I had a project I wanted to tackle on a Thursday night so on Wednesday morning I hopped onto Joann's website and placed my online order so I could pick up my items that night at my local store. I printed up my receipt and it stated that this order was being sent to my home. I called the local store and asked if they could change the status of my order to store pickup rather than wait for the Ohio facility to cut and ship my items. They referred me to the national Joann help phone number. Once I actually spoke to someone (after being on hold for fifteen minutes) I was told that what I was asking was "impossible". I explained I was under a deadline and waiting for the item to be shipped wouldn't work for me so she suggested that I go to the local store, buy the same items, and when the order (that wasn't processed yet on their end) was shipped to my home, I could return it to the store. All this seemed like a lot more work than cancelling my order and filling it at the store but I wasn't getting any common sense help from their end. Thursday morning I stopped by the store and purchased what I needed (and my deadline was met). When the other items arrived they came with return slips and FedEx labels so alright, no biggie. I dragged both packages to FedEx and they told me that they gave me two identical shipping labels and they could only send back one item, Ugh! So I went to the store with the second item to return it. I didn't have my receipt so the cashier used my credit card number and low and behold, "we don't show this in our system"... what? I bought it less than a week ago! I was given store credit and for $20. Less because they use the lowest price they can offer the item for. Joann fabric... horrible website (I was told I didn't check a small box when ordering and it happens all the time), poor customer service, (pretty simple fix but it was "impossible" for them), poor follow through (wrong shipping label), and failed in store experience, (my transaction couldn't be found after a week). One star too many.
I shop at JoAnn quite a bit during the months of August through November and almost always have a very good experience in the store. Last week Thursday I ordered 20 yards of fabric online. It was my first time ordering from JoAnn online. However I do shop and purchase items online very regularly. By Sunday evening, I still hadn't received an order confirmation notification and I was starting to get worried. I checked my credit card and there was a pending charge for the order, so I called customer service and found out that they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Not too smart considering most internet business have some type of customer service that is available even on the weekends. I went online and thought I might be able to get a live chat person but no such luck. I filled out a "contact us" form on the website but didn't hear anything by midday on Monday. So I called on Monday (today) afternoon. I waited on hold for 20 minutes. The customer service rep had a bit of trouble finding my order because apparently I had entered my email address on the order incorrectly and had *******@gmail.coma instead *******@gmail. Com. It would have been common sense for most people to figure out how to correct that error, but ok, my fault. I asked if she could correct the mistake in their system so that I could receive updates, shipment notifications, etc. on the order and she said the email address we have for you in our system is not wrong. Apparently there is a different system for orders and for customer information and I wasn't understanding why she kept saying the email address in the system was right but the email address couldn't be corrected on the order. She impatiently explained that there were two separate systems and that once an order is placed, they can't change the customer information on the order. Another odd thing based on my experiences with other online retailers. Anyway, she said that the order probably wouldn't ship for another two business days. Four days seems like a long time to fulfill and order but hey they basically have no competition when it comes to fabric stores that have both an online presence and a brick and mortar presence in the marketplace so I guess they can take their sweet time to fulfill orders. She also said that the shipping would take 5 to 10 business days to arrive. UGH! She said that I could call back in a couple of days to get a tracking number. Great, another 25 minute phone call on Wednesday. She was not very friendly and seemed annoyed and exasperated. It was not at all the kind of service I was expecting given the positive experiences I have had in the store. It seems like their system for fulfilling orders is out-of-date and painstakingly slow on the fulfillment end. Their customer service reps seem like they have a very high volume of calls and maybe they could stand to either hire more CSR's or take calls on the weekends so that they aren't overwhelmed on Mondays. These are all signs of a company that is struggling financially and I sincerely hope that is not the case.
Had very hard time downloading app in order to get coupon in store. Woman behind counter said a few people have had same problem at the store that day. In store for 40 min, in line for five all to walk away because of a problem with Joann's app without buying what I went to store for. Called customer service and waited for 24 minutes on hold. Every min went by on hold I got more disappointed. Finally c/s picks up, I say my problem and customer service seemed to be bothered by my call. No worries.A. C. Moore will take my business I bet.
I used to enjoy shopping at Joann Fabrics in Burlington MA but after several stops there I have found the women working there are rude and not helpful I will not be shopping here at all. Would prefer to be treated as a customer not as an annoyance.
I ordered two schemes of yarn the first one was the grey one the one I wanted the most the only reason I ordered the other one is counteract the shipping cost and make it a little more affordable for me now I get an email saying that there gray yarn is not available but they're sending the other one although I'm not being charged for the gray yarn I wouldn't have ordered the other one at all. Why post items that aren't available? Please keep your online stores updated.
I have an $150 order of fabric that has been in process since 5. 28. 18... Today is 6. 6. 18, what is the freaking hold up on shipping my order. This is utterly ridiculous and a disrespect to me and all customer.
I've called and called complain and explained to customer service that this fabric is needed for making Father's Day gifts, but seems to me that my complaining fell on deaf ears because my order still did not ship. I am a very disgruntled customer right now and has been given no choice but to right my grief in a review.
JOANN FABRIC JOANN FABRIC please ship my order! And after this I will take my monies somewhere else.
BSR
Reason of review: Order processing issue.
Monetary Loss: $150.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
I didn't like: Poor delivery service.
I like Joann's as a whole but when it comes to making handicapped people comfortable... They just don't seem to care. They don't have any riding carts or wheelchairs (if you're with someone else who can push you) I have COPD and i can't walk for too long at a time, even with a regular cart my arms get tired from holding myself up. So i think they should step up and get something for those of us who still sew and craft but can't walk all over the store.
I ordered 3 skeins of yarn not available in the local store. Credit card was charged $22.22. Nine days later, still no yarn. Sent email. Ignored. Called "customer service" and was promised full refund. $9.10 was credited. Second call got $3.10 more. Third call was told a full refund had already been processed. Nope. Save yourself stress and aggravation. Stay far, far away from Joann.com.
Went to try and get materials here for a DIY Headboard as a fun weekend project... but turned out that the store clerks were the walking braindead. The floor clerk was terrible and could not calculate or make a bill correctly for a yard of material. Then the cashier clerk told us that "it was too much work" for her to figure out how apply the discounts to products we bought from the store. LOL $#*!tiest experience ever at a store! (why is there no option to rate for 0 star?)
Ordered 4,2 yard pieces of coordinating fabric. One arrived. At the bottom of the receipt in tiny type ( I noticed days later) it says the others are out of stock. So, my options were to pay $8 to return a $6 item, or drive 20 miles to return it. I decided to just keep it... but the customer service was terrible, rude, not helpful. When items are out of stock, you need to contact the buyer to see if the want the remaining items.
On April 15, I ordered an article from Joann's, which was stated to be in stock. I followed on the website and there was no shipping information available a week later. I wrote on April 23 to customer service - that individual could not figure out my order. On April 25 I received this message: "It appears this delay was due to this order processing over to a warehouse that no longer fills orders for us as of last month. Due to this the order had to be cancelled, I apologize for the trouble! If you would like to reorder this item please respond to this email once the new order has shipped (please include the new order number) and I will assure you obtain the same sales pricing (with any coupons that were applied) as well as free shipping by processing a refund for these costs. Or, you can contact our Customer Care Department directly at *******120. We would be more than happy to honor the original sale price and waive the shipping. I would suugest waiting until Monday to place the new order, I have reported the issue and I want to be sure this is resolved so the same thing does not happen." Needless to say, I did not order again. Without my followup, they never would have been forthcoming about this order.
Joann doesn't send ANY acknowledgment of your order after it is placed! Because I processed my online order without setting up an account, I would not have any way to try to follow up If I hadn't printed the "thank you" page with order number. You can't track your order until they finally send you a tracking number! The fine print says they'll send you a tracking number when shipped & allow 5 business day. Well it's been 1 full week with no information!
I bought some Molds and decided this is not what i wanted so the same day like hours later i wanted to cancel the order. Will they say by email i can't cancel unless it like 10 min. After order. Now they say i have wait get my order and then ship back. Which just going cost me more money for something i do not need. So to me this is a bad company to do business with.
Very shady business practices for such a big company. My local store was having a liquidation/moving sale where much of the store was listed at an additional 25% on top of their current "sales". The additional 25% of signs clearly stated that sales were marked as final. I spent upwards of $250 in store, believing this to be a great sale where I could apply my coupon for 20% entire purchase of in store and regular priced items. When I got home and checked my recieot, I found that the discount only took off $8, when it should've been $50. I called the store and found that the coupon doesn't apply to anything in the 25% off liquidation sale, which I believe should have been clearly stated to customers... not only that, but I'm unable to return anything now. If the coupon says it applies to sale items, of course the customer is going to assume that it will apply to the additional 25% off. I was a regular customer of Joann but I will never be returning. It's very obvious that they dont care about their customers.
They cancel items they are supposed to have in stock from your order AFTER they tell you it has already shipped
Website is bad, store is bad.
It takes over a month and 20 phone calls before your items arrive (partially). And they never refund your money for those orders they cannot fulfill.
They need to go out of business. This company is fraudulent.
I have been disappointed in coupons from Joann Fabrics before, but today was the worst. I know I need to read the things very carefully because there are tons of exclusions. I purchased two zippers and had downloaded the Joann app so I had a 50% off notions coupon. Quilting supplies, sale items, etc. were excluded, but my zippers were regular price, so I thought I was all good. The zippers were $6.99 each, and when the cashier scanned the coupon, she said it wasn't good on those zippers, only on items in a certain area of the store - needles and so on. I had her read the coupon, and she admitted my zippers weren't stated as exclusionary items, but still refused to give me the 50% off. I am removing the app from my phone and will drive the additional 10 miles next time to avoid this store. Very disappointed.
The only reason I come to this store is because it is very close to my home. Each time I go in, I remember why I dont come often at all. The customer service is absolutely awful. My recent visit: I stood in line longer than I was actually in the store. When I got to the register the lady did not greet me, instead said Im kinda busy as shes looking in all directions except towards me. She was talking with a co worker about another customers online order, which is fine, except I am standing right in front of her waiting for her to ring my stuff up. She said a handful of words to me the entire time and I again had to wait on her just to get my receipt. I dont know that Ill be going back at all.
Suddenly couldn't sign in to my account. The customer service people had no idea how to help and said nothing was wrong. Now I don't even get emails. Opened a new account and they won't leave the store I chose as my store. I have to constantly change it. The store they claim is my store is an hour and a half away. I don't shop there. Customer service is useless. The worst web site on the net.
I ordered many things and paid $8 for shipping, I received two shipments and I kept waiting for the third to arrive with the fabric and one other things that I had ordered. I decided to send a ticket through their online system and only received an automated response that I would receive a response in 24-48 hours, 5 days later I called them.
Turns out the items I was waiting on were out of stock, so they were automatically canceled, but I was never told about it. So, now I'm three days out from a baby shower with no time to get to the store for the fabric I was going to use to make burp cloths and other gifts. I thought almost 3 weeks was enough time to receive the fabric and make the items, but I guess not.:-/
They did refund the shipping, but only after I suggested it and now I'm still stuck in a rut because of them.
