I ordered the iPhone 12 Pro Max screen kit and I got right type of screen but the screen adhesive was the wrong size.
Broke my googles pixels phone screen. Affordable is what i would say rather then just getting a new one. Was quite easy to replace just be gentle with the screen till gluing it on, leave it to dry.
I Fix It should do business under a new name, U Fix It. I Fix It has no stores for technical help, nor can you send them an item to be fixed. They have guides so you can fix your own item, which isn't very helpful at all. Please change the name of this business to be less deceptive. Thank you
I ordered a kit to replace a Samsung Note 10 Plus battery. The kit was nice and complete, but they sent a used battery. I complained and they told me no, the battery is new. I sent pictures showing the dents in it and adhesive. It was clearly pulled out of a phone. Since they wouldn't send me another battery, I installed the used one. It lasted about 3 months before it wouldn't hold a charge anymore. So, I got screwed and had to order another battery. Hopefully this one is not used like the last one. I would seriously think about getting parts from some other vendor. Ebay is full of people selling parts and the videos of how to do the repairs are available on youtube. So, no reason to ever buy anything from ifixit in the future.
One number wrong in address for shipping. Three phone calls to iFixit before the package was shipped were not answered. Three emails to iFixit were not seen so package is in route to wrong place. Will not use them again.
IFixit's mission to reduce waste and empower consumers is truly important, in a world where most people are quick to toss a broken product. They talk the talk and walk the walk. Free repair guides repository have been indispensable at breathing new life into the products I own. The tools and replacement parts from iFixit are easy to use and high quality making the likelihood of a successful repair that much higher. Keep up the great work iFixit! And consumers, keep demanding access to repair guides and components for the products you buy and own!
IFixIt seems uninterested in simple and cheap solutions:
They don't want to know unless they have some way of monetising the solution.
IFixIt doesn't:
- Follow its own guidelines
- Explain why they're deleting answers
- Allow a right of appeal
- Respond to emails
N.B. IFixIt doesn't appear in any DIY question search, suggesting that it's not very useful.
IFixit needs to expand its user base and it can only do that by permitting a wider range of solutions... otherwise, it will remain irrelevant.
IFixit needs to accept that not all solutions can be monetised.
IFixit seems to favour electronic repairs over other solutions and doesn't have a wide enough range of answers.
Hopefully, iFixit will improve as we need more repairs and less waste.
There's definitely a place for a forum that teaches you how to fix things.
Otherwise, Youtube will remain the default for most DIY repairs.:-(
Hello IFixit,
The repair tool kit is amazing, thank you!
It came with everything I needed.
Just to inform you, my backglass wasn't broken to begin with, but it wasn't sealing good. It also had minor scratches, so that's why I decided to just buy a new one.
If you want, I can send my old backglass to you guys. Let me know if you guys are interested in it. It's the original that came with the phone.
Don't worry about the price because I'm giving it to you guys for free. I'll also pay for shipping. A little support from me to help the business out!
Thanks,
Ahmed B.

The iFixit Manta Precision Bit Set helps out a lot with fixing literally anything. 112 bits for several uses, it's been one of my best expenses I've done on tools this year. I'm a very satisfied customer.
However FedEx could've been more clear about not being able to deliver the package. I've waited about one and a half month until I contacted iFixit who resolved the issue with me in no-time!
The tools I've received feel like really high quality and help me out a ton, today I've fixed my mother's old phone and rescued her old photos and videos.
I personally recommend getting this Manta Precision Bit Set too since it's so very useful for devices that use screws barely anyone has a screwdriver for. 112 bits in total.
I'm planning on buying more from iFixit, it's great quality overall and I hope their other products deliver the same.
WATCH OUT! IFixit sent me the wrong pixel 5a screen replacement (see pics, the one in red, with bezels). I provided them the correct part information and asked them to verify this by simply seeing the right part pictures on eBay, or on Amazon. They not only refused to verify this, but insisted they were right. And, I had to pay the shipping cost (both ways) because of their mistake and poor customer service.
Cracked screen on iPhone12 plus, they replaced screen. Seemed great. Charged me around 200.00. Battery now started draining in just a few hours. Before it was 10 - 12 hours no problem. They Tried to fix prob by putting another screen on the phone. Battery still drained way to fast. I am taking my phone to apple to get it fixed properly. They took cash so no tax. And no receipt. Be careful
Its scam and overpriced, i can buy same toolkit on AliExpress and cheaper under 20usd, i never see screwdrivers over 70usd only on "iscam it" i feel im on ebay
I repurposed an old iPhone 4 for our 12 YO's first phone. Battery needed to be replaced. The iFixit kit arrived 2 days after placing an order. Contained all the possible necessary tools. Written instructions and great online step by step video. I'm very impressed with the company and product. Thank you.
I purchased the battery from IFIXIT expecting better product than some random battery from amazon that was 30% cheaper. Purchased battery with their fixit tool kit. Delivery and packaging was good but the tool kit came with the bits loosely packaged in a box and a penelope screwdriver was missing so I could not open the case. After getting a local store screwdriver I changed the battery and installed it per the instructions by charging it fully and then using the computer until battery fully discharged to program the battery. Two weeks exactly 14 days later, Today I woke up to a laptop that failed to turn on after disconnecting it from wall charger. Computer is not recognizing the battery at all. Using coconut battery app to verify battery function battery is missing as if computer is running purely on wall outlet power. Don't trust reliability or pay premium price for ifixit product its the same garbage in a barrel as you're getting from amazon.com You may get lucky or you may be $#*! out of luck like I am. I hope they honor their warranty and send me a replacement. I will write a new review if and when I get a battery replacement for their garbage battery.
Last time i make the mistake of trusting advertising. You claim to be pro repair and make it look easy but in reality it's nothing like that I followed your video and when it came time to take the battery out of the switch it wouldn't budge despite how easy you made it look(and said to be careful). I started carefully but slowly tried using more and more force until i started using the blow dryer and card without avail. Now the card is dented beyond use, the old battery is
Misshapen and i don't have a working switch anymore. I should have just paid to have it repaired and not bothered with your "all in one kit"
I was having an issue with my face recognition. This iFixit company recognized the problem right away and had me up and going in minutes. The price was very reasonable and the staff was very friendly and useful, so thanks a lot.
I thought I try out at buying a toolkit bundle from them over the weekend. I thought at first they look like a great company. I saw that they had holiday sales on their bundles as will a code for free shipping for purchases over $49, on their website. No expiration date. So I tried to buy the stuff and the code didn't work. So I e-mailed them. It was the weekend, so I thought I can wait till Monday to hear back from them. Monday came and the all the sale prices went off, before they replied to my e-mail. They replied and told me the code expired. Their was no expiration date on their website. I e-mail them back and told them that. They sent a diversionary response saying that it was in the advertising e-mails sent out. Since I just heard about them, I don't receive e-mails, so I didn't see. No expiration code on a displayed deal that is expired, that is clearly false advertising.
I have purchased a bunch of batteries from ifixit but lately I have had a rash of bad batteries that did not charge when installed, or would only hold about 20% of the rated charge. On the last install on a 2016 Macbook Pro Retina Touchbar it was more than just a minor inconvenience given how many screws and connectors must be removed and reinstalled. I ended up taking the laptop to a local repair shop who fixed it for not much more than the cost of the ifixit kit only.
I got through the entire installation of my replacement battery for my 2018 MacBook Pro and when I inserted the battery data cable into the battery terminal on the circuitboard that is attached to the battery, the terminal came off. I did not do this forcefully it was very gentle. It's extremely frustrating having gone through this whole process that took four hours to have this happen on the last step.
When I contacted ifixit.com, Kyron, a support technician, told me that they do not warrant the quality of their parts and that when it arrives at your door, it's out of their hands. They tried to say it was "physical damage" to excuse their faulty product quality. That's like going to a dentist for a crown and they don't warrent you biting into an apple because you could incur physical damage. They said they would offer a one time exception and give me a coupon for 50% off a replacement.
Ridiculous.
Answer: Their instructions cover each step in clear detail. All include photos and nearly all have video as well. Highly recommended!
