My experience with ID was awesome, the gentleman that assisted me was very helpful and informative.
At first I thought it was going to be difficult too get established, It was a little lengthy, and I didn't like given so much of my personal information, But it is a very secure site. Now I have a one time log in to all VA.gov.
After several failed attempts to hear and see me, despite my microphone and camera being turned ON, I missed 2 phone call. After I began to panic, I finally got a text on a cell phone, a cell phone I hadn't even been using in the entire transactional process. When the curt, unfriendly video interview was abruptly ended, the page which referred me to ID.me in the first place was GONE. No enail. No text. I was left looking at a blank page. The hours of work I had completed on a govt website had vanished. I can't tell you how angry I was at ID.me because I don't use such words in public.
I followed promts over and over and could not creat log in. Then I had to search and search for how to cantact ID.ME support which sent me over and over to help text that was useless. I finally got a chat prompt that was a robot. Then I got a mesage that someone would contact me with an estimated wait time of 5 min Then the sceen changed and had me do something else. This allowed some call in face time sort of operation with a person of which I had to repeat all of the things I originally done trying to create log in which was following promps and taking pictures and using my cell phone camera.
ID.me is a quick, safe, high tec method for a person to verify their identity. First time user and highly recommended them.
Took a long time Needs to have a quicker access to your website and to talk to somebody actually on the phone. Maybe next time thank you for your help with doing this
At first this was somewhat difficult, I'm old, getting all the paperwork together wasn't easy. But when I started the video chat with the representative, it became piece of cake. He knew what he was doing, handled a small crisis like a pro, and was very pleasant to talk to. He explained everything to me in a way that I could easily understand, and was able to finish signing me up without any more problems.

Received a possible fraud letter earlier in the year, and was dreading dealing with it because of past experiences, with the IRS, however, 2023 gave me a new outlook. My issue was resolved and handled very well. Time consuming and arduous to set up. It's not an option to use it, so you are forced to signup with them to access your own IRS accounts. After providing them with the information they requested, I feel totally exposed. Hackers will have a field day when they are able to exploit the ID.me data.
