Incompetent SCAMMERS
January 8, 2022

Where to start with this awful company? I was to have a 3 month lease with a calibration due every 30 days. They set it up for 6 months, with calibration every 60 days. I had to call them each time to get the calibration at 30 days and the service shop would never get their work orders, either. It's very hard to get anyone on the phone and when you do, the customer service is absolutely terrible. They'll tell you they sent the work order when they didn't, they'll tell you that you need to talk to another department, they'll tell you to email a support address (that NEVER responds to your email by the way)... they are just TERRIBLE. They were charging me for some sort of roadside assistance and even though I got the device removed Nov 1, they've continued to charge me for this service I never asked for. The lease ended and I don't have a device in my car! What on earth are they even charging me for?! So, I charged back their fees with my credit card. Today I got notified that I owe them $39 immediately and it is considered "past due." $30 is a chargeback fee! If they think they are going to see even a single penny from me, they are dead wrong. If they try to charge my card, I will charge that back as a fraudulent charge. These people are THE WORST. And at least in my area, I really didn't get much of a choice as to who to go with. AVOID INTOXALOCK!

And the device is terrible. It's this big huge and heavy clunky box, the mouthpiece is always falling off, it incessantly beeps at you and will even honk your horn if you don't blow into it within a minute (even though it says you have 5 minutes to re-test). The rolling re-tests are required far too frequently and trying to blow into that thing the exact way you had to not to fail it was tiring and painful and I don't even know how it can be safe to drive when you have to do that every 15-22 minutes.

Do not go with this company! Also, I will absolutely reach out to a lawyer and the BBB if they continue to harass me for money to "close the account" when the account was already closed over 2 months ago! STAY AWAY!

Trash company
January 7, 2022

This company is absolute garbage. On top of scheduling an appointment, confirming it, then telling you it was never scheduled and you having to pay double the original amount because of their screwup. You will have random people calling you from multiple numbers and texting you, each with a new a different story, no one is communicating right. Then on top of that they tell you they notify the DMV every 15 minutes, well don't trust that, because they don't. I got my license suspended because they lied and straight up never notified the DMV after going through so much to get this installed for double the original price. They will stop providing good customer care after the thing is installed, because they don't care about you now, on top of that an extra $250 in random fees. DO NOT go through them, trust me. Garbage

Roadside Assistance Fee: $4.00 (every two weeks)
Sleeve Lease Fee: $1.09 (every two weeks, It's the foam rubber sleeve the unit fits in, Probably cost $2.00.)
Device Protection Fee: $5.00 (every two weeks)
Lease fee $49.04 (every two weeks). Note that they do not charge for a month. The every two weeks thing give them a 13th payment every year.
Many other fees. These things should give you soem idea of what kind of company this is. Many other operators to choose from.

Worst company
January 3, 2022

I have called this company several times regarding problems with my account including some false lockouts and roadside assistance that I never used. When driving home from KC after Christmas the device ruined my car to the point it randomly shut off twice. When i called to set up my removal i was informed i would be charged 70.00 and when I asked why and i should not be charged for it, I was cussed out and screamed at. I called on January 3rd to ask for an email that my probation officer could get the documents sent to her on the tests that were taken while the device was on my car. I was told completely different information than I was told when I called December 26th. I was told I called and refused to pay them to have the device removed and cancelled the appointment on December 31st. I never called them that day. I was told on December 26th that the 70.00 charge for the device would not be charged and all I would have to pay was the automotive company to remove it. They had to call the company that is removing it to set the appointment up again on January 3rd. I would highly recommend NEVER using this company if you don't have to. Their customer service representatives are rude, liars and have poor customer service skills and this includes the managers. I had to fight to just get the information I needed to give to my probation office for 20 minutes once the device was removed. They will refuse to give you the court required information you need to get from them when you are eligible to have it removed.

ZERO STARS
January 3, 2022

If I could, I wouldn't leave any stars. This company is only after your money. DO NOT CALL them & give them your information, they steal your money off the bat & you'll never be able to get ahold of them again. I have tried calling for weeks, multiple times & still have not gotten my "REFUNDABLE deposit" back. Customer service will take FOREVER to answer you as well. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!

After 2 years when it was time to get it removed all the sudden my device went faulty and I was told that I was in violation and they added 6 more months to my time. I have yet to read one good review as I'm sure your are seeing for yourself. The bbb needs to shut them down... it's a complete money scam. One of the biggest rackets out there and no one even cares...

Fine until removal time
December 29, 2021

Intoxalock was great when it came to getting me set up for the installation, and the device itself was fine once I got the hang of it and was careful, but when it came time for removal, I was hung up on, unable to be helped over their chat feature, and despite it being almost two weeks after I was eligible to get my device removed, wouldn't send a work order to my service center to get it out.

Since I was authorized by my monitoring authorities to get it removed, called and verified that with them, and have my certified driving record proof that I no longer need the device, I got it removed, and now my service center is peeved because they can't close out the device since Intoxalock didn't and wouldn't schedule my removal even when I tried calling, was then hung up on, tried the chat feature (and was told to call the number where I was hung up on) and on their website their "device removal request" apparently doesn't work. Now I'm probably going to get hit with extra fees because I didn't wait for them even though I was given the go ahead by my monitoring authorities and the IID requirement for me ceased on 12/17.

Worst company ever
December 27, 2021

If I could give them negative stars it would be better. This company is a scam. They will overcharge you are rude as hell. The guy who works in accounting will get you mostly through then hang up. Do yourself a favor and go with any other company. You will highly regret if you ever have to deal with this company. I already called the bbb and will continue to find places to let everyone know how terrible this company is. If you do go with them don't give them an account to auto draft from. Over two and a half years they double charged me 12 times.

Still charging fees after device removal
December 27, 2021

They tried to scam me out of two $75 lockout fees while I had the device (car was being serviced both times, and Intoxalock had been properly notified). Now, over 3 weeks after the removal of the device and the closure of my account, Intoxalock is still charging me a "Roadside Assistance Fee". I find this criminal, given that they never provided me with any assistance whatsoever, roadside or otherwise, nor did I ever request any such assistance from Intoxalock. Buyer beware. I do not recommend. If you have any other option to using Intoxalock whatsoever, even if the non-Intoxalock option includes jail time, take the non-Intoxalock option.

DO NOT RECOMMEND
December 22, 2021

If I could rate this company less than 1 star I would. This device looks like it's from 1980s. It is faulty. You have to blow into this device EVERY day or it will eat your battery. I have gone through 3 batteries so far where it completely drained it. I could have the car jumped so on top of price of tow, new battery - they also charge &150 and count as a violation. In addition no one with customer service can help at all or speaks English. The whole reason I even chose this company is because the location of the servicer and I went in to get it calibrated and they told me they no longer were servicing Intoxalock and couldn't tell me who was… I
Am writing my lawyer now to see if I can switch places
That's how terrible this company is. I don't know what I was thinking I've lost so much money and am scared this
Faulty device is
Going to get me more time.
This place is AWFUL

The first week, my machine malfunctioned. I was stranded in the middle of the road. The so-called roadside assistance people couldn't find a tow truck. I found and paid for one myself. It cost me 212.28 dollars and two days of my time to resolve the problem. I did all the work. More than two months later I'm still trying to get reimbursed. With a company like this, I definitely don't have confidence. I will be searching for a new service. One that actually cares for the clients who pay their salary

I would give zero stars if I could. I have to go to court to face a possible license suspension of ten years because I had alcoholic car wipes in my car that created a false positive breath sample. I called in to their customer service at the time the device was giving positive breath samples. So I called in to try to obtain voice recordings which could help me with my case as the breath samples were. 255 and I was on the phone troubleshooting with them coherently. They said I need a subpoena. I talked to my lawyer who said you cannot get a subpoena from a hearing officer. So I have no access to evidence that could save my license. I also called for a complete device violation record for which they charge me 25.00 dollars for. I have only been a customer for 9 months. I used to have Draeger interlock from 2013-2016 they gave me a device violation record for free, 2 years worth and I haven't been a customer of there's for 5 years! This company has left a worse taste in my mouth than any other company I have dealt with. Have had about 6 lockouts or so in 9 months. I had Draeger for 21/2 years with no issue. The only reason I didn't go back to Draeger is because they are longer available in my area.

I am completely aware getting 2 DUI's while under age was my fault. My DUI's were now about 8 years ago. In order to ever have a license again i have to have this bull$#*! device in my car for 5 years. I've almost completed 2. I've gone through 4 batteries, 2 alternators, had to get my car towed multiple times. Most of the people on the phone don't know what they're talking about. You're constantly on hold. It seems no one in this situation is on your side. No one wants you to win. No one wants you to have the option of getting a license back to make your life better. Its absolutely terrible. They just want your money and your sanity. In 2 years i've had to put at least 10,000 into this and thats not including the 15,000 i spent on my attorney, classes, and court fees 7 years ago. Lesson learned not to drink and drive A LONG TIME AGO. I just want my life back, this is horribly depressing. I question my existence everyday and i blame intoxalock and the system we live in.

Dangerous
December 11, 2021

After 6 months of blowing in the device every 15 min. I can say it is very driver distracting. How I made it 6 months without an accident, only God knows. Then you not only have to blow in, but you have to inhale your own carbon monoxide waste, and all the bacterial waste. I contracted bacterial pnuemonia, and feel it was from the intoxalock device. You dont have time to brush your teeth between blow/inhale, and mouthwash causes it to fail. I am presently trying to find others who have gotten sick to join in a class action suit. Not quite over the sickness, but hoping this helps others to beware.

Greedy company
December 11, 2021

This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are only focused on getting money. My wife had to have this device on her car even though she didn't drink but that a different story. This device failed me even though I have never drank alcohol in my life and they still charged us a failed test fee. But the absolute worst part is my wife passed away while the device was still on the car. I sent them her death certificate and they still charged me the monthly fees and re calibration fees after her passing. I finally just removed the device myself. They still call wanting the missed payments. All of this after one of their reps told me I wouldn't be charged anymore since my wife died. Intoxalock is the WORST company. Greedy pieces of garbage.

Go somewhere else! After you pay them they act like they don't know how to answer your calls or questions and they are always hanging up on you! It's so hard to get someone to talk to you who speaks and understands ENGLISH! Why am I pressing one for English to get someone who doesn't understand a syllable I'm saying….
