I was skeptical but the process was easy, quick, and secure. The instructions were easy to follow and while I started the process on my desktop computer, I was able to use my mobile smartphone to easily submit the required documents that were used to verify my identity. Overall, the process took less than ten minutes to process my new ID.me account!
ID.me is an important method of ensuring the protection of our personnel information. There is no question about that factor. However, getting the app set-up should be much easier than the almost two hours required to find the needed information online on how to set-up an MFA then input all the other information needed to access the IRS account. It is worthwhile but be patient going through all the "hoops."

Setting up ID me was fast and easy. Using my smart phone, I did it in 5 minutes or less.
Fast, and On point.At first it was very frustrating, so I went down to NYS Labor Dept, and I was help by a willing Labor employee, so he was able to set me with ID.Me, and bam I was in...he also it much faster this way.so we proceed and we was in within a few minutes...I was relieved, and ID.Me was very prompt on letting me know it was Successful!

I used ID.me twice for both state government and federal government sites. It is an efficient service. My first experience was uploading my ID documents and a brief video chat interaction with a CSR to verify my identity. It was a quick and friendly interaction.
