Using ID.me has made accessing our SSA, IRS and Government retirement accounts faster, easier and more secure. Best part is it's so easy to set up in just a few minutes and you're done.
My only issue with the ID.me process was taking a photograph of my ID. I expected the website to take the picture with my phone (like when you deposit a check on line), but it does not. I had to take a photo of the front and back of my ID, and then upload it to the website via the smartphone; then you have to do a selfie video with your phone, and then I had to switch back to my pc. Somewhat cumbersome.
I was applying for unemployment insurance and needed to setup an account through ID.me while working with someone on the phone. The setup instructions were easy to follow and the time it took to complete the verification process was quick.

Great. The technology giveth the tech taketh away (mostly giveth). I think the glitch was more on the customers side of things than I.D. me. They certainly know what they are doing. Done with alacrity (when possible).
While I was initially bothered that I was now being required to take additional steps to get access to my account to pay estimated taxes online, I have to admit that it was easier and faster than I expected. I know that the extra security is for my benefit.
I have never tried to argue or make things difficult with anyone. I just want my love home & safe! The process was never transparent, I wen through a lot of changes within myself trying to get everything you need w/no nstructions from anyone. I just want him home ASAP!
Would not let me upload my ID s as needed. It was a tedious and long process taking hours and hours.
