I have had ipsy for almost a year now and it has been awful! At first I liked it, then I started getting things I am never going to use! I got nail polish in one bag and it was so sticky I had to throw it away. There goes all my money. Now, I have tried cancelling my subscription about 4 times and every month they still charge me $10 and I still get a crappy bag of stuff not even worth $10-especially if I never/can't use any of it! Do not get Ipsy! If they do not cancel my subscription, I will be going to a lawyer to see what can be done about this!

Ipsy was very helpful and has decent service. They are willing to help out if things go wrong and make sure that you are happy with them. The makeup is way worth it because you only pay $10 a month and get four times as much of the value for makeup. If you enjoy to try out new kinds of makeup and new brands it is a great website to use. The makeup works well and you get makeup that is close to your preferences. I would refer them to anyone who would like to try out something new and try new styles of makeup.

IPSY IS A RIP OFF!... YOU PAY $10.00, ONLY TO BE PLACED ON A "WAIT LIST"!
OHHHHH, BUT WAIT! THE CUSTOMER CAN GET OFF THE WAITLIST IF YOU MENTION THE COMPANY ON A SOCIAL NETWORK. THAT IS A BUNCH OF BULLS**T! THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY THEN DON'T GIVE YOU ANY PRODUCTS, SO ESSENTIALLY THEY ARE STEALING YOUR MONEY!

Horrible
February 23, 2015

This service is horrible. I signed up at the beginning of January and got 'wait listed'. I am currently still wait listed. It has been about 6 weeks now and I've already signed up and received my first box through Birchbox. Step your game up, Ipsy.

Good but not great
February 17, 2015

This is my first monthly subscription box, i have had it for 4 months now. It's fun and a thrill to get unexpected things in the mail, but it would be nice if every product I got was good. You usually get around 5 things including a make up bag, there is always atleast one thing that I wouldn't use. One month I got an eyeliner so dried up it didn't work. I went to ipsy because I heard of these complaints from birchbox customers and I thought could escape that but I guess not. Overall it's good and value way over the cost, I just wish they had a more direct way of contacting them, to tell them what you might want from your subscription. Seems like not enough customer support for demand. Also ipsy makes you share and like on social media to get account, I share things but have it set so that I can only see it. Great way to get around being an annoying social media poster. Overall good but can be better. Just giving the negatives of it but I do still enjoy the majority of what I get.

In the billing decription they clearly said they will only charge 11 out of 12 months a year and yet when I review my bank statements last year they actually charged all 12 months. I don't mind paying for the products because $10 really doesn't mean anything but I hate it when a business lies to me like I'm easy to take advantage of. More importantly, I am quite sure they do not personalize their bags. Im usually cool with anything but multiple times I have said that I do not want tanning products and nail polish, I work at a high end beauty salon so I would never use random nail polish and yet I got 4 tanning products and 6 nail polishes in a little more than a year. I kept reviewing every single one of those products to make sure they get the message but so far it's been hopeless.

No response on cancellation of subscription e-mail sent via the website. No return e-mail
Account billed again. I will probably go to Channel 7- on- your- side if this continues after this next cancellation request. This is ridiculous as I see others have had the same issue.

Absolutely no customer service. They don't have a phone, will not answer emails... all I want to do is cancel. Got the glam bags again this month. I am going to contact Better Business Bureau and see what can be done.

Tried to cancel which requires that you respond to a cancellation email. The email was never sent. Next month I get billed again. Try to cancel again and the system says to wait for the cancellation email and it never came. Flash forward, 6 months and 10 emails later and I still can't get them to stop sending me stuff. This is crazy.

I love my ipsy bags, for $10 a month, you get to try new products and they usually put 5 to 6 products in each bag, pretty amazing. Every month new surprises, you cant beat that, thank you ipsy.

I reviewed my items in cosmetic bag monthly with each bonus item being 1000 points and once every blue month there is a 500 point item which sells out immediately and so you loose your points as they provide nothing to redeem, I did my last review last month. B... S. They emailed me back as I complained with a boo hoo so sorry you lost your points like I was a child.

I like the bags a lot and usually you get one or two actually good things in your samples. Some are a waste, but i guess that's how it goes! I like the bags, some months they are great! Only a few times the bag was cheap looking (August 2014 was this cheap white plastic one with orange polka dots).

Anyway shipping to Canada is expensive, instead of 10$ month it's more like 20$. Not really worth it, i'll go for a few more months and probably cancel.

Would not waste your time ordering one of these bags. I recently quit my job & go to the bank to withdraw money and what i'm over drafted? From who you might ask? IPSY! BILLED WHEN UNSUBSCRIBED! & Also they refused to pay my -35$ overdraft fee & will only return the $10 if i mail back the package. Boy what a bunch of A**holes! Will NEVER be buying from that site again nor referring my friends. But i definitely will be telling my friends who use ipsy.

Love ipsy! For only ten dollars a month you get a bag full of samples and full size products. There's obviously some months that are better than others but overall I've gotten lots of nice stuff from them

I really like Ipsy
August 8, 2014

I really like Ipsy. I've subscribed to several beauty-themed monthly subscription boxes and Ipsy so far is the best of the bunch. I've received 4 monthly 'boxes' so far and they've all had at least a couple of samples that I've loved. I won't use them all, but someone I know will and for $10, it seems well-priced. My wishes:

- Every month, the samples are packed in a makeup bag that fits the theme or season. Cool idea, but I'd rather receive the option of choosing to receive the bag OR an extra sample. A bag a quarter... maybe, but a bag every month seems excessive--I just don't go through makeup bags that fast. I can't even gift them that quickly!

- I wish the site didn't seem to promise customization of items. It has a 'quiz' that personalizes selections based on your profile. It asks things like color preferences and categories of interest or disinterest, but doesn't seem to do much - or anything - with the information. They say that there are nine or so different sample bags each month, but it seems like I'm just randomly selected. These are frustrating, because the value of the bags vary--with some people receiving samples from high end brands and others receiving drugstore brands consistently. Nothing wrong with drugstore brands, but it stinks to know that you're paying the same amount as someone else and they're receiving the exotic sports car while you're driving the economy model. You know?

But, those are wishes--I like and would recommend Ipsy to any cosmetic junky.

Have updated my review as I have received many Glam Bags now and I love them! Not every product is a winner for me but I really do enjoy getting them every month. I haven't purchased lip gloss or eye shadow in months. Maybe my first bag was "meh" but overall I am very pleased.

This was my first glam bag and i have to say, i was really disappointed. I looked at some other products they had for this month, and i would have loved them, but they gave me everything i hated. I don't think they really personalize your bag, they use give it out by random.

I absolutely LOVE getting my bag! 4/5 bags have probably around $20-35 worth of makeup inside, plus the cute (but cheap) bag! It's a great deal if you're a fan of makeup and trying new stuff. I've been getting bags since their 3rd month- back when they were my glam (almost 2 years). I've had a couple with broken makeup or spilled products, which is always disppointing, but I contacted them immediately and they sent me new bags right away for those months, so no hard feelings. The only thing I have to complain about is the amount of time it takes for me to receive my bag. The charge always comes around the 1st, but I won't get my bag until around the 20th or so. They used to come between the 10th-15th. Other than that, it's like a little birthday gift every month :) Overall, the waiting list is well worth the wait for $10 a month! Love IPSY!
