My experience with ID.me was extremely disappointing and harmful. As a blind disabled user with severe light sensitivity, I wear protective glasses to shield my eyes. During the verification process, I was required to remove them and show my eyes under bright light in order to continue. That caused extreme pain and left me unable to use my eyes normally afterward for tasks I usually do. A system that is supposed to be accessible should not force a disabled person to suffer just to verify their identity. The process felt unsafe, inaccessible, and not designed with people like me in mind. It also left me concerned about trust and safety, because I should not have to risk harm in order to prove who I am.

Was trying to get verified. Kept asking me to retake pictures but gave no reason why they weren't working. Typical government piece of crap website.
I spent several frustrating hours trying to get verified without success. ID.me was suggested. I completed ID.me in less than 1/2 hour and was successfully verified.
I tried multiple times to upload documents without success. Finally after many attempts the site offered to try using a video selfie to ID me. That worked the first time.
As Expected in a service for verification I would say this is very good it's only fair and more importantly as long as everything is safe and secure I hope that this service improves tremendously for the employees and the employer as well as for my own and others God bless you and more importantly God bless the Workers of America. 😊👍🏾
I previously had little experience with ID.me even though I have an account. This time the verification process was a little more involved than the last time because a "video selfie" was required. I'd never done a video selfie in my past. The prompts were good enough to get me through the process and have success on my first try. I was apprehensive. If you are a good instruction follower, have no worries!
I welcome security and it can't be too simple to access. If it is simple to access it simple to hack so I encourage anyone to please be more diligent about your security of private information.
Literally had to restart many times just to upload my IDs and finally when I was verified not even one day later my account was suspended for who knows what
They listed the wrong number for customer support on their error page and once I was eventually able to look up the correct number, their answering service didn't offer an option relevant to my issue or the option to speak to a human about the issue.
Created account but then got an error code when trying to sign in to use the services and now because of this error code I am UNABLE to file my 2025 tax return
I found this to be more difficult than it should have been.
Tip #1 - have the ID that you want to use ready before you start the process
Tip #2 - Be in a well-lit room so you can more easily take pictures of your ID, and have an easier time taking your video selfie
Tip #3 - If at all possible, complete this set up in one sitting. Having to start over can be extremely frustrating
Other than that, it's not a painful process, and it doesn't take too long to complete
URL shows no security markers. Website was extreemly difficult to work with. Very glitchy, kept timing out, throwing weird error messages.
Not sure if I just fell for a scam and compromised all my sensitive data.!
