Hi, I used iYogi because my virus program was not installing. When I called the number for Mcafee I got iYogi. I paid the $169.00 fee for a year, unlimited problems. They were on my computer 3 times and could not fix the problem. I asked for a refund. They tried to talk me out of it but I wanted a refund. They refunded $110.00 of the $169.00. Charged me $59.00 for the service. I am going to try to get this back. Have any suggestions? Josephine

When the so-called "gurus" at one of my ISPs (also my DSL provider) could not reslove my problem, they sent me to iYogi. Everybody there treated me with courtesy and resolved my problem with on call. For my hundred seventy simoleons, I get 24/7 assistance in removing software and other problems. Sure, they're in India, but so what? I get a year of polite and competent assistance. And my computer was full of junk files and long running programs that were slowing me down, and eating memory, and this was the best and easiest way. I'm as contented as an oyster under the dock of a cornmeal mill.

This is an update to a posting on 5/11/11. In the post I stated that IYOGI had not refunded my $170.00 I YOGI did indeed refund my money only to an unexpected account.

It took 8 phone calls until I found a Customer Care rep. Who finally got to the bottom of the problem in the finance department. Why it took 3 months to resolve the issue is a mystery; however, I YOGI did resolve the issue and did refund the money 3 months earlier.

It just took them 3 months to figure out where the money was sent. On the other hand their technical support service is definitely 5 stars.

I just had a bad experience with Iyogi, having been steered there by Avast's website. After declining Iyogi's subscription services, they offered to have a technician work on my system to remove a suspected virus. He loaded MalwareBytes, ran a quick scan which did not find any malware. Then he began going through the user directories deleting desktop. Ini files, no big deal, but he also deleted boot. Ini and io. Sys from the root. Then he tells me to reboot. I chat back, asking if the pc is expected to boot after deleting the boot. Ini. He responds that yes, it will, that it is one of the commonly infected files. Hey, boot. Ini is clear text -- we could have opened it in Notepad and seen if there was any problem with it! So I let him proceed with the reboot and get stopped when XP can't find hal. Oh well, I was about ready to reformat that hard drive and reinstall anyway. So, I won't be recommending Iyogi, and I will now stop recommending Avast since they sent me there. Any opinions on the best AV software these days?

It was late on a Saturday when my new computer would not recognize my HP all in one printer. I tried several things and not being very techincal minded I finally turned to Windows Customer Support. I needed the computer to print a document needed the next day. Then began the nightmare. I was hooked to iyogi. The first thing they did was have me lof on to logmein so the tech could work on my computer. That went fine but the tech said my computer had numerous registry problem and even shoed me an error page. They said they would need to install Support Dcok so they could have the right tools to fix the problem. They also said there would be a $299.99 fee for a two year subscription. Well the Printer problem was fixed but at the expense of the bbot up time going from about 1 minute to at least 8 minutes and sometimes as much as 12 minutes. I called iyogi two more time and again turned over the control of my comuter to their tech. I have had almost all programs (which were not very many) not turned on at startup, that is fine but the boot up spped is still terrible. I have called customer service several times to try to cancel the subscription to the tech support. I am told many things but never that they will refund the money. Finally today Tuesday they agreed to change the subscription to one year and refund $130 I hope thta really occurs. I have a good friend working on the computer at this time, he has had a very difficult time uninstalling support dock and says that we may have to reformat the hard drive inoder to get the computer restored. If you can avoid iyogi then please do. Also shre this around.

Iyogi represented their co. As part of microsoft on the web. They told me I had hundreds of viruses which they could remove while I was online for a fee. I agreed and what they did was damaging to my computer. They removed programs i wanted and installed their own program.my original complaint was that i could not log on to my broker. I later found out the problem was the broker's. There were no viruses on my computer. Ihad to hire a local technician for repair

The site is a fraud and a scam. I was directed to iYogi.com by CA Technologies because I thought that my new computer with Windows 7 was running a little slow. The self proclaimed "experts" at iyogi convinced me to let them log in remotely to analyze the problem. They very quickly found hundreds of "error files" and "error folders." Since those "error" files and folders were "obviously the problem," the experts deleted "all of the files and charged me $169.99 for their trouble under the assumption that I might need their "expertise" again. My computer immediately crashed and became inoperable. About the same time my computer became infected with hundreds of Trojan Horse viruses. Upon further investigation by a real expert, I discovered that all of those "error files and folders" are ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL for the operation of Microsoft 7. I had to do a complete System Restore to undo the damage.

Iyogi promised to refund my money. After over two weeks, I have yet to see a refund. I have contacted them 4 times now and get the same answer, "your refund has been processed, but I don't know what happened, you will get it in 72 hours.

Save your time and money

This is the worst most dishonest and fraudulent company I have ever dealt with. I called for a simple problem and was informed that I needed to buy a warranty for four incidents. I did so. They never solved the problem. When I had a second incident they claimed the first contract only covered one incident. They then sold me a three year contract with all sorts of outlandish promises of free Microsoft software etc. When I questioned the promises and warranty I was told that the call was being recorded so I had no risk. When I tried to collect on the promises they said they could not find the recording and canceled my contract.

Beyond making fraudulent promises any call I made took a minimum of one hour and the people I spoke to were polite but incompetent.

This company and anything they sell is a scam.

Between my husband and myself we spent 10 hours in front on the computer in one day. BEWARE! Don't waste your time. We went 5 full days without internet access or removal of our viruses. 3 return phone calls with an appointment also to no avail. This is a rip off. Also be informed that is you have Shield Deluxe, change your antivirus software. This is the company that recommends iyogi.

IYogi says it will help remotely solve PC problems, and charges $139/month. I had to try 3 times (with 3 different people) to get their remote access to work. Then 1.5 hours of my time later, and speaking with 4 different people (each of whom needed my account #, security question, email address and home ph#), the problem was still unresolved. And it was just a printer issue. Plus I got disconnected during one of the calls, and the technician did not call back--despite having confirmed my email and phone # at the start of the call.
