I love all the things in my glam bag, i cant wait to try them all, keep them coming
I figured I'd be fair and add a review for Ipsy after leaving one for Birchbox. So far, all of my bags have arrived on time and in great condition. The value of the products has been great, so I do feel like I'm getting my $10 worth. My November 2015 bag, for example, has a value of over $34 (not counting the included monthly makeup bag) when calculating the price per ounce value of the products included, which is awesome for a $10 bag.
I do have one concern, the waitlist. You're removed from the waitlist by sharing your social media information and contributing to them via viral marketing. Not fun, and I'll admit that it annoyed me when I first signed up, so I can see how this would turn off other potential customers.
So far so good, but there's definitely room for improvement.
I subscribed to Ispy the 2nd of October and it's November 9th and I still haven't received nothing. But they didn't waste any time charing me for a bag I have to wait 2 months to get. So I checked my account to see what was going on it says still in warehouse. Idk how the hell when I should've gotten two bags by now. Sorry I'm not waiting on a 10$ bag I can go right up the road to Target and Walgreens and get the same crap the same day. Bye Felicia cancel cancel cancel.
Nice way to have them "steal" and "share" your personal information by using GUERILLA marketing. You automatically get put on a "wait list" that you can suddenly get off of by sharing all your social media, posting on YouTube, etc…meanwhile while they inundate you with marketing emails to skip said wait list or purchase their products, etc. Then you get the stupid samples after MONTHS of waiting, and most of it is crap, small samples or junk that you would never let touch your skin, let alone purchase. RUN away from this marketing scam that steals your money!
I'm extremely disappointed with this subscription service. I used to watch Michelle Phan on youtube and thought I'd give this subscription a try. If you are Canadian the whole *$10.00* does not apply. Ipsy will charge you the $10.00 and then $4.95 ontop of that to ship to you. Don't forget that does not factor in the exchange rate. Once all is said and done, this *$10.00* monthly subscription with run you up to at least $20.00 / month. Of course their deceptive marketing however does not tell you any of this. As a Canadian I found Ipsy to be extremely deceiving and will never be returning. Oh and just an fyi cancelling their subscription is probably one of the dumbest processes I have ever seen.
If you are looking for a beauty box subscription, I would stick to Birchbox. At least they aren't so deceiving with their box / monthly payment.
Oh and the products? Birchbox and Ipsy are pretty comparable so watch / read your reviews before you subscribe unless you enjoy throwing away money. :')
Maybe I'm just too picky on my makeup, but out of the 5 things in my bag, I enjoyed 2. Gave the rest away. Not worth it for the money. I cancelled, realizing I am better off choosing my own makeup.
I did not select perfume, knowing I have allergies and am SUPER finicky about my fragrance. Of course, one of the items was a perfume.
I subscribed to Ipsy after being subscribed to a lot of other boxes so the wait list was odd to me but I have social media acct I use specifically for things like my sub boxes. It keeps me from feeling like I'm harassing my friends and goes to people that are interested in sub boxes and beauty products. I've had some items I wouldn't use in my bags I save them up and donate to local ladies in need. It's 10$ so you're not really out anything.
Once again. This company will keep billing you long after you try to cancel. Over charge you as well. When you do cancel they will wait until they can charge you 1 or 2 more times before they will stop. WORST COMPANY EVER DEALT WITH.
******* MASSIVE SCAMMERS *******
I don't understand I've been a member for 3 months now and have paid for all of them and I have yet to receive my first bag yet. At this point I'm going to wait this month out (because I already paid for it) and if it still hasn't come in canceling my membership and asking for my money back!
It's one this if I just didn't like the product, but straight up stealing my money is not going to fly well with me!
I have been subscribed to IPSY for over 2 years on and off. I get a lot of products I don't like many times throughout the year despite giving back feedback and doing the profile. I am tired of giving away 2/3 of my bag. The samples can be from any brand which I like but wish more international brands would come on board.
I really liked my first bag, I will use all the products I got. I can't wait till next month.
I just received my first glam bag today. I was eagerly awaiting its delivery and actually checking the mail depot every day, we don't have door delivery anymore in Canada. I did my research, looked at tons of happy customers with their glam bags displayed and read reviews saying that people were charged long after cancelling. When I called them on the "wait list" being social media blackmail, as you have to bother your FB contacts, the list disappeared. They did not address my concerns about being charged after two queries, so I am just going to contact my credit card company directly.
What did I see in the happy pics? Full sized products. What did I get? Products so small I can barely hold them and I have small hands. The only full size product was a brow pencil. Everyone who loves them says it's only 10 bucks, but I live in Canada, so with the shipping and dismal exchange rate right now, it's 20$. I can get full sized products on sale for less and get exactly what I want.
I see people saying its only 10.00 and you get what you pay for in the add you are paying for top products so its my 10.00 and I want what I paid for the last 3 months I have not receive my product and was getting charged for it and there is no number to call only email customer care well they called me 2weeks later from a private number and then they told me they were fixing the problem and they have not. I cancelled and they continued to take money until I called my bank and had them blocked. Its not all bad but the customer service is the worst yes you get what you pay for and I paid for product and I want them.
I've had nothing but good luck with my ipsy bags. I really like all the products and get excited every time I get to see what I'm getting.
I received my ipsy bag today and am very unhappy. The Meet Matte Hughes Lip Gloss was "cakey", the nail polish (black with no ingredient list), the bag is cheap looking, the lotion (no scent), and the Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion (sm. Tube was already opened). Thanks for the $10 tweezers I guess. Oh, and last month, the fake eyelashes? Lame. Started out pretty ok, but now I'm just disappointed that I fell for this gimmick biz.
My first month was september and i absolutely loved my glam bag! Im hooked! They have this wonderful moisturizer that is so good on my skin. The little glam bag is adorable and reusable for makeup storage, i just received an email saying my glam bag is on its way and i am beyond excited
I see so many reviews stating how awful ipsy is and don't like the stuff they send. I don't get it!? You pay $10 a month, what exactly do you expect? For $10 what we receive is awesome and well more than $10 worth that you receive in the bags. People who have issues with anything like skin color or hair type that they send to you wrong, then contact the customer service and let them know about it and they WILL fix it! Plus you receive and brand new bag every month which I think is amazing :) even though you get sample sized stuff I think all of the things they send is great and always different and fun, I get excited every month when my bags come. The ipsy bag is the best $10 I have ever spent! And for some reason some of you girls are expecting wayyyy to much for what you are paying for and not seeing it for what it actually is! Did you not read about ipsy before you signed up? If not then maybe you should have so then you'd know what to expect. Sure you might get some things that you don't normally use or want but that's what this is, its a bag of different things to TRY so you figure out what you like and just maybe start using something you've never used before. So, come on ladies... Get off your high horse and enjoy and if this isn't what you wanted then you should of done your research on what you were paying for in the beginning, anytime you're spending money on ANYTHING always do your research and make sure this is something you're going to enjoy using. But in my opinion I give ipsy 5 stars, no doubt! They are amazinggg!
I signed up for ipsy and NEVER received my September bag. I emailed them and was told to wait that it was on the way. I've been charged for my October bag and still haven't received my September one. Wish I could give it a zero cause I really can't review something I've never received.
Wish I had read up these reviews before subscribing. After signing up I got informed id be put on a wait list. I saw this company from a commercial on tv. Don't advertise if you don't have enough products to back it up & then to get off a wait lost, they want you to advertise for them so more people can sign up and be put on hold? What a scam. I'll stick with Birchbox.
I have been subscribed to this company for about a year and a half. Their "quiz" to determine which products they send you each month means nothing. They still send you products that you specifically say you DO NOT want. I have cancelled my subscription two months ago yet they STILL are charging me. I had to call my bank twice to get the charges disputed. They're customer service isn't too great, they only have email service; there is no specific number you can call to talk to someone. The bags themselves are extremely cheap and all of their products are extremely small. They used to have much better products but as the months have passed, they have gone extremely downhill. If I cancel a subscription, I want it to be cancelled. I do NOT want to keep being charged. I do not recommend this service to anyone at all. It truly is a rip off, it's only $10 but it honestly isn't even worth that. The bags they send are so terrible, the bags literally look like they're from the dollar store. It isn't worth your money. And to top it off, them not canceling the service when I first asked just really was the cherry on top. They've overdrawn my bank account twice now. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS SERVICE. Everyone I have talked to has said the products they send are terrible and everyone says they get products they specifically ask to NOT get. Don't waste your time or your money.

Answer: OK well it depends where you live because here in Canada it is $20ish dollars but if you live in the U.S. A then ya it's worth it. The products are really high quality and I havent had any bad products yet. But for me to live in Canada and pay almost $20 dollars, it's kind of pricey. So it really depends on you, where you live and your preferences. Hope this helped

Answer: I don't want to use glam bag anymore can y'all please cancel it for me please. Thanks
Answer: Rosi, I have been a subscriber for several months. They send samples of many different brands but not Lime Crime. Here are some of the brands: City Color, trestique, NYX, Luxie brushes, Pacifica, star looks, Bella Pierre, Dermelect, be a bombshell, dls, hey honey, Marc Anthony, Eva nyc, MOR hand creme, Clarks botanicals, Avance, epice, belif creme, REN creme, and peek, and Trust Fund. During the ten months I have been a subscriber, I have only received a handful of high end makeup samples: the Balm, tarte, and smashbox. Some people love ipsy, but my experience has shown me that a lot of times they send me products that I don't like or ones that don't match my "beauty profile". So I will probably cancel soon. The products are not counterfeit, though. If I were you, I would not subscribe to ipsy. Hope that helps! -Heather
