The first thing that surprised me about the organization was how archaic the technology is. It looks like something from 1985, but yet it's supposed to be some thing that officially reports to the court. Also, as many have also referenced these people have terrible customer service, and will give you fake violations just to get your money. Trust me. I only went with this place because of a so-called discount I got with my attorney, but I wish to God I would've just pay more money and went with somebody else because this place is awful. Awful awful. Imagine working hard and making sure you do everything right and they still pull you up on fake violations and they say well you have to pay to get it fixed even though it wasn't your fault. You pay insurance as part of your monthly lease but somehow insurance doesn't cover faulty equipment so you have to pay for it all they want is your money they have it set up in their system for the thing to show a violation every other week or so that you can come in and give them extra pay on top of what you're already paying for the device. Do not do not! Do not to go with them unless you like headaches, stress and being ripped off

The most predatory, dishonest, fee-ridden company ever!
Don't make a bad situation worse by using Intoxalock.
The representatives lie to you every single time you call them. I had a faulty device installed that was drawing 12x the amount of power than it was supposed to from my car battery. I had to pay to get it towed since it would not respond to a jumpstart. I had to pay the autoshop to fix it. In the whole process, Intoxalock charged me a lockout fee, even though I was not in a lockout -- their faulty device had killed yet another car battery (this was #2 of 4 total, going on 5). Representatives told me over and over again this money would be refunded. It was not. Now I've had my device out for about a month and they're still charging me fees. Apparently, in the fine print of a very long contract, it says you have to cancel roadside assistance separately by email. I was not aware. I was not made aware when I called to cancel my account. Last week I was told by a representative I would be refunded within 72 hours. This has not happened. Today another representative told me the 15th I would be refunded. Knowing they lie, I had her connect me to a manager who told me something completely different. She had to complete extra steps (that the rep was supposed to do, but didn't) to process the refund. Now I'm told it will be there by next week. We will see, but I doubt it.
The devices themselves drain car batteries like crazy (yes, even if you put it in "power saver mode"). Since my device was removed, my car still doesn't operate. I jumpstart it at night and it's dead by morning. Now I'll have to pour more money into this car, and meanwhile Intoxalock is still charging me.
The automated customer service menu is its own nightmare, designed to make it impossible to reach a human being if you want to accomplish anything besides learning your account balance or calibration date. It takes on average 20-30 minutes to reach someone every time I call. My auto shop experiences the same frustrating process; they hate dealing with them as much as I do.
I wish I had done more research before choosing them. They've unnecessarily cost me thousands of dollars on top of an already expensive mistake.

This is the SECOND TIME my vehicle has been completely disabled due to nothing I can control! This company has absolutely ZERO remote control of their interlock devices if you run into an issue out of your control... their only answer is "sorry, tow it, maybe we can reimburse you for your $200 tow if you email us your receipt we will "look into it."" okay, and what if I dont have the $200 to tow my vehicle? The company has been paid for their device routinely by me via autopay but you want me to TOW my vehicle because your service providers dont offer service? They try to control you using the words "state mandated."

Once again intoxalock strikes! Locked my son out once again, for no reason at all, and charged him! Crap adds up at almost $200 each time doesn't it?! Getting rich for being CROOKS! So sick to death of this crooked company and the people that own it, run it, and work it! Obviously no education or skills are needed for this job! You just have to know how to steal and be okay with it

This is the WORST company ever. Devices are difficult to use and they charge you $75 for every blow that doesn't work right (not from alcohol) and make you blow anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes while driving. Almost wrecked many times trying to get it to work.

Scam
March 30, 2023

I'm am in the city of St. Louis right now. This is my second device that has broken. I called intoxalock and the lady, that barely spoke English, said she can't help me for a week and can only tow me on that day. I am in the city. So I am waiting for a tow truck that hope he can be here by 7 pm. This company is absolutely awful. I am in a very serious situation right now.

Extortionist!
March 30, 2023

Lockout when I'm nowhere near my car is extremely unfair. Lockout because your device had a fail and then I'm charged for it? No! I decided to keep the device after court order but they make it impossible with the excessive charges that obviously are not in my control. There is a camera, investigate. I was absolutely ignored and given no empathy. Removing this week. Going to install with another company.

Company focuses on theft
March 30, 2023

The interlock will claim lockouts even after blowing 0.00. Employees aren't helpful and there's never a supervisor when you need one. This company focuses on taking your money and that's all. You will not receive any help.

Choose any other provider over this company. They do not have knowledgeable customer service personnel, you can only speak with a foreign call center who read a simple script in broken english that is of no value. As a repair center operator, this is the only system I have seen that does not have a disable feature for service and maintenance employees to use. Their solution to have repair technicians blow into the lock device each time the car needs to be moved during collision repair is not acceptable. This system should not pass regulations for any court jurisdiction. Also, this system has killed the battery of the host vehicle and requires a jump start each time the car is started as it constantly draws power. Terrible device from an irresponsible company. AVOID

Let's all file a class action lawsuit
March 25, 2023

I am writing this because as customers, we should not have to deal with this extortion and illegal money scheme. The company is not operating with integrity, they will come up with charges you never were told about, they will charge fees that seem made up. This company is a trap and they need to be reported to the US attorney for investigation for bad business practice. I live in Colorado and I am thinking of contacting the attorney General and the Iowa state government. If you read this, go with another company. If you are reading this and are doing business with them, let's all start filing complaints with the BBB and the US government or your state attorney general... This is incredible that they can get away with this illegal money scheme and prey on customers who need this to survive. They use the fact we got a dui as a reason to rake money. I don't know about you but let's shut this company down. Take logs, and record calls, gather the evidence. As Americans we do not deserve this. This company has to be the worst ever. Let's all start filing complaints and take them to court. What the hell is Hogsville Iowa? Who is the owner of this company? Can we all file a class action lawsuit? This is wrong and this company is worse than anyone. Don't give them business. Bless you all, we will get through this and take action, as customers, we do not deserve this illegal scheme. We are good people who don't deserve to be robbed. Let's take action.

I had my intoxalock transferred to my new vehicle. The intoxalock company canceled the work order that was supposed to go to my mechanic shop. Due to that the dmv never received my transfer form and revoked my license. Now I get to miss work since I can't drive, pay for my license reinstatement fee, if intoxalock ever gets the work order sent out. I have spoke to two people as of now. One hung up on me, the second being very rude. I paid my transfer fee but intoxalock never did their end of the job. I have now lost my license and possibly my job due to their mess up. Don't use intoxalock.

Edit: just got off the phone with the second guy. He couldn't even get the work order sent out. He said management is not answering their phone. So I still won't be getting my license reinstated due to intoxalock being lazy. I will be contacting the better business bureau.

This company is horrible. They don't even deserve a one star after removing my card from my account that I had closed weeks ago. Still getting charges still can't talk to a supervisor when I call had to use the service center number in order to even get through after many calls, Karen Schneider, the sales rep. Told me to call her if there were any issues and she would refund my money left her many voicemails. Talk to many people about her. Everybody told me she would call me back well that went on for many weeks. Eventually I just wrote it off but now, after closing my account and having everything removed, still being charged asked for proof that they removed my card they can't do that so we are going the legal Route. This is a scam And after you leave a bad review for them, they Sell your number And you're being harassed getting calls 10 times a day from the same person trying to sell you a protection plan for a system you don't have

Corrupt Company
March 16, 2023

Horrible horrible company, very poor customer service, and extremely corrupt. Interlock device keeps killing my brand new battery and they charge me lockout fees constantly for a dead battery? My vehicle worked very well until I had this device installed. They also want me to pay for an inspection.

Worst company ever. Go anywhere else!
March 9, 2023

These people will chase you down hard to get you to sign a lease and do business with them but after that you will not get any help from them at all. Their representatives do not know anything more than what you read off their web site. If you ask them any question at all they ignore the question and try another written down script that has nothing to do with your issue. They drag their feet for weeks while you are trying to get documentation from them to your state that you have complied with the requirement so they can get more fees, more calibrations, extend your lease etc. NOBODY will give you their full name or an extension to call them back so that their is ZERO accountability. If you email customer support all you get is an email back saying tho take questions to the chat on the web site (no other information, nothing to acknowledge your question). Once you go to the chat it says analysts are busy and it doesn't respond to you so you have to back to calling random representatives. They don't want to respond by email or chat because then you would have written evidence of what they told you.
I would pay more money to anybody else for this service if I had to do it again (I won't). These guys are bad bad news. Stay away.

I've only had this thing installed for 4 months so far. And so far i've replaced the battery, spark plugs, ignition coils, and a starter. BMW technicians told me this things is draining all the power out of my car. So I went to my service center and he told me,"That's just how it's wired and the device is working fine. Whatever is wrong it's with my car."
My car is a 2013 320i. I've had it for 4 years and not once have I had any issues. Always kept up with my maintenance, and car has always started up fine in the past. Even after taking it to BMW the only thing they saw wrong is the power being drained from my car. I've lost my job because my car wouldn't start up. This company is horrible. This device will ruin your car. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

This company is the absolute WORST. The representatives and managers are horrible to talk to when you have an issue with your device. I have had several issues with my device. First they told me I needed a new device once it stopped working. Then they told me it was the battery so I literally got a new battery and literally 2 weeks later I'm going through issues with it again. My car is not an older vehicle. It's a 2019 with a new battery and when I talk to them including a manager, they were extremely rude with no resolution. I literally only have a few weeks to go with this crap and I'm getting issues after issues. STAY AWAY!

Well. You made a mistake. Maybe multiple mistakes. So now, in the state of Missouri, you have to satisfy requirements to restrict your "privilege" to drive. And here come these dooshbaggs dangling that freedom carrot in front of your nose.
The truth? The equipment thinks that a pizza from Casey's general store is a six pack of beer. Now yer stuck in the parking lot for who knows how long. Batter life of your car battery? Plan for a new one. And don't dare put it in yourself. Oh. My favorite: it will let you start your car. But at retest, it goes WILD. It fails you so you get a "violation". So. Why did it let you start your car in the first place. And please note. It DOES track you. It DOES watch you, and it DOES record you. Why else would they have a camera?
