IXL is the worst thing for students. It does not give clear data for them to learn. It lowers their self esteem and makes them hate learning. I do not recommend IXL. It does the opposite of what its made for.

I think IXL© is a scam, it has much more room for improvement it has trouble teaching you the subject.
Like when you get a question wrong it just tells you what the right answer is and instead it could do that and walk you through on how to do it. That is my opinion on ixl

You only get 2-3 points up, but when you get a question wrong it goes down by like $#*!ing 6. I really hope you $#*!ing die you ugly bastard. I really hate anyone who loves this website, I hate anyone who assigns this to students, and I hate Paul Mishkin for making this disgusting website. I wish I can give this dirty $#*! a 0 but I cant.

Ixl is super bad. Every time i need to do it i end up really mad because like, you get to 80 and then you get 1 wrong and your back to seventy. It also doesnt provide things like rulers and that stuff.

This is the best app to learn on for kids now in days teachers need to assign it more often u have the option for language arts and math so much to learn and fun to.

IXL has managed to be so incredibly bad that it causes tears, broken devices, and in some cases can help with fuel depression. They also manage to steal time and sleep from kids and money their parents and schools. IXL doesn't help with anything except make kids hate school even more. IXL has caused me to stay up very late doing homework which is not good and IXL creators know this (picture below with proof) yet they make it incredibly hard to progress. When you reach the nineties range the questions become harder and you gain 2 points for each correct answer and lose 7 for each wrong answer, they even intentualy made the point loss 7 and not 6 so that if you made it to 98 (one away from finishing) and got one wrong, you would go to 91, after you brought yourself up you would be at 99 which means that because you lost 7 and not 6 you would have to do one extra question to get to 100, which means one more chance you have of going 7 back and raging. I checked my stats on IXL and I've spent 46 hours in the past 30 days on IXL, almost 2 whole days, meaning in 2 years I would spend about a month doing IXL. So in conclusion IXL is evil, they know they're evil, and they waste away kid's lives.

IXL could be a great site but it needs major improvements in the systems. The scoring, when you get to a high score, is completely devastating and time wasting. One question wrong? BOOM now you are 8-10 points lower. As a teen who has to get 300 points per section I can say sometimes this is extremely frustrating and it has brought me to tears more then once. Next the "rewards"... I simply hate that they are called this. Nothing is more rewarding then a digital picture right? This along with the horrid scoring system makes this site pointless. But wait theirs more! Their are tons of glitches that kill your score and frustrate everyone. Also the "explanations" are often wrong or offer no learning at all. Several that i have seen just had the problem and a quick and pointless explanation of the processes and when I followed the steps on the next question it was wrong. Overall i be-leave this site has some potential but it needs lots of fixes and revisions to it.

IXL is very much rigged. When you get a question wrong your score goes down more than how much you get when you get it right. IXL doesn't engage you in learning. In fact, IXL makes you not want to learn anymore.

This does not help me learn in the slightest. It's undermining and horrid. You can answer 100 questions, and still have to keep going to get the PERFECT score. If I answer a question and it's worded differently it will mark it wrong and give no credit. Sometimes i get it half right and receive half credit(good) however, I get nothing at times even if it's completely correct. My school uses this so it's an even worse problem. This is a GRADE. I'm in highscool, ixl messing me up.

1 we should shut down IXL because of how stupid the smart score is. Some of my teacher do not even like but the school makes them use it.

Alright, ixl is tourture. Its WORSE than i ready! I waste 3 hours for a stupid lesson and all i get is a sticker!? WHAT, I WASTED 3 HOURS FOR A STICKER?! Anyways, the reveiws shown on the website are fake. And, who spends 80 dollars on this tourture device? I would use that 80 dollars for robux, or and 1980s ebay lego set? Why does this exist! Very $#*!ty, go to hell ixl.

It causes WAY to much stress and for an example, I got one correct it went up by 2. But if I got one wrong, it takes me at least 5 or 7 down. IXL should most defiantly be banned!

Ixl is a perfect example of what not to do when making a learning website. It punishes you too much for messing up once. It takes ages to get a single skill done let alone multiple, and it gets extrememly hard in the 90s and you go down more. There was once a time I spent over 1 hour on a single skill and over 100 questions. Even using google didn't help, and I am no idiot. I am quite smart., but that does not matter when it is designed in a way to torture people. It should either, give you multiple chances, or give you a redemption question thats different than the original. Not bump you from 93 to 78 from one question (that has happened to me). It has not helped me at all learn anything. All it has done is put me through hell and tell me that I have to do that again, and once I do it again they scream "Oncore."

I would rather eat a ghost pepper every day for a week straight.

In all seriousness though, all IXL does is make it stressful to do anything. All of the reviews here are right. Its horrible to make students feel bad about themselves for getting ONE question wrong and loosing ten whole "smart points". Its horrible to even be giving students "smart points" because a student with low points could consider themselves dumb which in itself is horrible for mental health. It doesn't teach you anything useful, and if you are looking for alternatives Prodigy is much better.

It is the most worst site for my child. Prodigy is teaching my kid way better than IXL. It does not teach my kid anything.

My name is Brian Jiang, and as a middle school student in FMS, I have realized that the harder the IXL question, the fewer points you get. This, along with the fact that the IXL smart score guidelines say they factor in the difficulty of the problems, is troubling. Also, IXL has a consistent number of points lost when you get things wrong. IXL is a good company with nice ideas, but, sad to say, they are poorly done and no one would want to do it except when asked to.
