The registration process took a few minutes and you need to have your license, cell phone, and laptop at hand but overall it was worth it for the safety factor. Also, I discovered some online shopping websites use ID.me as a verification for customers to get senior discounts.
I tried several times on multiple days to upload my document pictures. The pictures met the stated criteria. I tried alone and also guided by staff very the phone. I was never able to complete the task. I then tried the video option. It wouldn't even open! My tax dollars at work here? I think not! The staff member advised me to keep trying. Thanks! No real help. I work 2 jobs and DON'T have time to waste like this. Just getting to a staff member takes 1,2 or more hours! Where is the help!
The process is actually quite simple if you have all the documents you need on hand. The wait time for the video chat agent was estimated at about 6 minutes and that is exactly how long it took. My agent was very professional and helpful as I was having a hard time getting my document visible to him. I would give 5 stars but I am just not a fan of online identity verification. Other than that, it was quick and easy. Thank you!
If you have a problem signing on with your user name or password having to go verify your information became a problem. You would have to go through the process of verification of who you are. Then if password was a problem you had to change it. And after doing this you had to go through verifying who you are all again.

It frustrates me to have to show my government id to a private sector 3rd party in order to confirm I am, who I say I am. Think about that for a min. The government issues me an I'd then asks an uninvolved company "is this who we gave that id to?" How stupid and wasteful is that?!?
The situation was handled very well thanks to the guard who kindly guided us, the office was clean and well-organized, and the staff were skillful and quick. Thank you

My agent was very helpful and made it much more easier than I thought the whe process was going to take. Also was able to get it done very quickly. I would say my experience was pretty great.
I had to go to five or six different functions to set up my account, the camera wouldn't accept my identification I had to rake 2 or 3 times by the way I have a great camera on my iPhone 15

Just wanted to check my payment history with IRS, and was directed to go through ID.me. Surely it has multiple choices, so I had to try 2 to three times to get it right. I believe there should be separation for the businesses, personal and or other help before we get to ID.me and then we can directly go through with the necessary steps.
Steps are easier than I thought, but confusing to follow if we are not very familiar with computer system.
The first page of ID.me warns us being aware about fraudulent spams and linkage. How do any ordinary person, feel comfortable providing their selfie and or drivers license (As if IRS does not have our information) after that.
In fact, I was reluctant to provide all information hence I had to try a few times.
I have used it once and pray when I try again it works and does not say that was spam...

At first I thought it was going to hard when I saw the 5 steps needed to get the ID.Me account but it really wasn't that bad and I appreciated the fact they were both thorough and secure so that only I could have provided the info needed for me to get into my IRS account. Very pleased with ID.me.
If your looking for simple and quick you've come to the wrong website. Even though it's you you still won't be verified unless your in sun light for you verification picture. Just awful. Needs to be fixed.
