At first, it was scary because I didn't know if this was true or not but then I realized that prevents fraud and that it's an awesome
Incredibly frustrating to have to deal with this process to access the most mundane of information. My previous years' adjusted gross income is more secure than the military base I work on. For the love of god stop wasting money on this nonsense and let this company sink into the abyss. I'm amazed users don't even have a choice on whether or not to utilize this ridiculous level of protection. Who on earth would want to deal with this?

When I got the notification that my Federal EFile return had been rejected and that I was going to have contact the IRS in order to to receive an Identity Theft Personal Identification Number. I was so angry and became so stress.
In order to be able to EFile my taxes though however I had to do it and to my surprise it was a breeze. It was easy and didn't take no time at all.
Pre-loaded personal info from previously submitted 1040's make it easy to confirm or edit. Up-loading of cell phone photo of documents was easy, to me, resulting in a fast confirmation of personal ID.
ID.me is a good system, just don't use the do-it-yourself option. Stick with the live video chat agent and you'll be pleased with the outcome. I gave the overall experience 4-Stars because I attempted to use the do-it-yourself option first (supposedly takes less time) and it was so difficult I had to exit the system without successfully completing the application. I then went back and used the live video chat agent option. It incredibly smooth and I was in the system in just a couple of minutes. Had I started with the video chat agent, I would have given ID.me a 5-Star rating.
It was my first time experiencing something like that to me it was cool I like it and u might too if u had to call them to help u remember ur self
This website is complete garbage and you won't get a dime from these people even after jumping through the hoops. They will cut you off before you hit 10 dollars and won't certify or process any other purchases. I can't tell you how many purchases I have made and it will not process.

Lovely and straight forward. I needed to get some paperwork complete quickly for school and id.me verification saved me some time. I had difficulty with the individual test but the lady for the video version helped me very quickly so i could continue and not miss deadlines.

ID.me is a good opportunity to verify your identity at IRS.gov, if you don't have a US phone number or you're not in the US or you don't speak English well. It's safe - via video chat. If the phone does not allow connecting the microphone or video camera, it can be connected via "zoom".
Took too much time. Could not find what I needed. I am thankful for the availability of discounts but feel that the site is not organized or user friendly. I would reccommend people try it and if they have issues call customer service which I will be doing on Monday.
