I am not terribly computer literate and had my grandson by my side during the process, however; I was pleasantly surprised with the process. The young man who interviewed me was very knowledgeable throughout the process and my microphone did not seem to be working so he just called me and we completed the interview.
It was quite difficult for me especially when my old cellphone number, was still in the system despite me changing it. And often times it was confusing not getting a customer service help.
It's a headache for sure to set up etc. but if u r stubborn enough and it is a ine time thing, what the hell, go for it but be ready to have to make 2-3 attempts.

After getting the proper documents approved the process was strait forward and finally allowed me to access my SSA account online.
I needed to order a refill of medications from the Veterans Administration and the system was quick in responding and it ran very smoothly. I also decided to take a look a my social security account and I was able to view my information with ease. This site has everything I need as a veteran in one central location instead of signing in to multiple websites. I feel as though my information is safe and guarded with ID.ME
I feel like the site was secure before ID.me and was much more user friendly. I think the new long in might be a little cumbersome

Overall the experience was good. My only frustration was that I already use login. Gov for almost everything else. Wish there was a single system to log into gov websites
It is annoying to have to go thru ID for a site when in the past it was not required. The reason that I had my email and user name, along with a password was to enter the site and get the information needed. With ID, I have to stop to get documents and photos in order to gain access.
They force you into using their Authenticator app, which is yet another authenticator app in a world of authenticator apps. It's redundant, poorly designed by today's standards, and quite literally, unnecessary. It feels like a square wheel in world full of round wheels. There is nothing preventing their system from using any of the standard authenticator apps currently available, other than sheer arrogance on this company's part. What a flawed customer experience this is. It's the equivalent of some company creating their own cell phone that you have to use to call them for sales/service instead of using any of the pre-existing standard cell phones already available. This kind of thinking really makes you question their other decision making skills, especially in terms of securing your information. This company does not inspire confidence.

I can't give this less than one star I would! IDme was forced upon me and I have no choice but to use this pointless "extra" security company. They are making money by fear mongering gullible people into using it!
