It's easy to set up if you use your phone / desktop / laptop. I used 2 so I didn't have to jump back and forth from screen to screen. Whole process took about 15min. Using the multi factor sign in, takes the same amount of time as any other multi factor sign in. Only wish ID.Me used Microsoft Authenticator. Rather than their own. An extra app to download.
Deceptive, liers, info disappears from pages that are supposed to be secure. I believe they will use our info for illegal uses for their own use and get us in trouble.
Current government issued documents / selfies were uploaded successfully and verified, however, access was denied by Social Security Administration.

Easy to use for those with experience with computers. Waiting for a confirmation code is not a great idea. Several elderly people are unable multi- task.

After the initial startup as far as giving all the information that's required, it's very simple to use. And everything you need seems to be there without having to look for it or request it. I use ID.me to log in to the Veterans website to obtain a military ID. I have also used the service to obtain military discounts from businesses like Lowe's and Home Depot as well as many other places and restaurants! The Ide service is quick and easy to set up and is safe! I recommend the device!
Have tried to get in for months to no avail. There is no phone number to call and speak with a real person. Only chat bot that gives suggestions, all of which I've tried, and none that work! WHY don't you have a number I can call and speak to someone?
Everything about ID.me is horrible from taking over an hour to log on because it refuses to recognize my email and password to navigating the whole system. Then, in order to post this message they need my last name and email address. I guess they figure it would cut down on bad reviews -- a really slimy tactic.

I've gone through its verification. It says I'm verified -- then, at the next step, before I can access anything, says its records are confused and I must go to a Social Security office to clear up its confusion
I understand identify verification but this is much too invasive and I do not feel as though I have any personal information regarding my identify held peivate

Told my account was suspended, no reason given. Took 3 days and 2 emails to finally get a reply saying they couldn't unsuspend it but I could just make a new one using the same email (real secure). Then tried to upload my ID only to be told that it wasn't acceptable even though it was one of the options clearly stated as acceptable on the page. Then 3 emails about that with no reply. Finally went back to the original company I was trying to get the discount for and complained and all of a sudden it went through.
All in all, over a week of dead-ends and frustration. If i never have to deal with this company again it will be too soon.
With the new calendar year approaching, we wanted to know what our COLA was going to be for the coming year for our personal. Budget purposes. ID.me outlined our current Social Security benefits and how much is deducted for Medicare. We will access the website again in a few weeks to obtain the 2026 Social Security benefits. Once you set-up your username and password, You can access ID.me any time. It does have a secondary verification for security.
The uninformed Veteran should not overlook a knowledgeable Veteran Service representative in their area to avoid grief and and mental exhaustion. My experience in this situation has changed my life entirely. I sleep beter without the stress.
