The company's reputation reflects a mix of strengths and weaknesses. However, there are significant concerns regarding customer service, particularly related to shipping issues, inadequate support, and challenges with returns. IFixit used to provide excellent repair guides. But they've become needlessly convoluted. Including steps for strange, unnecessary procedures, for otherwise simple repairs. Browsing YouTube for alternatives, you can find much more helpful, straightforward instructions. I can think of no logical reason for iFixit to recommend so many steps for otherwise simple repairs, except maybe it's a way for them to make money on parts. The photos are still helpful though. High resolution, to clearly see the tiny connections and such.

IFixit sells overpriced, substandard batteries. Furthermore, the company does not stand behind their warranty, and will not refund customer charges unless forced to do so. Even then, iFixit will charge mysterious, hidden fees so as not to return all of a customer's money.

I was once a big supporter of iFixit. But that was then, and this is now. I still use a toolkit I bought from them. It's excellent. But buying more stuff from them now? NO WAY!

New Lap Top that I purchased intending on up grading the SSD and RAM. Consulted a friend who owns a technology repair and support business. He advised me to get the proper tools from IFixit.com BEFORE I messed things up. Watched several YouTube presentations. Ordered an entry level tool kit from IFixit.com.

Kit has all the Torx drivers plus plastic pry devices needed to get safely inside the computer. The tool case is really first rate. Just begs you to put everything back in place so it is ready for the next project!

Dissapointed
April 28, 2021

I have to say that I am disappointed. I wanted to love iFixit as a company, but after purchasing several MacBook batteries for them to replace my original one that failed, I can't say that these are quality products. I know that they just don't make things like they used to (I got very lucky in that my original mid-2011 battery lasted me for almost 8 years), but after initially buying a battery from them, it swelled up and died in less than a year. I contacted them and after running different tests, they promptly replaced it as they agreed it was defective/it was still under warranty. This was great! However, the replacement battery has now started to have issues after about a year and a half of use. I have done the same diagnostic tests that I did for my original one and can confirm I will indeed have to replace it again... But is this really life now? Will I just be buying replacement batteries every 1-2 years? I heard good reviews about this company and expected more. I don't feel it's unreasonable to expect a product to last more than 2 years, but if it is... yikes: -/

I bought one of their products after watching my Favorite Tech Tubers for years. Will definitely buy their products again. Excellent quality, like I mean the build quality is top notch.

Customer Service at iFix it has always been the best. I have done quite a few apple repairs and I will only shop at fixit. If you spend your time opening and repairing something, you want the replacements to be the best available. Videos are a great help also. Last customer service, Matt, has been A++ and understanding. I promise you, you won't regret ifixit and will become a loyal customer. Thank You, Matt

December 6, 2020

Got a few things from the site and one of the items came in and the writing pen was damaged. I got a recommendation to try to fix the pen. Did not work and then sent me a new one. I honest can't say much more the customer service cause it was great and easy.

Nice tools.
November 30, 2020

They sell some nice tools for fixing phones, PCs, iPads, Macs, and a whole host of other products along with their repair guides. Sometimes a bit pricey but overall really interesting people.

Easy Peasy! The only challenging part was the battery connector was a press fit from the top down. As soon as I figured that out, it was a breeze. My little computer booted right up!

I had been delaying replacing the battery in my MBP because it is the glued in type. Finally bought the kit and swapped it. It went very well and the kit included everything needed, including a pair of safety glasses. Overall the procedure took about 20 minutes- most of that was cleaning off the old glue residue with the left over solvent - be sure you have some left for that stage.

New battery is great- I didn't realize how much ch the old one has puffed up impinging on the track pad- It's like a new laptop now.

Tip- I used some dental floss to gently saw through the the old glue to speed up the process- but I could have been too impatient. Place the floss under each of the cells and slowly move it back and forth to the front of the laptop.

Tip 2- Place the far end of the laptop on something to elevate it to help the solvent move through the glue. Just a few centimeters/inch is enough.

Overall good kit.

My phone started pressing random buttons and kept calling my emergency contacts and I had no control over it. Being unemployed, I decided to go ahead and try to fix it myself. Instead. I followed all the instructions and my phone is still spazzing out and I can't afford to return the equipment they sent because thats going to cost more money and I more than likely will not get anything out of it anyhow. So long story short I just threw away $100+ and still have a phone that won't work which is just perfect since everything I do for college generally requires that I use a phone.

I just bought the big tool kit with the extra addon manta tool kit. I love the quality of the tools and was very happy with what I got. However, my biggest and only complaint is that I had to pay nearly $62 for shipping on my order. That nearly made me not purchase it but in a moment of weakness, I went ahead with it. BUT not before doing other searches for the kit including an Amazon search. This is a great tool kit but the amount I had to pay for shipping was beyond rediculous for a package that small. I can send an entire desktop computer from NC to FL for $30. But for some rediculous reasons, I had to pay $62 for them to ship this tool kit from California to North Carolina. That is a rediculous amount to pay for shipping on such a small package!

Just what I needed
August 2, 2020

I ordered the essentials tool kit to replace the SSD drive in my MacBook Air. The kit had more than I needed to do the job and those extras will come in handy as I do other repairs on stuff and things. The instructions on the site were complete and accurate and it took about 10 minutes to do the replacement and about an hour to reboot and reload most of my OS and data. This kit and site are a good starting point for any repair.

Sunil and his team are true professionals. He provided great directions to his shop, and patiently waited for my arrival. Once I arrived I was greeted with a masked smile (Covid-19 joke), and he listened intently to gather the details of my requests. The environment was clean, attractive by site, and generally comfortable. All the while, I was catered to for water, welcomed and directed to a clean restroom, and pleasantly entertained by an awesome 'Country & Western' playlist. Sunil and team provided me with an excellent and prompt, 'Customer Service and Knowledgeable Experience'. I will continue bringing my business here.

I use my old iPhone 4s for my extensive iTunes library and it had stopped charging. After trying every fix I could find online, I knew the battery had died (it was 9 years old). I received my iFixit replacement battery and tool kit within two days of ordering! I watched the guide video a few times so I knew what to do. The hardest part was getting the screws back in as I have little to no closeup vision and had to rely on my reading glasses. But it worked and the phone is now charged 100%! The replacement task was a bit stressful, but for $16+ I have no complaints! Thank you, iFixit!

Ifix it ltd
May 14, 2020

Ifix it ltd is not a proper company if you buy anything from them you get damaged goods and definitely no refund back and you will get a private number call on your mobile it's the seller who then will abuse you and then say don't ever buy anything from me because of the feedback I gave as a true buyer you can't get hold of then even if you message them or contact them you you won't get any reply back unless you give a negative feedback and then you will get an abusive phone call on a private number on your mobile from the seller at the end of the day as a buyer you lose out no refund stay well away from this seller and the company worst company I have ever done business with never again

Rating: the highest number is a five. If I could, I would like to have been able to extend that number to a 10. So CONGRATULATIONS to IFIXITusa for bringing onto your service the exceptional team originally with "Computers and?", Phoenix location. I have known this team for several years and wanted to let you know, this is the only Computer repair team that I have dealt with including repairs and updated computer purchases. Yes, at first, I did check other Computer Sales/repairs and finally felt I did not need to check others. They are honest, reliable, able to explain in my knowledge learning level.
One challenge for me is, I came from the age of typewriters so computers are a fairly new one for me and don't have much experience with the technical issues. However, while discussing the various items, I always felt at ease discussing the various options to better understand the end result.
One thing for sure, in all the time I came in for repairs or upgrades with them I NEVER felt like they were trying to upsell, or add on more than necessary repairs to make more money as many other large Computer Sales/repair tend to do.
The team consists of Sarkes, Joe 1, Joe 2 and Matthew. So, give them a call and see for yourselves.
