I started my experience with ID.me back in 2021-2022. It was a little complicated to follow back then but I see big improvements since then and a pleased it is. I use it to get to the Veteran web site, use it for my medical care as a veteran. I am not getting on the Social Security and IRS sites. ID.me makes it much easier for me. Thanks ID.me Staff.

It took me over 2 hours to verify my ID using this phone in the Internet. The waiting time is not accurate, there is no patience with agents on the other is trying to connect their camera so that they can communicate. I waited 2 full cycles which originally said the wait time was 35 minutes, and both of them turned out to be over 45 minutes.

Very satisfying with it everything went for me and it was very easy
I had an awful beginning when trying to establish my ID me account to access the irs.gov website. It was a constant back and forth of trying to recall former accounts and verifying 2 step verification factors again ect. Thankfully for once in my life I managed to have all the documents that were necessary to proceed although uploading, confirming the information was matching, and navigating the website was a another brutal toll. It took me several days because I kept having to stop and then restart just to relieve the pressure I felt from it all. I progressed to the next stage, the scheduling part of my document verification interview and that has to be the worst of it all. I was at first told that I only had a few minutes to wait but was also given an option to leave and log in via email at a later time. I regret that entirely because when I did login, my wait time had been adjusted from 7 minutes to 40 which in reality, was at least an hour and a half. The site kept telling me that the amount of time left was to sync every 120 secs, although it had long past what was stated sometimes adding several minutes. On top of that twice it asked me are you ready leaving me to jump over hastily grab my documents happily click the button only to realize, they brought me right back to 27 minutes that lasted double that. Finally I reached the verification aspect as far as showing my documents to the agent and let me tell you that's where you'll just be so relieved because that right there takes 5 minutes providing you have a good agent like I did. He was calm, patient, made me laugh... honestly made me completely forget about the aggravating time that I had over the past 2 hours much less the entire week. It was over in a breeze; I just held up my documents and that was it. Delightfully completed my survey at the end, that's it, all done. I logged into the IRS website downloaded all the information that I needed which by the way is way better than it was a few years ago. This was all necessary for me to complete my FAFSA so not only will I get my taxes filed for this year, and another year, I'll also be able to enroll in school so thank you ID me most specifically the agent who made me forget the horrendous and aggravating process this all had begun as.

Simple Iphone change turned into a two and a half day ordeal.Only contacts were through a chat line that I had to use that didn't know how to help me, and a very slow email - question and answer. If I could have talked to a person it might have helped.

It was rush hour I was driving, agent made me pull over to a safe spot before we began. Told me a feel relax and safe, said a few kind words and we began. And in minutes it was over and I was on my way.

Why is biometric information now required just to prove identity to get a tax return returned? They didn't need it before? Next they will be wanting a DNA swab. Our government has become way to invasive.

Actually I don't see how they could have made it any easier for me but it was very frustrating. Because I didn't know how to do any of those things like take pictures, selfies, or upload any of it. But they got me through it. I took the one star off just because I'm still feeling frustrated even though everything worked out.
