Hello Everyone,
I'm a parent of two kids, both of whom use IXL for class.
IXL can feel like punishment/torture for kids who don't understand the subject. I feel like IXL is made to prepare for a test, not to learn.

It's hard to get 100; when you get a question correct, you go forward less than 5 points, and when you get a question wrong, you go back 5–10 points. They make you simplify, which is probably very annoying. The point system is unfair, and can give kids stress and anxiety, but the good thing about it is that it shows kids how bad their grades can get if they don't know a subject.

What worries me, is that my kids told me the explanations are really confusing, and you have to go to YouTube or another website to actually learn what they're trying to teach you.

My teacher uses IXL, in general I hate him, but this teacher just UGH then, omg THEN HE THROWS IXL AT US! NEXT HE MAKES US TAKE A GODDAMN TEST REVIEWING WHAT WE "LEARNED" WITH THIS SITE. Can someone help me please! I had an A in math now I have a goddamn C and my mom expects freaking As he used IXL I feel like he used it to make us feel like we're really bad at math, I'm a 7th grader in a abnormal school, what the hell is hon a get worse? I'm on my phone right now so I don't have any screenshots but the teaches say "Get 80% then you can be done," as if they think there is a certain amount of questions asked, then we're done. I swear IXL is worse than Kahoot-

It is most worst and baddest site in the world. It sucks, and I hate so much. You know you are write and says you are wrong.

Disappointed I literally never looked math as the fun same way it used to when I did this I would never do it again if I had a choice its bad for teaching

When I go to school I go eat the disgusting breakfast they have at school then I go upstairs to my classroom i git my chromebook and I go to the f'n website you call "good to learn in" if it was good I would not wright this dam review I am ten and i never say swear but this website is educational but makes me want to throw my computor half way across the room or at home, out the window this is the worst thing I have ever learned on.

I hate IXL so much, here is why-
IXL almost seems like a lazy thing for teachers so they don't have to grade papers or print worksheets. Because my teachers assign so much work for us that it's just way too overwhelming. Also the smart score... my god The smart score it's just awful and if you get a question right it only gives you like 3 or 4 points to your smart score- BUT when you get one wrong it sets you back by like 6 or 7 points! It's just not fair at all. Also, you have t get 80% or better at my school- so going back to the smart score- let's say that you are at 70% then you get like 1 or 2 wrong... in only a couple of minutes, you will be all the way down to like 50 percent! It's just not fair and that's why I and everyone in my class hates IXL.

It is very laggy and it made me have no confindence in my self :( and i hate this wedsite it did not lead me to the bathroom

Let me just say this app is great for TORTURING PEOPLE! HATE IXL I DOSEN'T HELP ME LEARN AT ALL SOMETIMES I WANT TO FALL ON MY BED AND CRY! I HATE IT SO MUCH! WHEN YOU GET A QUESTION RIGHT, 2 POINTS GAINED. WHEN YOU GET A QUESTION WRONG, 20 POINTS LOST! AND IXL MEANS "I excel" BUT YOU DON'T EXCEL AT ALL! IN FACT IT JUST MAKES ME WANT TO GIVE UP, CRAWL INTO A BLACK HOLE AND DIE!

This is terrible. You get one right towards the end and it only goes up like 2. When you get one wrong it brings you down by atleast 7 or 8. It's STUPID. Also, really big waste of time.

I have had a lot of stress using IXL! I mean, C'mon, I come out crying and just... hate'n it! Teachers, DO NOT USE IXL!

I don't hate IXL. I rate it a 4 stars for quality, 1 star for service, value and returns. It's just, well, boring. The point system isn't all that bad unless you're doing an IXL on long division.
Pro Tip: If you've practiced for two hours and still can't get 100, your teacher will see the 2 hours of practice and likely give you credit.

IXL is too much homework, stress, and many other things. Overall everything about it sucks. The fact that teachers give students work like this is disgusting. It also has a lot of stereotypes about teens and what they do. I hate IXL my parents do and overall it's just bad. As a middle school stude, I think IXL should be banned because it's a bad app, causes stress, bad education, too much homework, horrible learning, wasted time, annoying, bad point system, and so much more.

This is a great method of torture. If you child is acting up, take away their things and tell them to get 100 on any math IXL. They will experience a lot more pain, suffering, and anguish if you just take away their things for a day.
