Straight robbery.
No one here knows how to do their jobs. You'll fight them for a month after you've finished your required time trying to get it removed. They will nickle and dime you for anything that goes wrong. Dead battery? That's $75. Replaced your battery? That's another $75. Want to have it removed? Call back in 3-4 days, repeatedly.
Worst experience with any company ever.

What a scam!
May 30, 2023

We voluntarily installed a unit in my husbands vehicle. It has been nothing but problems with random readings from 0-0.7. Apparently anything but plain water sets it off. Pizza, mouthwash, chapstick, hand sanitizer, diesel fuel, you get the picture.
Once you get the unit installed you will find a total change in the way you are treated. Their customer service staff is extremely rude. They treat you like you are a criminal and insinuate that only alcohol has set it off. Fortunately, this was a voluntary installation, so we are trying to figure out exactly what is wrong that he keeps getting random elevated readings.
What one representative says will be the total opposite of what the next one says. At one point in time I had a representative laughing at me when I was trying to let her know if my frustration and trying to troubleshoot why the unit keeps Giving anything above zero. Getting a replacement handheld to see if this one is defective, is like an act of getting Congress to pass a law.
Trying to get a hold of a supervisor to troubleshoot and also to discuss a billing problem is another matter. I think they call this the bait and switch! What they quoted from the inquiry to the actual billing amount but they are deducting every two weeks is different. They tack on extra charges that you did not agree to, tell you they will review the phone conversations, and weeks later they still "reviewing it". That don't call you back, you always have to call them and speak to the next agent, and then have to go through the whole story AGAIN, because they don't review the notes from the previous conversations.
They advised us not to sign a lease while it was being reviewed, however, they said we may experience problems with the handheld because of it. At least on this point they got it correct…It has been nothing but problems.
Thank goodness that this is not mandatory.
Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I can only imagine the frustration of customers who are Court ordered and end up getting locked out consistently, just to be charged more fees!

Horrible company!
May 23, 2023

They've owed me close to $450 for over a month now & keep telling me they'll credit it back to my card on file; they've intentionally waited until I had the devise removed, then closed my account & now won't give my money back. Customer service is awful, fees are awful, all around a horrible company. If you have to get an IID, go with Smart Start...they're a great company to deal with & they don't rip you off.

Interlock is nothing but a huge money game. They do not care about the people that have them. In fact I believe they intentionally take longer to process things so you end up having to pay more. My car has been in the shop for over a month now. Because of issues they are pretty sure was caused by having the device put in my car. Don't really know yet since they just got permission from Interlock to work on it. Even though week one I did all the paperwork that was asked of me so they me to so that the shop could get the override code. Then since I was going to miss my calibration appointment they wanted to give me a violation. Even though I started two weeks before trying to get it changed. That was two weeks ago now and I still don't know if I got it taken care of. Now my car is in the back of the shop waiting to be worked on still. The people are not helpful or even friendly and that's if they do actually answer. Horrible Horrible company

I have been requesting my $165 refund since February. Prior to yesterday I made two phone calls, after that I was unable to get through on the phone line I have sent two or three chat messages 4 emails and a text. Yesterday I finally got through on the phone lines. I was assured my refund would be processed that day and I would receive a confirmation email. The only email I received was a cancellation of my roadside which is what I got from every request by email. I called again today and now it's going to be up to 72 hours for that confirmation email for the refund even be processed this company is nothing but a bunch of thieves and I don't understand how the states that regulate this continue to allow this behavior I will be reporting them to my state and encouraged anyone else to do so.

I tried sending this via email to intoxalock, but it failed to send because their inbox is full. Pretty good indicator for how poor their customer service is.

After reading the reviews on yelp, I now understand what is going on. You want me to jump through hoops so you can keep charging my credit card. As instructed, I returned my portable device to the service center back in April. I also sent the order for removal from the judge, and I'm still getting charged. The next time my credit card is charged I will file a dispute with my bank for fraud. You will not receive another dime from me. The customer service reps are the rudest people I've ever talked to and are of no help. I have fulfilled my obligation to the state, I don't need your permission to return my portable device. I won't ever need your services again, but if anyone I know does, I will make sure they steer clear of intoxalock.

False positives
May 14, 2023

This device will fail you even though you don't drink any alcohol. I've went into a store to use the restroom to come out and have a failure then a few minutes later it passes me. Leaving a job site it failed me 3 times and locked me out for 15 minutes then on the next try it passed and was fine the rest of the day. Customer service is worthless. They read from a script and blame the problem on me for perfume, mouthwash, or hand sanitizer. I hadn't used any of these things.

SCAM
May 10, 2023

100% scam, do not get involved with this company. For 2 months I've had a device form them. 1st time they installed the wrong device and reported to the wrong state. That took a month to resolve. They pretended to fix the problem, changed the device (I paid for this with a promise they would send a check that was never sent) now they are not reporting to my home state. So for 2 months I've had and paid for a device I can not use, I would be 1/6 of the way through with this device, but now I still have my full time remaining because of these scammers.

There's a reason why they only have a one-star review they have the worst customer service. They have a system that will drain your battery and they call that a violation because they think you're tampering with it b*******. I was supposed to have it removed 11/24/2022 they supposedly sent my compliance review to the state. They told me the state denied me for absolutely no reason. I have been working very closely with the state. The state never received my compliance review from intoxalock. Intoxalock refused to send it. Intoxalock is holding my perfect record hostage. Intoxalock is making their own rules that have nothing to do with the monitoring authority. The monitoring authority are asking me to have intoxalock send the compliance review. I,the customer and the state are requesting them to send my compliance review they still refuse. They are lying they are cheating company because they don't want to lose revenue. I am hiring a lawyer to get them to do what they are legally required to do which is report to the monitoring authority. I have never been so disrespected by any company in my life.

TERRIBLE
May 2, 2023

Worst customer service I have ever had. I returned the device and kept getting billed. Every time I called they asked me for all my information, I could hear them typing and then they said that there system is down. Then hung up on me. I wish I would have read the reviews before committing to it. Completely awful. DON'T use there service.

They are horrible! I would never recommend. No supervisors. Customer service is rude. The device is garbage, and was installed in my car without my permission (doesn't matter why). Point is I should have had to agree to have this in my car. It's not even for me!

Crap.
April 28, 2023

If I could give it less then one star I would. Ever have someone cuss at you on the phone because they refuse to answer which one of their employers messed up? Call intoxalock. Wanna be charged hundreds of dollars to put the device in, get extensions, and have it removed because you can't afford it anymore? Well intoxalock will gladly charge hundreds more for not being able to afford the extra fees, good luck.

Fraud
April 26, 2023

These people promised me in our inititial negotiations and contractual agreement that I would receive a $300 rebate. After I signed up and requested the refund they began to require forms to be completed that I did not have and then did other delaying tactics. They have tried to amend our agreement to it being only a $100 rebate. Also they have had their machine violate me three times that has absolutely nothing to do with the presence of alcohol (only systemic issues of breath readings) such as violations during short trips to the grocery store because the machine arbitrarily decides on a rare "retest" instead of a "restart" notice after the vehicke is shut off and I have exited. They charge $75 dollars each time for that. Fraud. I believe that they believe that they can do this because the state is threatening us with severe criminal penalties if we remove their extortion device from our vehicles.

First of all, this place has the absolute WORST customer service! The woman are worse then the men that answer, the woman, every single one I've gotten, are $#*!es. No one at this company gives a crsp about how ridiculously expensive it is and they will not work with you or help you if you can't make a payment! And it has caused so much issues with my battery, numerous times I got stuck with dead battery bc it will drain it fast. I could go on and on about all the bad things but the better question would be, what's good about interlock, answer is not a damn thing@ please spend money at another company

Horrible people
April 7, 2023

They prey upon your situation. Not once did I drink and drive but received 7 or 8 violations. Which cost $105 each once you go to deal with the lock out. They have faulty equipment and is the greatest side hustle I have ever seen. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAQUE! They are a blood sucking leach attached to your bank account.
