This site is a complete disaster. I wish I had checked reviews before I signed up. Their site does not show pictures of the signs that my son is supposed to be learning so they gave me the run around for 2 days, refused to take my calls, disconnected every time I tried to contact them and of course will not refund my money for their worthless site. Stay AWAY!

You are asked for your home address and "ship to" address. I paid extra to have it overnighted to my work address because I wouldn't be home to receive it. And that's the address they put on the certificate---not the home address on my license. And it needs to match my license. I called them and they said the "ship to" address is the one they have to put on the certificate. Nowhere on the site did it say they would do that. I'm not sure why they even have a "ship to" address! They didn't either. And I had to pay to have it re-shipped after physically returning it to their local office. Never will I use them again nor will I recommend them to anyone else.

Bad verification system! STAY AWAY! I signed up for the course yesterday. NY State law requires that you be authenticated prior to each quiz. There are 8 in total. I have laryngitis so I was unable to do the voice verification. Had I known this prior to registering I would have waited till my voice was back to normal. Instead of the voice verification they switched me to keystroke verification where you have to type 6 letters the same exact way each time. So that would be same exact timing between strokes, same pressure, etc. Prior to the first quiz I apparently failed the first verification. Did pass it on the second try. Prior to the second quiz I apparently failed again. Now, NY State only allows 2 failed attempts and then you are removed from the course and need to start all over. REALLY? I called the company and after 3 frustrating hours they said as a courtesy they would put me back into my course, but would not be allowed to do it again. I decided since it was probable that I would fail the verification again, since it is impossible to type EXACTLY the same way each time, I would call my credit card company to dispute the charges. After saying that they offered me a full refund to avoid "all that paperwork". I am calling my credit card company just in case. I would NOT recommend you use this site. After doing the first 2 chapters it seems very informative and easy, but their verification system needs to be improved. I prefer to pay the higher insurance fees than take their course.

I got kicked off the website constantly. I would complete one small section, click next, get kicked off. I got the same error message every time "There has been an error and the administrator has been notifiedPlease try and login againWe apologize for the inconvenience" no matter what browswer i used or what computer i logged onto. I emailed customer service, no response, i used click to chat and kept the chat open while i worked, an hour later there were still "0 chats ahead of you" and I was still "connnected. Please wait to be attended." right. Nobody ever showed up. Horrible. Horrrible waste of time! Made the course at least four times longer than it should have been.

I signed up for their defensive driving course. I got to the point where an automated voice told me to repeat 5 numbers. I repeated the numbers. The voice said it could not understand me. It ask me to repeat the numbers a second, and then a third time. I did, and both the second and third times it said it could not understand me. Then it takes me to a page where it asks me to download a form, have it notarized, then either fax or mail the form to them. I call their customer service rep, she said to download the form
Blah, blah.
I told her to just give me my money back, she replied there would be an $8.00 processing fee. I asked for what, I had not even started the course. She said that it was their policy.

My voice is very deep. The automated voice system apparently could not understand it.

What were they expecting someone with a voice like Justin Bieber?

This company is a rip off Avoid.

So I have to say It was long and boring process but I finished it and got a passing grade. As I requested the email version for my certificate I then waited for it to be sent to my email... I then emailed and called to try and figure out what happened customer service was supossed to give me a call back as well as a email which I never recieved. I had to call four times to finally get it sent again... They made it so hard to get it on time and now I still have the points...

These people stole from me. I signed up for their course and was then locked out of the program. I called in and they said it was because it took me more than the time allotted by my state to complete it. I spoke to multiple officials at both my local and state BMV branches who all told me that no such timeline existed and that idrivesafely was required to render the service for which I paid. I contacted idrivesafely again and told them this and they said the BMV officials must have been lying or misinformed. Let me reiterate that, they claimed that the BMV, the agency that makes the rules regarding driver safety programs, was incorrect.

Of course they would be more than happy to reinstate my account for me if I paid them another $49, which would have brought my total investment to $98. I went back to the BMV and told them this and was not surprised to find out that this request was out of line with the BMV's driver safety program policy which states that they are not allowed to charge more than $55 total per program.

Don't go here
January 5, 2013

Don't go here - the pages have ridiculously long timers on them, so your student gets bored and unfocused waiting to be able to advance to the next page (average wait = 7 MINUTES, some as long as 12 minutes per page!). This would take a normal reader 1-2 minutes to read and digest.

I paid around $90 for my teen's driver's ed course, and she didn't finish in time. I asked for a week-long extension, and was charged $20 to extend the time 30 days. Pure extortion. Find a different site - I can't stress it enough.

I signed up for this course after doing some research and found this site to be pretty accurate: http://www.drive-safely.net/idrivesafely-review.html

Of course, I didn't take the course by choice, but it wasn't really that bad. I spread it out over several days and just did a little bit at a time. No issues.

I was a little bit hesitant to use this site for a points reduction after reading the reviews here, but I decided to give it a shot anyway since it was cheap ($31 in New York State) and easy to use. I had no issues whatsoever; the course is boring and the CGI videos are terrible, but that's to be expected. After a while, it really started to bother me that the guy doing the V. O. s in 90% of the videos pronounced vehicle "vee-hickle." But I survived, and I didn't even have any issues with the voice identification. You'll be asked to record yourself saying a series of numbers at the beginning of the course, then at random points throughout the course you'll be asked to call in again and recite a few more numbers. It seems like it would be pretty easy to game this system if you wanted to, so it's a bit unnecessarily complicated, but I was careful to use the same phone in the same location every time, and I spoke the numbers very loudly and clearly, almost robotically. I passed every verification without issue. I'd guess there was probably one for each unit, plus the initial one, so 9 in total. If you're a fast reader you can always just leave the information pages open and do something else while the timer runs out. The quizzes are very easy to pass if you pay even the slightest bit of attention. I actually learned a few things from the course, although most of the information borders on the inane (don't wear sunglasses as night? Really?). I know that the content of the course is mostly state-mandated so I think they've done a decent job. They also offer free upgrades in exchange for Facebook Likes, so if you really want the audio read-along feature but you don't want to pay eight bucks for it, look for that option. At the end of the course, if you don't choose that upgrade, they'll offer you a free speedier delivery of your completion certificate. (This is what you need to submit to your insurance for a rate reduction. Your course completion is automatically sent to the DMV for points reduction, which is nice.) Overall I would recommend this site if you want to take a defensive driving course. The experience wasn't the most fun, but it could have been a lot worse.

This company is an absolute joke!

I can not stress that enough. I decided to take it for my own education and to enjoy the 10% savings on auto insurance. There are 8 Units, each taking about an hour to complete. Before starting the course, they do a voice authentication to establish a base point for your identity, for what I can only presume is to prevent other people from taking this course for you. So after FOUR HOURS of reading documents, watching videos, and taking tests, I have to complete a voice authentication and sure enough, "The voice does not match".

Wow. Awesome security there!

I start an online chat session to bring this problem to the company's attention. The person I get, "Claudia", does confirm that there are multiple failed attempts at my verification and offers the less than comforting advice that "Hey, if you fail again, you can redo the course at NO CHARGE". Well golly gee, let me count my lucky stars for that.

So I call the company and am greeted by a less than amicable person that continues to emphasize, "It's ok if you failed one. You got one more", completely missing the point that their system is botched and that it is hopeless. Then in an effort to get me off of the phone, she tells me that he can transfer me over to another department that will change the way I am verified. I agree, due to my overall lack of other options.

The guy that I get transferred to says that he can change my authentication process, but only if I agree to restart the course and lose my 4+ hours of work. No thank you for that. So I decide to continue and and hope that whatever outsourced job-holding Indian fellow that programmed this software didn't screw up too bad. But nope. Within another 30 minutes of doing the program I am met with another voice authentication test that I fail miserably. End of course. You do not pass go. You do not collect $200.

Thanks a million IDriveSafely!

I attempted to register for a ticket dismissal course on this site, after processing my credit card, the site demanded that I call a number to give "voice recognition responses". I have never had to do the "Voice Recognition" in the past but because I had already provided payment information proceeded forward. The fiirst four responses, no problelm, the fifth response continued to state my response could not be verified and then instructed that I submit a notorized proof of identification and after that was received and the course completed, they then would send me my certificate. When I got to the notorized proof of my identitiy verification i decided against proceeding on. I called the 800 number on the website and was told if I wanted to cancel at this point there would be a refund fee of $8 I asked her "Why, I haven't even completed registration yet?" She said it was set out in their terms and conditions. I told her I would handle this with my card issuer and hung up. I immediateley went to other sites who guarantee their product with FULL REFUNDS and no refund fee up to 72 hours. THIS SITE IS SCAM. DO NOT USE

I just finished using this site and I honestly must say that I am happy I chose it from among the 50 listed in my approved traffic school list. The county that I got my ticket requires online identity verification. Most sites allow a notary to sign or something like experian to verify info which costs additional money. This site confirmed my identity with a few personal questions but didn't cost any more than the $15 registration fee for my traffic school. Was able to complete quickly and had my certificate sent to my traffic court. An hour later I got an email from the traffic court saying they received my completed certificate and that my case is now closed! Wow, that was fast. Thank you!

Such an arduous course! I had to take it after getting a ticket for doing seven over in middle-of-nowhere West Texas from a state trooper. You have a timer on each page and you can't progress to the next page until the time expires. There are hundreds of pages in this course and you always find yourself staring at the timer because it only takes a few seconds to read through the page. If you fail a section you have to completely take it over with the timers. Why? I already spent six hours going through the content once? Why do I have to spend another 45 minutes on top of the six hours redoing a section? Just let me review the material I've already gone through at my own pace and retake the exam at the end of the section.

You will be absolutely miserable after taking this course and will have to wait a few hours just to let the steam vent off before getting behind the wheel again. If you haven't had a ticket recently just get it deferred and don't waste the extra time, effort, and money taking this course.

We purchased the drug & alcohol course that is required by the state of Florida before you can get your permit. The website offered for an additional $25.00 to take the permit test online. I called prior to paying to ask if there would be a discount at the DMV when I took my daughter to the DMV to get the permit. They told me at Idrivesafely that the most it would cost is $10.00 for the actual permit card & the hearing and vision test. After getting it all done on there website, we went to the DMV and they told us that the "third party" website ripped us off because we have to pay the $54.25 with them regardless. Yes, the Idrivesafely.com sends the DMV the info that you passed the tests, but it doesn't save you any money... It actually costs you more... Your better off just taking the Drug & Alcohol test that is required and taking the test at the DMV... the Idrivesafely.com claims they are saving you money, but in all actuality they are ripping you off and don't care... I called them and spoke to a supervisor to get my money refunded, he then put me on hold and then hung up on me... I called back, and this happened twice more...
