IXL is very stressful as IXL would take away 20 points as if were to get a question wrong. There are also some lessons that make it so you would have to type in the answer as you could be typing fast as you would get the question wrong. Some of them are super hard and some of them are really easy. To do. IXL is in a way a good way to home school but I would give it in smaller amounts if you are going to do it.

Ixl is a learning website but in my opinon ixl is a false advertiment its not even ready to be uploaded their is bugs and wrong answers and makes answer up and ruines kids enjoiment and causing depression and myself cant deal with their nonsense and the supscription is bull so if you are seeing this please contact ixl and let the clan begain

I do not enjoy IXL. I will get the correct answer and it will boost me up 1-5 points. If I get one wrong, my points will decrease by 5-7 points. This makes absolutely no sense. Why not make the points equal? This does not boost anyone's confidence. I had an exact situation when I was making a good score, then I miss one question and it goes from 94 to 79. This is unbelievable, I get so frustrated and this just piles up on my stress for school. This doesn't go only to me, this goes to all the other students who get stressed up and frustrated. I highly recommend not requiring kids to do this.

The point system goes up by 3 or 4 points when you get it right but when you get it wrong it takes you down 15-20 points Ixl is rigged and it gives me a lot of stress

There is many ways that this is a must-not app. The scoring is horrible. You miss way more points than you make with one correct answer. Take a look at how bad the app instructions are as well. They make things way more complicated than they are. For crying out loud they might as well turn counting numbers into hard algebra.

Just when you are at 98, BOOM, you get one wrong and go down 8-10 points. The rewards are also junk, i mean, nothing is more rewarding than a digital picture, right? So do not waste your money on this junk.

Writing a bad review, just to write one, at least Im not doing any harm since the reviews are already $#*! horrible, and the site is pretty garbage so it's deserving

IXL is very boring and its so-called "Challenge zone" doesn't let you stay in it! The aesthetic get's very boring after a while and the tutorial videos are not helpful at all! The explanations of why you got the question wrong are also very unhelpful. 1 star!

This crap site is so costly and not worth it. Instead of encouraging students when they get the question wrong, it does the COMPLETE opposite. Say your at 99 and you press the wrong button, it brings you down in the 80's which is ridiculous. If you get one right, it only moves you up two or three points. Also, it makes students stressed out and get anxiety. IXL says it make practice feel like play but it actually makes practice feel like a nightmare. My grades used to be high, but after I used IXL, my grades dropped down. Teachers make students use this terrible app a lot, and let me just say that everyone HATES it. As a student, I use IXL and sometimes I start crying. It makes me want to destroy the device. So every time teacher assigns me to do IXL, I don't even do it at all no matter how much trouble I will get in. Plus, I wouldn't even give it ONE star. I would give it a NEGATIVE 5 out of 5 stars.
Please, please, please, don't use this hell site unless you want to destroy your device. IXL is JUNK. This site is really bad and I think NO ONE would recommend it at all. Don't waste your money on this terrible, trashy site. It's just so f***ed up.

This is so stupid when I have used ixl it took me, HOURS to complete ONE it is the worst and it takes so much of your time. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY USING THIS APP! From kid

I am a student of bolton academy and it is taking me from the first quarter to the point where its one week till holiday break it is the worst working website I have done its got to fail in the next ten years!

Its teaching people that getting mistakes are wrong, which is NOT true. It's also really fustrating when your doing so well and then you lose 10 points from a single wrong answer. I would not recommend if you want to learn.

I find that people over exaggerate how bad IXL is. I feel like IXL is where you would go to review topics you already know and practice working on them instead of learning new topics. One downside about IXL is their Smartscore. It is a score system that changes every time you answer a question. The score will either go up after answering a question correctly or go down if you answered incorrectly. Once you reach a 100 Smartscore you finish that topic that you were working on. Problem is, after you get past 90 Smartscore, the amount your score decreases by after you get an answer wrong is too high. An example would be having a Smartscore of 94 but then answering a question wrong making the score drop to 85. This can get quite frustrating since some questions may take up to 20-40 minutes each. I can see how this might not be a bad thing ( so they can study the topic more and get less questions wrong) but I feel like it drops way to low. All I would say is, if you're going to get IXL, you better have the patience it takes to get a question wrong and work yourself all the way back up to where your previous Smartscore was. If you want to learn something though, I'd recommend Khan Academy.

IXL is a math "learning" website that only frustrates anybody who tries to use it as a helpful tool. You start off with 0% and every time you get a question right, your % goes up a little. As the questions are answered, the amount of points you get for a correct answer goes down. The bad part is that whenever you get a question wrong, your % goes down by 5-15% and you get even less % whenever you get the following questions correct. It takes every such a long time to complete only 1 lesson and by that time, I would be surprised that they even like it anymore. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYBODY! VERY POORLY MADE. Please save your sanity and DON'T try IXL out...
