoAnns clearly supports, I will now be taking every single bit of my business to Hobby Lobby. I was a big JoAnns fan, but no longer. Thank you, Hobby Lobby, for coming to my town. As for JoAnns, I hope you close. You support that which I detest.
This review is about the worst experience I've had in years ordering products online at joann.com for pickup at a local store. I placed the order while I was in the store because there was an online special offer that was 1/2 the price being charged at the store. The order seemed to work just fine - my credit card was charged, and I got a confirmation of the order right away in email. However, after waiting 50 minutes in line while the good folks at the store tried everything they could think of -- including waking the store manager at home by phone -- they were unable to find my online order, or find a way to let me walk out of the store with the items without paying for them twice. Here are the problems:
- The online ordering tools do not indicate that orders placed after 5pm are not transmitted to the store until the next day.
- Even the confirmation e-mail simply says "we'll let you know when your order is ready to pick up." There is no estimation of when that might be.
- There is no mechanism on the on-line ordering system to cancel an order -- you are instructed specifically that you can return items after you've picked them up. In this case I was asked by the lead cashier to cancel my online order so she could sell me the items in the store matching the online price - but there was no way to do it!
- Buried deep in a "Pick Up Information" web page that your order e-mail points to is an 888 number for customer service with an indication that they can cancel an order -- however they didn't answer the phone while I was standing in the store close to their 9pm closing time.
I had the sense that the folks in the store were trying their very best to be helpful. And they thanked me for not being mad -- because they said that many of their online customers are furious about the delays, not being able to change online orders, and having the store return the items to the shelves after 3 days if they aren't picked up -- with no timely refund of the purchase. However the local folks apparently have their hands tied by a hugely defective on-line ordering process - over which they have no real control.
I will likely return to the store when I need to, but I am VERY unlikely to ever try to purchase anything at joann.com again. Save yourself the wasted time and frustration. Don't purchase anything online at joann.com if you intend to pick it up at a local store.
When those endless phony coupons arrive in the mail, toss them in the recycling. Notice that they have come-ons like "60% off on a regular priced item". Well, there are no "regular priced items". I bought about 15 items and was told they were all "on sale". There was no mention of that on the product. That has happened EVERY time I've gone with the coupons. Everything is always on sale there, so the coupons are fake and there's no point in waiting for the coupon date to arrive.
I placed a big order for four times, and each time they cancel my order without any explanation. I contacted customer support numerous times and all they can tell me it is cancelled by their "asset protection" department. Contacting that department is impossible, you can leave a voice mail message and you may get an e-mail back without any useful information, nor a reconfirmation of the order.
They say they have updated my information and should order again (but my coupon I used was only valid for one order), but the next order gets cancelled again.
I placed the same order again, but in my mothers name with her contact details and again, the order got cancelled.
I had a good deal with some items on sale and an additional coupon, so I'm pretty sure JoAnn's "asset protection" just means protecting their own assets so they can make enough money on the items they sell. They are a fraud with fake promises and I urge everyone to never ever buy anything with them again. I used to be a big fan of them, bought a lot of stuff over the years, but now I am very very disappointed about their attitude. They don't even try to find a solution.
Online ordering is TERRIBLE and I hope to save someone else the frustration I've dealt with this week.
Wednesday, I ordered 5 bottles of Unicorn Spit stain. I needed it to finish some projects I have for my upcycle furniture business.
I paid $17.95 for expedited shipping, "3-4 business days."
The total bill for 20 oz of stain was $71.32. Pricey, but it's really great stuff, and I needed it.
The site informed me that it was "shipped" on Wednesday. I signed up for alerts on its arrival.
By Thursday, I called FED EX, they still did not have possession of the pkg.
FRIDAY, still nothing. I called Jo Ann Fabrics customer service and dealt with a terribly rude, completely dismissive man, who assured me FED EX had my pkg (not true, I called FED EX RIGHT BEFORE I CALLED JAF).
I asked to speak to a mgr, and was told that wasnt possible. Seriously?
I called FIVE MORE TIMES that day, and by the 4th call, they did admit FED EX did not have the pkg yet (duh), but did ZERO to make sure it went out. In fact, I was told that it was scheduled for delivery on Monday the 24th, and if it didn't come by TUESDAY (WHAT?) to call back. That's unacceptable. I PAID FOR IT TO BE HERE, IT NEEDED TO BE HERE.
Still nothing.
Now, I've dealt with FED EX many times, no issue with their service. I DO KNOW THAT 3-4 business days, means just that. So, if the pkg didn't go out THURSDAY, IT WAS NOT GOING TO BE HERE MONDAY.
It's now Saturday, I called again. FED EX, still doesnt have pkg.
I sat on hold FOR 25 MINUTES while a rep "messaged" a mgr. I WAS NEVER ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO A MGR AFTER MULTIPLE REQUESTS. The manager (that may or may not exist), messaged the rep, and ONLY TO SAY the pkg is scheduled for delivery Monday. THATS IT? ITS NOT EVEN POSSIBLE, FED EX TOLD ME THAT!
I demanded a refund. I was told that will take "3-5 business days." I'm not holding my breath. I asked for a confirmation # for my refund - not possible. She also informed me when the pkg comes on Monday (SERIOUSLY? I guess she's sticking with that story!) to refuse it!
I'm thinking there's going to be some ocean front property in Arizona along with the refund.
HORRIBLE RIP OFF!
It deserves a big fat ZERO RATING!
Their whole online operation is a mess. My last order (one item) arrived after 2 weeks. I emailed customer service after the 1st week asking them to cancel my order since it was still processing and didn't get a response until 5 days later!
By that time the order had already shipped and their response was that they couldn't cancel orders once placed, and that my only solution was to reject the package or return the item at the store. No apologies for the delay whatsoever and I don't recall seeing anything about orders taking so long to ship while checking out.
Once it arrived (it was a cardstock pad), it was in a plastic envelope without any indication to not bent. So the mail delivery person stuffed it inside the tiny building mailbox and the cardstock arrived bent.
I had already placed an order before where items shipped/were billed separately and after a week of placing my order I was emailed about one item being out of stock... and they just realized it after a whole week?!
I don't think I'll ever order from joann online again. I like the physical stores, and it's hard to pass the good offers they have online. I suggest you only buy online only if you don't care 1) how long items will arrive 2) if they ever do and don't get canceled 3) bent or in bad condition
The only good thing was that they included a coupon for $20 credit for shutterfly, but honestly I could do without that.
All excited had a 50% off coupon went into the store they marked just about everything 30% off so you couldn't use the 50% off coupon on the majority of the items in the store
This is the worst place to buy, bad service and rude customer service. I ordered 4 sliders and one plastic tube of bead seads, after one week i just received one envelop with just ONE slider. Called to claim and they resubmitted my order with the missing items, another week to receive a broken tube and all the seeds coming out from the envelop which was also broken, called again to tell them what happened with my order and just a rude woman offering me to place a new order with the missing items, means i need to pay shipping again. NEVER buying from this place, horrible!
I ordered fabric online and they canceled my order, still 5 days later they have not returned my money back. How many days to credit back a gift card? Have send emails and no answer from them. RIDICULOUS bad customer service.
I will never order fabric online from JoAnns Fabric again. I ordered 5 yards of one fabric. I expected one continuous piece but they shipped the material in two cuts of 2 yards and 3 yards. I also ordered 4 yards of another fabric and received two cuts of 2 yards each. I attempted to return the material at a local store but they informed me I wouldnt get credit for the shipping charges. I decided to ship the fabric back with the hopes of receiving credit for shipping. After communicating with JoAnns that I didnt make the error, they issued me a one-time credit for shipping.
After reading several complaints regarding JoAnns handling of customers in stores, I realized I have had some of the same negative experiences i. E. poor customer service, not enough staff to manage the stores and long lines at the checkout.
The executives at JoAnns Fabric understand that crafters seeking supplies have limited resources. Therefore, providing quality service in stores and online isnt important to them. It would greatly enhance their business if they could improve their policies on providing good customer service, institute better operating procedures, provide more training to their employees in stores and in their warehouses where fabric is cut and shipped, and finally, the inspection of orders before they are shipped.
Ordered from JoAnn.com, they sent the wrong order so I returned it. Used their Postage Pd Retn label and today got an email that says theyve charged me $7.95 because I used the label instead of paying on my own. HUH? Wonder how they define PPR. Ive used PPRs from other websites and have never had to pay extra to any of them. I ordered online because of their brick & mortar store good reputation. Shoulda read those reviews first.
