We monitor reviews for authenticity
I had just set up a second job listing and was in the process of reviewing the first job listing I had set up. However, not long after I had received a suspension email from Indeed compliance stating that I had
Breached "Indeed's quality standards". Upon requesting review of my account, they had asked me for proof
"To verify your account, we would like for you to provide documentation relating to your company. Please provide us with a photo of one of the following items:
Certificate of Incorporation
GSTIN -- Goods and Services Tax Registration Document
Utility Bill that contains both your company name and address (Electricity, Internet, etc.)"
I had first provided a copy of the company's water bill, with its Company name and Company address. However, I had a response stating that it wasn't valid. The second time I tried, I provided a copy of the most recent water bill, most recent electricity bill along with license to trade as a company. Again, I had the exact same response from Indeed compliance, stating that it wasn't valid, with no additional information on how I could assist.
Note, my documentation provided of the electricity and water bill were photographs of the paper version, whilst license to trade was digital. I had even made a conscious effort to circle where it stated the company name and address. Quite appalling from Indeed I must say!
EDIT: And just as I had finished this poor review, when I asked for additional information on how I could better assist to unsuspend my account, I was sent a confirmation of account suspension without even trying to properly review my suspension.
I have a small company, I was seeking for 2 trainees to recruit. In fact, my account was deactivated. They offered me an opportunity to appeal and issued me a normal e-mail to tell me that I was a pyramid.
I built up another account, with an apprentice role different. You have disabled my account as a pyramid system using the same basic email. I supplied further details and broke my business the second time. Still they dismissed.
It took a long time, but worse, they never researched anything.

As a small business owner, i recently post positions on indeed, and today they blocked me. "Your account has been disabled".
For WHAT? "not consistent with Indeed's quality standards." WHAT standards? They won't tell.
But over all Indeed is a best platform for employers and employees.

Indeed has cornered the market almost entirely for resume's.
If you aren't using indeed, your business will suffer. Recruiting has been monopolized almost entirely from this company in the past 5-years.
They are predatory in nature. You can see this every time you place an advertisement on their website. They will highlight, and draw your attention to their paid options, while minimizing and changing the sides where the opt out button is located.
If you run a free account, they will flag your ads for no reason. Over and over again.
You will have to supply them proof every so often. They will tell you that no one is available to unflag your account for a week, but if you sponsor it will happen immediately.
This company only cares about nickel and diming you at every corner. During a global pandemic, where staffing has become critical, this company would rather lose your business entirely by employing their predatory tactics, then building a relationship with potential clients.
All recruiters need to take note, and stop using this company for their recruitment efforts or we will very quickly see a middleman between us and people, that charges exorbitant rates.
How can a small business survive when you're forced to pay 2-4k a month in indeed fees? Something needs to change. Governments should be lobbied against these criminals.

I left an honest review for a company that I worked for almost 10 years. Review was rejected for no reason. It did not contain anything on the list of their reasons why it couldn't be posted, so unfortunately I cannot trust Indeed when it comes to reviews. I will be using more legit websites, such as Glassdoor.
Hi Bella, thank you for reaching out. All reviews on Indeed company pages are subject to a moderation process. The reviews are only removed if they do not abide by our posting guidelines. We have sent you a private message to learn more about this situation and how we can help.
Indeed disabled my account, and gives no explanation. Indeed advertises how they are helping build America back after the pandemic, however, it appears if you are a small business that does not have a big hiring budget, you don't get to create jobs in your community. They could at least inform us why they are disabling our account.
Hi Rica, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. All accounts on Indeed, sponsored and non-sponsored, do go through a standard review process. If additional information on the business is needed during this time, the account may be disabled. We do see you were able to appeal this decision and your account is currently verified and accessible. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Very bad always trying to post a job and they deleted it and disable my account its losing time with them
Hi Alaa, we are very sorry to hear about your poor experience with Indeed. We have sent you a private message to further assist.
As of today, there hasn't been any movement with my account. An indeed rep for sitejabber (assuming a real person, not a bot) sent me a message on this site instructing me to send my company's tax form to them as well... even though I had already submitted this sensitive document to Indeed's customer service email address. Again, no response from Indeed at all. I am seriously concerned that such sensitive data (a company's tax information) is being requested and am becoming concerned that perhaps Indeed is data-mining since no real identity (person) or agent number is attached to their emails. I think we should be asking for THEIR tax information to prove Indeed is authentic.
I am an Agreement Manager for a company who manages a large area of provincial parks. The staffing levels for our company is over 200 people. Today, Indeed disabled my account without explanation. This is extremely frustrating for not just myself, the company I work for but also any potential candidates who have applied because I cannot contact them to explain why the job posting instantly disappeared! This really reflects poorly on us as an organization. Indeed needs to take a close look at their policies and procedures and come up with a better solution than randomly blocking legitimate companies and leaving no explanation for the potential employees who are trying to contact said companies. Very poor company policy on their part!
Indeed is a scam beware. We have been trying to post jobs for summer in order to help us run our programs. Indeed keeps disabling our accounts without giving us a proper reason. Every time they disable us and we are running out of time. We are a legitimate business in Victoria and this has been super frustrating. Don't bother with Indeed. Every time we appeal we get a generic bot answer. A joke of a company.
Hi Leo, all accounts and jobs on Indeed go through a standard reviewing process before they can become fully active on our site. At this time we have sent you a private message with additional details on next steps.
So I create this account few months back had all sponsored jobs paid bill for May 121$. Then suddenly account went under review as they suspected it's compromised.
I call customer service multiple time and they gave me saw scripted story it's been reviewed and will be active meanwhile I need to share company incorporation certificate. Which I did. Guess what the next mail I get after few days is account disabled due to job post not been as per standard.
You guys are just wasting time and money. Worst customer and I incurued 100$+ for 6 jobs where 60+ candidates were approcahed and all of a sudden we are gone as a company.
Hello Arslan, thank you for reaching out. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message. Please follow up with us there if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Out of the blue my company account has been disabled without any warning or reasoning. I have tried to contact customer service but they were unable or unwilling to assist me. I have hired many employees off of indeed within the last two years with sponsored job postings as well. To have this done at a critical time where I need to hire additional delivery drivers is completely disappointing. I am a private contractor for FedEx Ground, many of us use or used indeed but it looks like that will have to change.
Hi Barbara, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. We do see that you have been in contact with our team via email. We have also sent you a private message to assist you with this situation. Please feel free to follow up with us there.
I have been using indeed for about 2 years now and have had great success with hiring my employees from the site. I am a small business and it can get kind of hard hiring so indeed was a great site for me. During Covid we were forced to close our store down for a few months and a few of the employees quit. Once late summer came around our store opened up again and so we did another ad on indeed looking for new employees. Most of the people that emailed us were not what we were looking for and the ones that were what we were looking for would never email us back. We would set up interviews and they would either not show up or ask to be paid in cash because they did not want to lose their unemployment. So for months we were not able to hire anyone and we were forced to keep renewing our ad. At one point indeed removed our ad saying that we had to now pay around $12.00 per application and we did for around a day or two and then we turned it off. A few weeks later they disabled our account and when we asked why the account was disabled we got the same respond that most people get "Thank you for contacting Indeed. We have reviewed your account and have found it to be unsuitable for Indeed.
For your reference, we have linked Indeed's Terms of Service and Job Posting Guidelines."
The best part of that email was when they state "No further action is required on your part." I thought that was funny. Thanks!
We have a small retail store that sells collectibles and comic books. I looked over at the terms of service and we can not find anything that we did wrong.
Has anyone here been able to get their account open again with indeed?
It would have been nice if Indeed just informed us what we did wrong and allow us to correct the issue, but all we got was that general email that does not explain anything.
Thank you for all the help and I hope everyone is happy and safe out there!
Hi Doug, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. All accounts on Indeed go through a standard reviewing process. During this time, your account may be disabled if additional information on the business is needed. Unfortunately, Indeed has fully reviewed your account and we are unable to show your listings on the site. Indeed or Publishers may reject or remove any Job Ad, and Indeed may disable any Employer’s account, for any or no reason without notice. Although Indeed may indicate why a job or account has been removed or disabled, we cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest.
Like many other reviewers, our account was disabled without any conversation or reasoning as to why. We have been using our account for over 3 years without issues - and this is the treatment we receive. We have reached out to our Dedicated Specialist, Client Success and Director of Inside Sales both of whom can do nothing to help us. We filed an appeal 5 business days ago, but have not heard anything back. This is the most ridiculous process I have ever experienced and has basically kneecapped our organization from helping our clients. I can't believe that Indeed has the ability to do this and worse, they still have our credit card on file. If anyone at Indeed is reviewing this - here's a hint - maybe call your paying clients first to discuss the issue with them prior to just disabling their account. This is a shameful way to run a business.
Hi Shannon, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. We do see that our internal team sent an email on 6/1 with the next steps for your account. We advise checking your inbox or spam folder for this email and following up directly with them.
Standard Estate Agency job advert. Took payment for 2 weeks. Then disabled saying didn't meet standards.
Hi Andy, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. We do see that your account was going through our moderation process and was disabled on Monday. However, the account has since been reinstated and the decision was communicated via email. We apologize for the inconvenience of this process.
Indeed disabled my employer account, asking I sent in a proof of company registration and insurance for the company. I immediately sent in same. They came back to me saying the document submitted didn't meet their requirement. I wouldn't know what document they expect I send more than our Company registration certificate. The deactivation of my account came when I complained indeed took over £200 out of our company account fraudulently, a manager in this business mentioned they were going to look at this for me with a view to issuing a refund after investigation, no such investigation, nobody got back to me, no refund. All they did was disable my account. I have urgent role to fill, they are going to cost me a lot as if I don't fill the role, I lose customer! Terrible thing to do to anyone!
Like others here, we are a small company. I posted our job (a job that was verbatim posted to another site and accepted) and our account was suspended without explanation. Indeed did, of course, charge our credit card and they are preventing us from accessing information on those who did apply. We will be contesting that charge with our credit card company. Stay away from Indeed.com.
We created jobs with indeed, and they disabled it. We showed proof of phone bill and also our documents to show that we are a legit company. They responded by saying that "my request may require further specialized attention" and to check with the Help Center. They're never transparent about what is needed, nor do they actually communicate with you. Instead a standard email is sent and you have to call them and be on hold for 30min or longer just for them to tell you that they will send over your concern to the search quality team (who will get to it when they feel like it). Indeed takes way too much money for the service they provide. I would expect your account to be disabled and to have no one contact you after to clearly lay out what is needed. Horrible service and a decent competitor needs to be out there to take them out.
Hi Joseph, all accounts and jobs on Indeed go through a standard reviewing process before they can become fully active on our site. At this time we can confirm your account is fully active and you should be able to log in with no issues. We apologize for the inconvenience of this process.
I have been using indeed in my previous jobs to post job vacancies and it worked well and we were able to hire 3 people. So I thought of using it again in my new company which is a start-up. I submitted the job post for review but then the following day I found out that the new account has been deactivated. Don't know why.
Hi Carmencita, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. It appears that your account is just going through our standard reviewing process and more information on the business is needed. This is done with all accounts on Indeed. To appeal this decision please log into your account and choose "appeal this decision".
I would give them zero stars! We had a paid account for over 4 years and all of a sudden Indeed closed our account. They asked us to provide proof of who our clients are which we provided them with (Big mistake) because now it has been brought to our attention that their salespeople have contacted our clients directly and offered for them to place their jobs on indeed directly! If you are a recruitment agency BEWARE of Indeed, they will steal your clients!
Hi Jess, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. We would like to learn more about this situation and have sent you a private message. Please feel free to follow up with us there.
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.
Answer: Hi Sarah, we're sorry you haven't heard back from employers when submitting your resume on Indeed. We'd be happy to assist you here in reviewing your resume and offering suggestions for applying to jobs on the site. Please email us at [email protected] with a link to your Indeed Resume or document so that we can review. Thank you.
Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
